Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Aiden’s Joy, Danger!
“Is it really over already?”
“That Mythic Rank Miko Blaine just… died that easily?”
Cheryl couldn’t help but rub her eyes hard, then looked down at Miko’s body on the ground again.
She started to wonder if she was dreaming. But even in a dream, it shouldn’t have ended this fast.
This was a level 75 Mythic Rank Miko, after all!
This was Blaine from Winterhold The Selwyn Family, a well-known genius in the Miko territories! If it had been anyone else, they’d probably already be lying dead on the ground.
But Aiden ended the fight in under a minute!
“Aiden, are you really only level 50 right now?” Cheryl couldn’t help but ask.
Aiden gave a slight nod. His level was indeed 50, and he hadn’t finished the Class Change quest yet.
Wait. He had just killed Blaine, so the Class Change quest was actually complete.
Realizing this, Aiden quickly checked his logs and nodded in satisfaction.
Blaine was level 75, but the Class Change quest only required killing the Abyss Mythic Rank BOSS at level 65.
[Killed level 75 Mythic Rank Miko genius Blaine. EXP +12,000,000]
…
[Killed level 75 Mythic Rank Miko genius Blaine. EXP +1,200,000,000]
[Acquired 1000 Mythic Rank Miko Soul Essence, 1000 Mythic Rank Miko Blood, 1000 Mythic Rank Miko Heart…]
[Acquired Item: Cold Force of Laws Shard (Mythic Rank)]
[Acquired 1 Mythic Rank Skill Enhancement Stone]
[Acquired Skill Book: Domain of the Bitter Winter (Mythic Rank)]
How much EXP?
1.2 billion!
Aiden was usually calm, but seeing the log messages made him take a deep breath anyway. His eyes filled with strong excitement and joy.
“Worthy of being a level 75 Mythic Rank Miko,” Aiden murmured.
Blaine was arguably the highest-level the Abyss creature he had ever killed, and the rewards were absolutely massive.
Still, Aiden knew clearly that without the perfect counter of Divine Golden Sunflame against Blaine, this fight wouldn’t have ended so easily.
Of course, he hadn’t even used his full power yet, like Defy Fate Sacrifice or his Mythic Rank gear and items.
“By the way, Blaine should meet the requirements for the Bane of All Races Ring, right?” Aiden suddenly thought of this.
[ Bane of All Races Ring: Mythic Rank, Special Item, Bound to Owner: Aiden. Non-tradeable. Auto-destructs if the owner dies permanently. Spirit+5000, Speed+5000, Constitution+5000, Strength+5000, Skill cast time reduced by 50%, HP regeneration speed increased by 50%.
Special Effect: Myriad Races Rank Tribulation. Killing geniuses, elites, BOSSes, or gods of any race other than humans permanently increases damage dealt to that race. The increase scales with the target’s power and the number of kills, with no cap. If 50% of a race’s population develops fear or other negative emotions toward the owner, the Bane of All Races Ring will grow.
Current damage multiplier vs Demon Clan: 132%
Current damage multiplier vs Miko clan: 7%]
“Only seven percent?” Aiden frowned immediately. That number was lower than he expected.
Though it probably had something to do with his own power growth.
Honestly, Aiden was actually quite curious about what would happen to the Bane of All Races Ring when 50% of the the Abyss Demon population developed fear or other negative emotions toward him.
“Bane of All Races… This name really fits the gear perfectly,” Aiden thought to himself.
Besides the massive EXP, Blaine had dropped other items too.
Just as Aiden was about to check the details of the items and Skill Book, Cheryl’s expression suddenly turned panicked, and she rushed to call out:
“Aiden, no, we can’t stay here!”
“I forgot to remind you that Blaine’s death is going to trigger a whole chain of events!”
Aiden’s pupils sharply contracted. He remembered what Rainn had said at the Miko temple.
“Genius Miko from an ancient Miko family? Once they die, it will draw massive attention.”
“Some Miko have special skills that let them see the target’s final moments before they die.”
It had been a long time since he’d last killed a Miko—all the way back at the Miko temple. In the heat of the battle, Aiden hadn’t even thought about it.
“Sigh… I got too rushed. I was just so focused on killing a Mythic Rank the Abyss genius and pushing my quest forward.”
A sudden bad feeling hit Aiden.
Without a second thought, he took control of the Blackfire Cloak on his back and shot northward with Fiona and Cheryl.
But before he could even get a few hundred meters away, a strange pulse suddenly erupted from the battlefield they’d just left.
Buzz!
The air vibrated sharply, and a massive black eye quickly formed above Blaine’s corpse.
“Who dares! How dare you strike at our genius from Winterhold The Selwyn Family!” A furious voice echoed through the sky.
Aiden bit back the urge to look back and pushed himself to top speed.
“Damn it, run! Aiden, run!”
Cheryl’s face was pale with tension, her voice thick with panic.
During the fight, Cheryl hadn’t fully believed Fiona when she said Aiden could beat Blaine. Even after seeing Blaine fall, her mind had been too stunned by Aiden’s power to think about the consequences.
Between all the clashes she and her sister Rainn had with The Selwyn Family, they’d learned quite a bit about ancient Miko clans like theirs.
“A soul clone. That’s the soul projection of a Demon God rank Miko expert from The Selwyn Family. It’s not only incredibly powerful, but it can also lock onto targets.”
“Once we’re marked, The Selwyn Family will hunt us down without end!” Cheryl explained rapidly.
Ancient Miko clans valued their geniuses above all else. Even if the Abyss creature clashed with one of them, they’d usually swallow their pride just to avoid a clan’s relentless retaliation. It was completely normal in Miko territory.
Compared to Blaine, Sylvia—who had died at Aiden’s hands earlier—wasn’t important enough to draw this level of attention from The Selwyn Family.
“Trying to run?” Just then, the massive black eye snapped toward Aiden.
In an instant, the giant eye transformed into a black broom and shot straight after Aiden.
“Fine! A Miko, a Red Dwarves, and a human—daring to kill a genius of The Selwyn Family. You can run all the way to the edge of the Abyss, but you’ll never escape their vengeance!”
The angry voice grew louder and clearer with every second, meaning the soul clone was closing in fast.
Even with hunters on their trail, Aiden stayed calm. His mind raced, constantly looking for a way out.
If it weren’t for Cheryl and Fiona, he wouldn’t be in much danger.
“Go on without me. I’ll try to stall her!” Cheryl glanced at Aiden and said it firmly.
Fiona stayed silent, her eyes torn between doubt and hesitation. If it weren’t for her brother Karls and Grandpa Brock, she might have said the same thing.
“No way. If I die, then…” Fiona struggled with the thought.
She took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and said, “Aiden, drop me and run! Please, save my brother for me. His name is Karls. That’s all I’m asking!”
Aiden didn’t say a word. A cold flash of killing intent crossed his eyes.
“No, we’re not out of options yet. Can a Demon God rank Miko’s soul clone even use Force of Laws?” Aiden asked rapidly.
Before Cheryl could even answer, Aiden’s expression suddenly shifted.
A flicker of excitement flashed in his eyes.
“Aiden… Master, how did you end up provoking a Demon God rank Miko’s soul clone?” Irene’s voice rang out inside Aiden’s mind.
At the same time, Aiden felt a slight heat building between his eyebrows, as though Irene was trying to break free from within him. But the sensation faded almost instantly.
“No. I haven’t recovered enough to fully separate from you yet.”
“Master, do you have any blood on you? high-level or High-tier the Abyss creature blood!”
“If you do, I can get you out of here!” Irene explained quickly.
Aiden replied in his mind, “Of course. I have blood from a level 75 Mythic Rank Miko. Is that enough?”
Irene was thrilled. “Perfect! But I’ll need quite a lot of it.”
Hearing her response, Aiden finally let out a breath of relief.
“Will one thousand portions be enough?”
Irene paused for a moment, her tone sounding helpless.
“Master, really? Are you joking right now?”
“Did you kill a huge number of level 75 Mythic Rank Miko?”
“I only need twenty…”
Before Irene could even finish, Aiden already gave a firm nod. “No problem at all.”
“Fiona, grab my legs.”
Aiden told Fiona to reposition herself first. Then, following Irene’s instructions, he chugged bottle after bottle of Miko Blood.
“You can’t run, human!” The soul clone was closing in fast behind them.
Suddenly, Aiden felt the Miko Blood flooding his system. It merged into his body quickly, and the heat on his forehead grew intense.
At that moment, the Blackfire Cloak on Aiden’s back erupted with a thick mist of blood.
His speed spiked instantly, and his body jerked backward against his will.
“What? They haven’t even shown their true speed yet?”
“Was that human mocking me?” The soul clone hesitated for a split second.
“Damn you, human!”
With a furious scream, the black broom-shaped clone shot forward, its speed drastically increasing.
