Chapter 2815 – The Sin-Severing Dungeon
Su Yi found it strange. Rahu and Ketu, the Shadow Star and the Eclipse, two of the Laws of the Nine Luminaries, had vanished after landing in the Ancient Nine Luminaries City. No one knew where they were hidden. Over the past few days, he had visited numerous different parts of the city, but he’d discovered nothing at all.
It seems the Laws of Rahu and Ketu can only be hidden in those two places, thought Su Yi.
There were only two places he hadn’t been to yet. The first was the Forgotten Palace, which the Heart-Tempering Sword House had claimed as their base of operations. Outsiders were not permitted to approach. The second was the Sin-Severing Prison, which had been occupied by the experts of Eternal Lightning Court. They didn’t let anyone else approach, either.
“Big Brother Li, your little brother happened upon a few Falling Star Stones. They’ll do me no good, so why not play with them? Who knows, you might well find something fun inside!” Dong Liujia approached with a smile and passed Su Yi a bag of holding.
Numerous others noticed the exchange, but Dong Liujia didn’t care. Su Yi naturally didn’t mind either.
He’d agreed to a draw with Dong Liujia in part because Dong Liujia knew how to handle himself; he’d directly taken out all of his treasures and offered them to Su Yi. He had also promised to give Su Yi half of the Falling Star Stones he found in the Nine Luminaries Forbidden Zone.
“Every time you open your mouth, it’s ‘Big Brother Li.’ When did you become such a sweet talker, Dong Liujia?” Xia Rouyun walked over, her skirt swaying around her.
She was so extraordinarily charming that she became the center of attention the moment she arrived.
Even the women couldn’t help but sigh over her beauty. Xia Rouyun really is an unparalleled daughter of the Celestial Foxes. She’s a natural enchantress; there’s no one else like her.
Dong Liujia subtly looked her up and down, taking in her ample curves, then said with feigned surprise, “You even know how sweet my mouth is, Miss Rouyun?”
Xia Rouyun rolled her eyes, then smiled at Su Yi. “Barely a few days have passed, but your majesty has only increased. How truly wonderful.”
She made no attempt to disguise her feelings. Her eyes sparkled.
Su Yi didn’t know what to say.
“You two go ahead and chat!” Dong Liujia said with a laugh, then considerately turned to leave.
“He’s a bit clever after all,” commented Xia Rouyun.
Then, she walked up to Su Yi and transmitted, “Daoist Brother Li, why not leave? Are you really not at all afraid that something will happen? Or do you think my warnings were alarmist nonsense?”
Her gaze was full of concern. “The situation looks bad. From my perspective, your predicament is becoming increasingly dire. Danger might strike at any—”
But before she could finish, Su Yi said, “Might I trouble you to do something for me?”
Xia Rouyun was briefly stunned. Then, she clucked her tongue in rebuke. “Trouble? Don’t act so distant. Just go ahead and ask, Daoist Brother Li. Whatever it is, I’ll do it happily. After all… I like you very, very much.”
As she spoke, she lowered her head bashfully.
Su Yi didn’t know what to say. There was no denying that Xia Rouyun was more than just physically enchanting; even her mannerisms stirred the soul. In a sentence, she was built in such a way that when she looked down, she couldn’t see her toes.
When Su Yi didn’t say anything, she took it upon herself to ask. “What can I do for you, Daoist Brother Li?”
“I’d like to have a look around the Sin-Severing Dungeon,” said Su Yi.
Xia Rouyun looked stunned, but then, she smiled. “And here I thought it was something big. So, you just want to go there? For me, that’s really no trouble at all.”
With that, she led the way, and Su Yi followed.
Lian Yue watched from her Divine Contemplation Lotus Platform, a complex look on her face. Does Li Muchen… really not realize that he’s in for disaster? Why else would he linger in the city instead of fleeing immediately?
The Sin-Severing Dungeon was located beneath a badly dilapidated ritual ground. The entrance was in the dried-up well at the center of the ritual grounds.
Eternal Lightning Court had long since claimed the entire area as their base of operations.
When Xia Rouyun arrived with Su Yi, it created quite a stir.
“Senior Apprentice Sister Rouyun, why bring that guy here?” someone couldn’t help but ask.
“I brought Daoist Brother Li here to see the Sin-Severing Prison. Is there a problem with that?” Xia Rouyun asked slowly.
Her sectmates exchanged glances.
Her Dao Protector, Heavenly Monarch Jin Xun, was instantly ashen with fury. “Xia Rouyun, what do you take our base for? Do you think this is some kind of latrine that outsiders can enter and leave as they see fit?”
Xia Rouyun burst into sputtering laughter. “Elder Jin Xuan, you said it, not me.”
Heavenly Monarch Jin Xuan understood Xia Rouyun, and he knew there was no talking sense into her. Instead, he glared at Su Yi. “You aren’t welcome here. If you know what’s good for you, leave immediately!”
Before Su Yi could respond, Xia Rouyun said with displeasure, “Elder, the Ancient Nine Luminaries City doesn’t just belong to Eternal Lightning Court. That goes for the Sin-Severing Prison, too. How can you be so tyrannical?”
She paused, then said ruthlessly, “Anyone who stands in my way will become my enemy! Try it, and you’d best not give me an opportunity to get even after we return to the sect!”
Many of her sectmates grimaced, then looked at Heavenly Monarch Jin Xun. Jin Xun glowered, but after a lengthy silence, he just left with a wave of his sleeves.
Xia Rouyun smiled sweetly. “Thank you, Elder, for granting my request!”
She then led Su Yi into the ritual grounds and up to the dried-up well.
“Shall I accompany you?” she asked, eyes sparkling with anticipation.
But Su Yi shook his head. “They say the Sin-Severing Dungeon is extraordinarily dangerous. If anything happens to you, Eternal Lightning Court will skin me alive.”
Xia Rouyun sighed. “I see. Very well. I’ll stay here and watch over you. I guarantee no one will dare to try anything with me here.”
The other Eternal Lightning Court disciples watched from afar. They almost laughed from sheer anger. Senior Apprentice Sister, this is our territory! Who’d do anything so blind and foolish?
Her words were clearly directed at them, after all. She was practically calling them sneaks and crooks to their faces. But none of them dared to voice their discontent out loud. However, when they looked at Su Yi, their expressions were decidedly unfriendly.
Su Yi naturally didn’t care about any of this. He just flashed through the air and vanished into the well’s depths.

In the Forgotten Palace, the Malevolent Sword Venerate, who still wore Shang Wuhui’s face, shook his head. “And here I thought that after all those rebirths, he’d be something special. It turns out that he’s done nothing but retread the same old path I once walked.”
It was Jiang Wuchen who’d first discovered the Nine Luminaries Forbidden Zone. Back then, he acquired the various Laws of the Nine Luminaries, one after another. In the end, he acquired all of them, save for the Laws of Ketu, the eclipse.
He then fused those eight Laws into his Dao of the Sword, letting him create the Laws of the Starscape upon his breakthrough into the Heavenly Fate Realm.
The Laws of the Starscape were known throughout the Eternal Heavens Domain as some of the mightiest around. They pointed directly to Destiny! And it was the Laws of Rahu, the Shadow Star, that formed the core of the Laws of the Starscape.
“You think he’s retreading your old path? That isn’t necessarily the case,” said the Sword-Bearer. “What you once acquired, others can acquire too. You might have used the eight Laws you acquired here to create your Laws of the Starscape, but the Laws of the Starscape are ultimately still rooted in your Dao of the Sword. Based on that, Su Yi’s path is sure to be different from yours.”
By now, both the Malevolent Sword Venerate and the Sword-Bearer knew that Su Yi had entered the Sin-Severing Dungeon.
“It’s true,” said the Malevolent Sword Venerate. “He also has reincarnation and the Epoch Spark. His future attainments in the Grand Dao are limitless.”
But then, he laughed. “Everything he has will one day be mine. Even just the thought of it is enough to fill my heart with joy.”
The Sword-Bearer said suddenly, “If Jiang Wuchen never refined the Laws of Rahu, perhaps…”
“Enough!” The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s gaze suddenly frosted over. “I know what you’re trying to say. The Laws of Rahu are murderous and destructive. It’s a fundamentally evil power. That’s true. But that doesn’t mean that contemplating the Laws of Rahu led to problems with Jiang Wuchen’s Dao Heart!
“As his heart devil, I understand what happened better than you ever could. The mere Laws of Rahu could never have affected Jiang Wuchen’s heart!”
The Sword-Bearer didn’t argue. He just said, “Do you think Jiang Wuchen was right in deciding against contemplating the Laws of Ketu?”
“Whether it was right or wrong, all of that is ancient history,” said the Malevolent Sword Venerate. “But if I’d been there back then…”
He paused, then shook his head. “Never mind that. All of that is in the past.”
“You can begin,” said the Sword-Bearer.
The Malevolent Sword Venerate froze, stunned, then grinned. “Many thanks!”
He turned and strode out of the Forgotten Palace.
The Sword-Bearer sat there, unmoving as a statue.
Outside the hall, something suddenly occurred to the Malevolent Sword Venerate. He ordered, “Fu Yong, pass on my commands. Send our forces to stand guard over the entrance to the Sin-Severing Dungeon!”

Before long, Fu Yong, Old Yao Kun Peng, Granny Snake, and Bi Yunzi led their Heavenly Monarchs to the entrance of the Sin-Severing Dungeon.
The cultivators gathered there were startled.
“What’s going on?”
“I have no idea.”
“It looks like something big is about to happen!”
Over on her Divine Contemplation Lotus Platform, Lian Yue’s gaze focused. She didn’t even need to think to know that the attack on Li Muchen had officially begun! She rose and left her lotus platform.
His Excellency Su is in danger… Yang Lingxiao’s heart clenched. He was just an Unfettered Realm disciple; he wasn’t remotely qualified to participate in this operation.
Dong Liujia’s expression was complicated. Inwardly, he sighed. Li Muchen, oh, Li Muchen. If you survive this, forget about calling you Big Brother… I’ll happily call you my grandfather!
He admired Li Muchen, but at the same time, he knew that Limitless Palace would never forgive the man who had killed Wu Xun.
Are they targeting Fellow Daoist Li? Yun Qiaojun’s heart clenched. He felt indescribable grief and frustration. Is he about to face the consequences of offending the experts of the Five Great Continents?
Xia Rouyun and the other Eternal Lightning Court cultivators gathered near the entrance to the Sin-Severing Dungeon all saw the large numbers of Heavenly Monarchs of other factions headed their way with fierce momentum.
The look on Xia Rouyun’s beautiful face shifted. Li Muchen has only just barely entered the Sin-Severing Dungeon, only for this to happen. There’s no way it’s just a coincidence!
But before Xia Rouyun could say anything, Heavenly Monarch Jin Xuan appeared beside her and clapped her on the shoulder. “Our Eternal Lightning Court won’t be getting involved. We’re leaving!”
Then, he dragged her and the other Eternal Lightning Court disciples off before they could so much as get in a single word edgewise.
