I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 390: Lu Chen’s Plan

Seeing the series of reactions from Wang Haoran, Yun Churan went quiet. Before Yan Yuntian’s hidden condition was announced, Wang Haoran already mentioned it to her in the hallway. When they were in the ward, she noticed the strange look Bian Suwen showed whenever she glanced at him, a look that hinted at a deeper connection.
Because of that, Yun Churan suspected that Yan Yuntian’s issue might be connected to Wang Haoran, or more accurately, that Bian Suwen acted under his instructions. Soft persimmons are always the easiest to squeeze. Starting from Wang Haoran was far easier than trying to corner Bian Suwen.
After hearing about his usual activity area, she came to find him with the intention of sounding him out. Unfortunately for her, Wang Haoran didn’t take the bait. Even so, the suspicion in her heart did not fade.
“My engagement isn’t something you need to worry about. Before anything else, I deserve justice,” Yun Churan said, answering what he mentioned earlier.
From the perspective of sect interests, Yan Yuntian fit her standards well. But now that his ability in that regard was gone, there was no future between them. The problem was finding another partner who could bring benefits to her sect.
She felt wronged, so she needed to know whether Yan Yuntian’s condition came from cultivation backlash or from someone’s deliberate actions.
“What justice?” Wang Haoran asked casually.
“Finding the culprit and giving me another ‘Yan Yuntian’, of course,” Yun Churan replied.
“Heh, so you came here because you think I’m the culprit?” Wang Haoran admired her intuition, but he naturally wouldn’t admit anything. He acted as if he heard a joke.
“Stop playing dumb. I know it was you,” she said firmly, even though she was only guessing and trying to bluff him.
“Say whatever you want.” Wang Haoran gave a relaxed smile, stepped closer, and added, “Even though it has nothing to do with me, I do sympathize with your situation. Giving you another ‘Yan Yuntian’ isn’t difficult at all.”
“What do you mean?” Yun Churan frowned in confusion.
“Just look at me. I’m obviously better than Yan Yuntian. Why not let me be your husband?” Wang Haoran said while showcasing his charm with a confident smile.
Yun Churan stared for a moment, briefly distracted, but she quickly recovered and snapped, “I already asked around about you. You’re just a pampered rich kid from the secular world, and the only reason you walk around so arrogantly is because Feng Xuansu shelters you.”
“In simple words, you live off a woman.” Her voice carried open disdain, nothing like the gentle and elegant attitude she displayed when they first met. “Forget being my husband. You don’t even qualify to carry my shoes.”
Wang Haoran watched her and immediately understood her a little better.
This woman wore different faces for different people. That so-called noble and refined demeanor was nothing more than a mask.
After all, she was only eighteen, and girls her age naturally come with temper and flaws. The face she showed now was her real one. In her eyes, he was a soft target, so she showed no need for pretenses.
With that in mind, Wang Haoran dropped the courtesy as well. “I’m taking back what I said earlier. Even if you grabbed my leg and begged, I wouldn’t look at you.”
Yun Churan snorted, thinking he was just being spiteful because he couldn’t get her. She turned around and left, unwilling to waste more time on him, yet after walking ten steps she grew irritated again.
She flicked her fingers, pulling a fallen maple leaf into her hand. Then she snapped it forward, sending it flying past Wang Haoran’s face before it buried itself deep into a maple tree dozens of meters away.
She didn’t harm him, only frightened him. “I’m giving Feng Xuansu face. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be standing right now.” With that, she walked away.
“If you truly attacked me, you wouldn’t be standing either,” Wang Haoran muttered as he watched her leave.
Behind him, Lu Chen jumped in shock. The leaf struck a tree right beside him. Curious, he walked over to examine it, and his worldview shattered instantly. He never imagined people like this existed, people with abilities straight out of martial arts stories.
He admired the skill for a moment before feeling disappointed. He wished that the leaf had landed right in the middle of Wang Haoran’s forehead. Unfortunately, the beauty held no intention to kill him.
If she didn’t want to kill him, maybe he could help her develop that intention.
Lu Chen stressed over how to deal with Wang Haoran. He considered poisoning him or stabbing him from behind, but those methods were pathetic, and even if they worked, he would end up in serious trouble. He had no intention of going to jail.
Yun Churan’s appearance sparked a new idea in him. Borrow a knife to kill someone.
With that thought, Lu Chen stopped following Wang Haoran and began planning carefully. The problem was that he didn’t realize Wang Haoran noticed his every move.
“Stopped following me? Did he come up with a plan?” Wang Haoran muttered.
After last night’s commotion and Lu Chen suddenly tailing him, it wasn’t hard to guess that Lu Chen wanted to deal with him. Since he suddenly left deep in thought, the likelihood of him plotting something increased.
Wang Haoran wasn’t worried in the slightest. Lu Chen had almost no combat strength, and his only real skill lay in his medical knowledge. But harming him with medical tricks was impossible.
Wang Haoran mastered the Supreme Poison Scripture and understood every method of harming someone with medicine better than Lu Chen ever could.
Lu Chen’s inheritance focused on saving lives. In terms of rescue, he excelled, but in the art of poisoning, Wang Haoran was leagues ahead.
Night fell.
Following his original plan, Wang Haoran contacted Lu Yan and suggested staying at Lu Chen’s villa for the night. Lu Yan didn’t object but still called ahead to inform Lu Chen.
“Yanyan, when are you coming home?” Lu Chen asked over the phone.
“I’m on the way. I’ll be back soon,” she answered, just about to mention that Wang Haoran was coming as well.
Before she could finish, Lu Chen asked, “Is your boyfriend coming over today?” His tone sounded calm, with no trace of anger.
Lu Yan was surprised. “Brother, I planned to bring him over. Is that okay?”
“Yes. Bring him,” Lu Chen replied immediately, even sounding a bit eager.
“Brother, you’re the best,” Lu Yan said happily before ending the call.
Standing beside her, Wang Haoran listened to the conversation and found it strange. On the other hand, Lu Yan thought that Lu Chen had finally accepted him.
But Wang Haoran knew that was impossible.
Lu Chen agreeing so quickly definitely meant trouble. Still, Wang Haoran was confident and completely unafraid. He wanted to see what kind of plan Lu Chen could come up with.
