- Chapter 421: Eldest Sister’s Lecture

“Still not calling Weiwei back?” Tantai Yaoyue’s voice cut through the room like a blade, cold and sharp, snapping Luo Qingqian out of her daze.
“O-oh!” She jolted and quickly nodded, fumbling for her phone with trembling hands before dialing a number.
The call only rang a few times before the other side hung up.
She called again. Still no answer—just another cold disconnect.
Luo Qingqian hesitated, fingers hovering over the screen, but the glance she caught from Tantai Yaoyue froze her breath in her chest. Gritting her teeth, she dialed a third time.
This time, someone finally picked up.
“Seventh Sister, it’s me. Come home right now,” Luo Qingqian said as steadily as she could.
On the other end, Qiu Qianwei didn’t seem to take it seriously.
“Second Sister… didn’t I already tell you… I-I’m not coming home tonight…” Her voice stammered, soft and broken.
Luo Qingqian paused, her expression stiffening. She regretted not stepping aside to make the call in private. She didn’t need to look at Tantai Yaoyue’s face to know just how terrifying her expression must be right now.
“Seventh Sister, Eldest Sister is back. She told you to come home. Immediately.”
“What?!” Qiu Qianwei’s voice rose in alarm, all traces of languor gone, replaced with panic. “Got it, I’m coming, right now, right away!”
After hanging up, Luo Qingqian turned to Tantai Yaoyue cautiously. “Seventh Sister said she’s on her way. Should I call Third Sister too?”
“Call her. Unless she has something truly important going on, tell her to come back too.”
“Alright, got it,” Luo Qingqian said quickly, this time retreating farther away to make the next call.
Over the past few days, Bian Suwen had been busy treating patients during the night, only returning at dawn. That’s why Luo Qingqian hadn’t contacted her earlier—after all, Third Sister wasn’t someone others could easily mess with. Not only was she skilled in martial arts, she also knew medicine.
Still, if Eldest Sister had spoken, then she had no choice but to follow through.
“Third Sister, are you done with your rounds? Eldest Sister is back. If you don’t have anything urgent going on, come home for a while.”
“I’m coming,” Bian Suwen replied calmly. She didn’t sound surprised at all.
That caught Luo Qingqian off guard.
Their sisters had always been close. Under normal circumstances, Bian Suwen should have been excited to hear their eldest had returned.
But instead, she was composed—like she already knew.
Could it be… that Third and Seventh Sister were together?
When she called Qiu Qianwei just now, was Bian Suwen right there beside her?
But Qiu Qianwei said she was with her boyfriend. If Bian Suwen was there too, then—
She shook her head. It was just a guess.
Still, confirming it wouldn’t be difficult.
She personally checked on her sisters last time, including Bian Suwen. Back then, Bian Suwen was still completely pure.
But if she checked again now and found otherwise… then her suspicion would be proven right.
Luo Qingqian ended the call and returned to the living room, silently waiting with the others.
Before long, the sound of the front door opening echoed through the hall.
Qiu Qianwei and Bian Suwen stepped in, one after the other.
Luo Qingqian glanced at them both, a knowing look flashing in her eyes. Her gut told her she wasn’t wrong.
But she said nothing.
She’d already spoken to Qiu Qianwei about the matter before. Qiu Qianwei accepted it in private. In front of others, she still called Qiu Qianwei her younger sister, but in private… she addressed her as Elder Sister.
Still, she would never dare say such things out loud.
If Eldest Sister ever found out, she would fly into a rage, and someone might die.
Now, things were even worse—if Third Sister was also involved…
Three sisters, throwing themselves at the same man?
Tantai Yaoyue, who cherished them all deeply, would never tolerate that.
No. She had to bury this secret in her heart forever.
“Big Sister!”
“Eldest Sister!”
While Luo Qingqian’s thoughts were running wild, Qiu Qianwei and Bian Suwen had already stepped forward, beaming as they greeted Tantai Yaoyue warmly.
Tantai Yaoyue returned their smiles, exchanging a few words of sisterly affection—but soon, her expression darkened.
The atmosphere froze.
Bian Suwen and Qiu Qianwei quickly straightened up, joining Luo Qingqian and the others in a neat line.
Tantai Yaoyue’s gaze landed on Qiu Qianwei first. Her tone was flat, but firm.
“Weiwei, I don’t object to you dating. But listen carefully. I don’t care what happened before, but from now on, keep your distance. Don’t let me catch you staying out all night again. There won’t be a second warning.”
“I understand, Big Sister. It won’t happen again,” Qiu Qianwei lowered her head, her voice soft with guilt.
Satisfied with her attitude, Tantai Yaoyue moved her gaze next to Ji Shuyao.
“I’m not in a relationship!” Ji Shuyao blurted out before she could be scolded.
“I didn’t say you couldn’t be,” Tantai Yaoyue replied calmly. “I just want you to be careful when choosing who to date. Don’t be fooled. Better yet, bring him back for me to meet before you get serious.”
Ji Shuyao felt like crying. Even if she wanted to, she didn’t dare bring him home.
Next, Tantai Yaoyue turned her sharp eyes on Liu Yue.
“I am dating,” Liu Yue admitted honestly. “It’s online, though. We haven’t met in person yet.”
“Online dating?” Tantai Yaoyue frowned. “That’s even more unreliable. When you plan to meet, let me know. I’ll go with you.”
“Huh?” Liu Yue clearly didn’t want that.
“Hmm?” Tantai Yaoyue raised a brow.
“No problem!” Liu Yue changed her tune immediately.
Satisfied, Tantai Yaoyue nodded. “Fourth Sister, what about you?”
“Men only slow down my sword. As a professional assassin, I feel no emotions,” Bu Feiyan replied with a straight face, trying her best to stay out of trouble.
“You plan to grow old alone? That won’t do. If you meet someone you like, don’t suppress your feelings. Otherwise, you might regret it one day.”
Bu Feiyan froze, her gaze drifting toward Qiu Qianwei. She did have someone in her heart… but she was afraid Qiu Qianwei would disapprove.
“And you, Third Sister?” Tantai Yaoyue turned to Bian Suwen, her tone softening slightly. “You’re a divine doctor with wide connections. I’m sure you know plenty of outstanding young men. Are you seeing anyone?”
“I am.” Bian Suwen nodded without hesitation.
Qiu Qianwei and Ji Shuyao weren’t surprised. They already knew.
Luo Qingqian had suspected as much, so she stayed calm.
But Liu Yue and Bu Feiyan were stunned.
“You kept it from us?” Liu Yue huffed. “That’s not fair!”
“You should bring him over sometime,” Tantai Yaoyue said, still trusting Bian Suwen’s judgment. “You’re not reckless like Weiwei.”
“We’ll see if there’s a chance,” Bian Suwen replied vaguely, too scared to actually bring him home.
Qiu Qianwei, however, couldn’t resist the urge to brag. “Big Sister, should I bring my boyfriend over for you to meet?”
She was the official girlfriend after all. If Bian Suwen didn’t dare, she would. Besides, all the other sisters already knew.
Only Tantai Yaoyue was left in the dark.
