I Only Summon Villainesses - Chapter 376: O Ye Of Little Faith

I was suddenly reminded that she had been an arrogant, dangerous, and deceitful Matriarch just yesterday.
White Feather’s eyes suddenly sharpened, and she threw her face to the north.
“A powerful enemy is coming, Sir Cade.”
My eyes ignited with sharp alertness as I waited to see which member of the Water Moon Clan had managed to arrive just in time.
The next moment, someone landed before us like a pillar of black lightning. Crimson hair unraveled, and Kassie stood with her greatsword resting across her shoulders.
White Feather’s eyes ignited with a threatened, defiant radiance. She extended her hands behind her, and her veins bulged beneath her pale skin as if she were summoning an unhealthy amount of power.
I threw myself between her and Kassie and belatedly realized—
’Wait… the powerful person… could it be Kassie?’
Of course, it was.
I exhaled and raised both hands, gesturing for her to calm down.
She exchanged doubtful looks between Kassie and me.
Then I said plainly,
“This is my summon… just like you are.”
White Feather gave me a dubious look.
“What kind of retard do you take me for, Sir Cade? How can you have a summon that is this strong? With her strength, it means you’d have no other soul space to accommodate another summon. But you somehow made me a summon. Even if you’re a Sovereign, this is simply not possible—to have a summon as powerful as she appears to be.”
I turned to Kassie, whose featureless helmet was still sheathed over her face.
“Really? That’s how it is?”
She shrugged.
My focus returned to White Feather.
“Oh well, I don’t know what’s possible or what isn’t. But this is what I can do.”
White Feather’s eyes blinked furiously. She was struggling to mentally accept what she was witnessing.
Kassie’s helmet finally folded away and vanished into sparks. Then her voice came with a hardened edge.
“You don’t have the time…”
My expression hardened when I heard her.
“They have powerful reinforcements coming for them.”
White Feather glared downward, her teeth clenched almost gruesomely.
“Of course they do. Those bastards…”
I studied her for a moment before asking evenly,
“What exactly happened? And did you really let that man beat you?”
She shot a fierce glare at me.
“Let him beat me? Says who? I slaughtered that bastard’s deranged wife. I was betrayed by that bastard Fairywind. He also has my daughter.”
My gaze sharpened when I heard this.
“I was not expecting to be backstabbed by him and Black River. Everything is falling into place now that I realize it. There’s no way Crystal Deep would have known our route without insider information.”
I studied her silently and considered her situation before speaking.
“So what do you want to do?”
White Feather fell silent.
At the same time, Shuǐyáo, who had wandered off at some point during the explosion, returned with two girls.
“Matriarch! Matriarch! You’re well! You suddenly vanished from behind me!”
White Feather sighed calmly and smiled at Shuǐyáo.
“Worry not, Shuǐyáo. I’m very well.”
Relief flooded Shuǐyáo’s expression as White Feather responded. She then turned to me, looked down at the water pooling beneath us, and pierced me with a dark glare.
But surprisingly, she lowered her head and bowed.
“Thank you for saving my friends and helping us.”
I smiled and waved dismissively.
“It’s nothing. Just doing my job.”
The girls glanced at me and quickly hid their faces. Suddenly I got the urge to look into a mirror—were they seeing a different face, or was their taste simply exceptionally questionable?
White Feather turned to her attendant with an authoritative air.
“Shuǐyáo, what’s the situation?”
“Matriarch, things are really bad. The Water Moon Clan has landed on our shore and is currently marching this way. The remnants of the Lotus Sword have gathered to stop them, but I don’t assume they will last longer than five minutes. Even the Matriarch of the Water Moon Clan is among them. She’s very ruthless.”
White Feather’s gaze grew distant for a moment while Shuǐyáo added,
“Matriarch, we can find a place to lay low and gather our strength. We can’t afford to die at the hands of the Water Moon Clan.”
White Feather sighed and turned to me.
“Sir Cade, what should I do?”
I blinked and pointed to myself.
“Me?”
White Feather nodded. At the same time, Shuǐyáo tried to hide the lethal light in her eyes, though not before I caught a glimpse.
“Sir Cade, you’re my master. You own me.”
The girls’ eyes widened as they heard their Matriarch. Even Shuǐyáo couldn’t quite come to terms with what she had just said.
“Whatever your will is, I am ready to follow it—as long as you keep your promise.”
A small smile formed on my lips.
’Now would you look at that… this one at least knows how to make me feel good.’
I heaved a sigh and summoned Frostfang.
“Tell me, White Feather, what do you want?”
She lowered her head respectfully.
“I want to retrieve my daughter and protect my clan.”
For a moment, I was silent. Then I slammed the edge of Frostfang’s blade into the water.
“Alright then. Gather the rest of your forces—any number will do. Make them all gather here. Together we will exterminate the Water Moon Clan and get your daughter back.”
Shuǐyáo glared at me as though I had gone mad.
“This is no weightless matter! You could kill the Matriarch!”
I gave her a celestial smile.
“O ye of little faith.”
Kassie stepped forward, giving the attendant one domineering look.
“No one is dying.”
Surprisingly, Shuǐyáo didn’t speak again. Instead, she stepped back in silence, gritted her teeth, and wandered away.
A few minutes later, she returned with the number of people she could gather—both those who could fight and those who could not. They all gathered around us. More of them were women than men, though there were a few handsome men among them, currently looking haggard.
They all gathered as we stood in the steadily rising flood. Beyond us, the water moved and trembled violently.
The enemy was approaching.
