- Chapter 738 - 528: Introduction, Shock

Inside the conference room, the atmosphere was solemn and silent.
Qin Tian sat at the head of the table, flanked by old and new faces, all present at the meeting.
On one side were Qin Tian’s longtime confidants: Li Qi, Xiong, Terreda, Old Ghost, and Poisonous Widow; on the other side, the newcomers Xue Wuyang, Zhou Ziming, and Kane.
The two groups sat facing each other, their gazes meeting across the table, with curiosity and inquiry in their eyes. Yet, they tacitly agreed not to speak first, waiting quietly for Qin Tian to initiate the conversation.
“Everyone’s here.”
Qin Tian lightly tapped the table: “The main reason for today’s meeting is to introduce a few new members.”
Once he finished speaking, he first pointed to Xue Wuyang, who sat at the head beside him, and formally introduced:
“This is Xue Wuyang, a Tier Six Five Stars Spiritualist, carrying the Cyan Dragon bloodline. He has served in the Royal Army for over twenty years, with his highest rank being commander of the Space Fleet. He is battle-hardened, with extensive combat experience and a unique approach to military training. From today on, Xue Wuyang will be the new chief instructor of the Barbarian Battle Group, fully responsible for all training matters.”
Upon hearing this, Li Qi, Old Ghost, and the others all turned their attention to Xue Wuyang, their eyes showing more solemnity.
They had long known the identities of these three—members of the Zuiyu seeking redemption through merit, their lives, futures, and freedom held entirely in the boss’s hands.
Yet, knowing this, the group felt neither slight disdain nor prejudice in their hearts.
After all, their origins weren’t illustrious.
Li Qi was a shadowy assassin, Poisonous Widow was a fugitive wanted by the Empire, Xiong and Terreda were once lowly slaves, and only Old Ghost was a lone wanderer, barely considered a “normal person.”
To them, past and background were mere illusions; what mattered was strength and loyalty.
Qin Tian turned his gaze to Terreda and asked, “Terreda, you’ve been in charge of the Barbarian Battle Group. Now with a chief instructor added, how do you feel?”
“I wholeheartedly welcome it!” Terreda immediately voiced with enthusiasm.
Having been by Qin Tian’s side for a long time, he was no longer the same Barbarian who only knew how to wield a blade, ignorant of the world. Now he had grown into a leader of the Barbarian Race who understood propriety and could remain calm and thoughtful in the face of challenges.
He knew better than anyone that he had the ability to lead the Barbarian Warriors into battle, but molding this untamed group into the elite force the boss envisioned was beyond his current skills.
Xue Wuyang’s arrival was beneficial for both him and the Barbarian Warriors.
Yet Terreda, after his initial remarks, turned his gaze to Xue Wuyang and bluntly stated, “However, my Barbarian brothers have wild temperaments and recognize only strength. To earn their wholehearted respect and obedience, Instructor Xue must prove his true abilities.”
The rules of the Barbarians had always been straightforward and brutal; strength was the only truth.
While Xue Wuyang was indeed a Tier Six Powerhouse, to make the warriors obedient required a public display of his strength.
Faced with Terreda’s candid words, Xue Wuyang’s expression remained unchanged, his tone steady and with an undeniable certainty: “Rest assured, I will make them listen obediently.”
The confident resolve honed over twenty years in the military was already evident.
Seeing this, Qin Tian’s lips curled into a slight smile. He believed that for a veteran who had once commanded a Royal Army legion, subduing the Barbarian Warriors was hardly a challenge.
“The second one.”
Qin Tian continued the introductions, gesturing to the otherwise silent Zhou Ziming: “Zhou Ziming, an outstanding graduate from the Conducting Department at Dawn Military Academy, graduated first in his class, and served at the Royal Space Fleet’s staff headquarters, excelling in numerous campaigns and receiving continuous commendations.”
As these words fell, a slight ripple surged through the meeting.
Terreda and Xiong showed little reaction, as they knew nothing about the Empire’s military school system. However, Li Qi, Poisonous Widow, and Old Ghost’s expressions unanimously changed, with flashes of indescribable shock in their eyes!
Dawn Military Academy!
It was the top-tier military academy at the pinnacle of the Empire, and its Conducting Department was the best of the best, comparable only to the Royal Military Academy.
To top his class in the Conducting Department there and make it to the staff of the elite fleet made him a favored child of the Empire.
His future should have been bright and ascending; how did he end up a prisoner, becoming a member of the Zuiyu?
The three were confused, their gaze on Zhou Ziming grew more complex.
“Ziming’s military knowledge, strategic vision, and precision in predicting battlefield situations are precisely what we lack now,” Qin Tian’s voice echoed again, “In the coming time, he will stay by my side, participating in various matters. You need not withhold anything from him in your reports and discussions.”
“Yes!” Li Qi and the others nodded in unison.
Qin Tian’s words were already a clear signal.
This Zhou Ziming was highly valued by the boss, given the privilege of staying close and being involved in core secrets, a privilege even Li Qi, who had followed Qin Tian all the way, never had.
Yet, upon hearing this enviable favor, Zhou Ziming’s face showed no joy; instead, a trace of heaviness crossed his heart.
Qin Tian’s unabashed trust was both an acknowledgment and a blatant shackle.
