Chapter 252: Encountering Others!
However, what Li Yun did not know was that not long after he departed, something strange began to happen to Xue Ming’s corpse.
The lifeless body lying on the ground suddenly twitched.
Then, slowly, his eyes opened.
They stared blankly into the void, but something was deeply wrong. The whites of his eyes had turned pitch black, while his pupils had become pale white, completely reversed from a normal human gaze.
His flesh began to writhe.
The burnt wounds and gaping holes across his body started to close one by one. Charred blood peeled away as fresh flesh regenerated beneath it. Even his severed head, which had fallen aside, slowly reattached itself to his neck as if pulled together by an unseen force.
In just a short while, his body was completely restored.
“Heh… having a body again feels truly wonderful.”
Xue Ming’s lips curled into a twisted smile, and he licked them slowly. His tongue extended unnaturally long, nearly half a foot in length, giving him a grotesque appearance.
“Still… this body is far too weak.”
His voice carried a cold hunger.
“I will need to replenish it… or find something better.”
Meanwhile, Li Yun had already entered another passage within the tomb.
As he moved forward, he spotted a familiar figure ahead.
Han Xue.
She had also noticed him and turned in his direction. In front of her was another room entrance, blocked by a defensive intent barrier, and she was clearly in the process of trying to break through it.
“Still unable to get through?”
Li Yun asked as he approached.
Han Xue shook her head lightly.
“This defensive intent can only be broken by wearing it down with one’s own true intent. My sword intent has only reached 20% mastery, so it is not strong enough.”
“I will help you.”
Li Yun drew his sword without hesitation.
In the next moment, his 40% Sword Intent surged outward, sharp and overwhelming, while his 40% Lightning Intent followed closely behind, crackling with violent energy. The two intents intertwined as he struck forward, continuously pressing against the barrier.
Under the relentless force, the defensive true intent began to tremble.
In only a short while, it could no longer withstand the pressure and completely collapsed.
“Thank you.”
Han Xue’s eyes brightened as she saw the barrier disappear, her expression filled with relief.
“You go in first. I will wait outside.”
Li Yun stepped aside, giving her space.
“Alright.”
Han Xue nodded and entered the room.
After a brief moment, she walked back out, holding a beast-skin scroll in her hand.
“It is a five-star secret art called the Youth Preservation Art. It allows the user to maintain a youthful appearance indefinitely.”
Li Yun smiled faintly.
“It seems the owner of this tomb placed great importance on preserving life and vitality.”
The Life Essence Core Art he had obtained earlier, along with this Youth Preservation Art, both revolved around sustaining life force rather than enhancing raw combat strength.
“What did you obtain?” Han Xue asked curiously.
Li Yun replied calmly, “A Mid-Grade Profound Rank cultivation art called the Life Essence Core Art. It can extend a martial artist’s lifespan.”
“That is quite valuable.”
Han Xue nodded, then asked with a hint of anticipation, “Do you think there might be six-star or even seven-star secret arts deeper within the tomb?”
“Perhaps.”
Li Yun’s expression turned more serious.
“However, this tomb is far too strange. We should remain cautious.” He paused briefly before continuing. “I encountered Mu Lan earlier. According to her, this tomb likely belongs to a demonic martial artist from the Iron Blood Sect.”
Han Xue’s expression changed slightly upon hearing this.
“So we must be even more careful from here on.” Li Yun said solemnly to her.
The tomb stretched endlessly, its passages twisting like a maze without end.
Encountering Han Xue earlier had already been a matter of luck. Over the next hour, the two of them moved through the winding corridors without seeing another soul. Not only that, they did not come across a single chamber either, as though this part of the tomb had been deliberately left empty.
As they ventured deeper, their sense of direction gradually faded.
The pathways seemed to shift endlessly, and there were no clear markers to guide them.
In the end, they could only rely on instinct and continue forward.
Another hour passed before they finally encountered someone.
Unfortunately, it was the last group they wanted to meet.
They arrived at what appeared to be a central hub within the tomb. The space was wide, extending in all directions, with numerous passageways branching outward. The entire area spanned nearly a hundred meters, giving it an open yet ominous atmosphere.
From one of the connecting passages, two figures slowly walked in.
Fan Qing.
Yan Luo.
The moment Yan Luo saw Li Yun, her lips curled into a twisted smile.
“Li Yun, I must say, your luck is truly terrible. Running into me again and again like this, it almost feels like even the heavens want you dead.”
As she spoke, she took out a small blood-colored banner from her storage ring. Waves of crimson energy spread outward from it, carrying a sinister aura that made the air feel heavy.
Li Yun smiled calmly, his expression unchanging. “That remains to be seen. Perhaps the ones who will die today are the two of you.”
Yan Luo let out a cold laugh. “Still speaking so arrogantly. You will not escape death this time.”
Fan Qing stepped forward, his gaze fixed on Li Yun as though he were already looking at a corpse.
In his eyes, Li Yun was already dead.
If Han Li had been present, the situation might have been troublesome. But with only Li Yun standing there, Fan Qing saw no reason to hesitate.
“Fan Qing, Li Yun is yours. Han Xue is mine.”
Yan Luo spoke decisively.
She understood her own limits well. Although she possessed powerful treasures, her personal strength was not sufficient to fully unleash them. Facing Li Yun directly carried too much risk, but dealing with Han Xue was something she was confident in.
“Do not worry.”
Fan Qing’s voice was calm and filled with confidence.
“It will not take more than ten moves.”
