Lord of Prayer - Chapter 224 - 166: Lord Steward (Part 2)

Chapter 224: Chapter 166: Lord Steward (Part 2)
Just by standing there, she exuded an allure that ignited a primal heat in a man’s gut. Li Xiangyang, who had seen countless beauties, could only gawk in a daze. In person, the famous actress was a dozen times more sensual than she was in the movies!
Li Xiye’s cheeks flushed. Seeing the actress’s stunning face and voluptuous figure, she couldn’t help but feel a primal urge, a craving for that body.
Antonio kept his head down, smoking silently, refusing to even look at Julie Eva. Perhaps he knew just how terrifying her charm was—it ensnared men and women, young and old, without exception.
“Mr. Zhou.” Julie Eva smiled and bowed to Zhou Chen, making no effort to hide the large expanse of creamy white skin she revealed in the process.
Zhou Chen narrowed his eyes slightly. There was something familiar about the actress’s aura.
“You’re an Ascender?” he asked.
“Yes, Charm Element.” Julie Eva’s smile was bewitching. “It’s a passive ability that I can’t turn off. But it’s precisely because of this Ability that I achieved the fame I have today. For the next seven days, you will have complete ownership of me.”
“Ownership? Like an object?”
“Just like an object,” Julie Eva confirmed with a nod.
Zhou Chen waved his hand, dismissing Antonio. The man took the hint and rose to leave, seemingly eager to get away.
“Why?” Zhou Chen asked. “You’re an Ascender, an internationally famous actress. Are you really so willing to be traded like a possession?”
“Those are the rules of the game. They gave me fame and status, so I have to pay the price,” Julie Eva said matter-of-factly. She blinked her impossibly seductive eyes. “That’s why I’m so glad the winner was you, Mr. Zhou, and not that disgusting goblin. And I must say, Mr. Zhou, you’re far more handsome than any of the male celebrities I’ve met.”
Zhou Chen chuckled softly and turned to the Li Brothers and Sisters. “You two, step outside for a moment.”
The siblings, their minds still reeling from Julie Eva’s allure, took a long moment before they reluctantly got up and left, leaving the man and woman alone in the private room.
“So eager, Mr. Zhou…?” Julie Eva’s lips curved as she leaned in, clearly just as impatient herself.
Getting in good with an Alchemist was a heavenly opportunity for her, especially one so young and handsome… ’He’s simply irresistible!’
“So…”
Her sweet fragrance washed over him, but Zhou Chen’s expression turned cold and impassive.
“When did you sign your pact with a Demon?”
Julie Eva’s expression flickered, but she was a consummate actress. She seamlessly transitioned back to her seductive smile. “What are you talking about, Mr. Zhou?”
“If not a pact with a Demon, then what? The Joyful Holy Sect, the All Spirits Association, Paradise of Bliss, the Pleasure Club, the Sanctuary of Pleasure…” Zhou Chen rattled off the names of several Abyss Churches that had existed around the year 174. “…Which Church do you belong to?”
Julie Eva’s breath hitched, an almost imperceptible pause. Feigning ignorance, she gave a seductive laugh. “Mr. Zhou, you’re joking. I don’t follow any Church.”
“Is that so? Then where did this unnatural charm of yours come from? Don’t tell me it’s an Extraordinary Ability. That excuse might work on others, but not on me.”
Zhou Chen had encountered a Demon of desire and procreation before, so he was all too familiar with this kind of soul-captivating allure. It was definitely not some passive Extraordinary Ability that couldn’t be switched off.
With a mere thought, he instantly conjured a chain of alloy. The chain moved like a living snake, binding Julie Eva tightly. Pale white sparks danced and flickered along its length.
“Mr. Zhou…” Julie Eva’s voice cracked, and her expression became utterly pitiful, a look designed to inspire compassion.
“Speak!”
Zhou Chen was unmoved. His grim, cold gaze sent a bone-deep chill through Julie Eva. It was like being targeted by some terrifying predator; if she didn’t give an answer that satisfied him, she felt she would be violently ripped to shreds in the next instant.
“I… I’ll talk! I’ll talk…”
Her mind raced. “I’m a member of Paradise of Bliss,” she said hurriedly. “I did sign a pact with a Demon to gain this charm… M-Mr. Zhou, could you loosen this a little? I can’t breathe.”
Her face was flushed crimson, and she looked as though she was about to suffocate.
Zhou Chen sneered inwardly. ’Let’s see what tricks she has up her sleeve.’ He slightly loosened his control over the chain. Sure enough, the instant the chain slackened, a deep, pitch-black flame erupted from Julie Eva’s body. A cold aura of death and irresistible despair instantly flooded the room.
’Holy shit!’
’Chaos Fire!’
Zhou Chen nearly cursed out loud, but with acting skills worthy of a top award, he maintained his cold, stern poker face.
“I see…”
He chuckled, raising his palm. A pale flame erupted from it with an even more terrifying, explosive force, incinerating every last trace of the Chaos Fire—which had been weakened by a factor of thousands.
The chain abruptly tightened, now wreathed in the Soul-Burning Flame. Julie Eva threw her head back and let out an agonized scream as the Chaos Fire around her dissipated. She slammed her head violently against the back of the sofa, trying to use the physical impact to relieve the searing pain in her mind.
“Julie Eva, you’ve got some nerve!”
With a deadpan expression, Zhou Chen produced a ring set with a black gemstone and slipped it onto his finger.
“The H-Holy Fire Ring…”
In the throes of agonizing mental torment, her hair a mess, Julie Eva saw the ring and immediately began to sob and plead for mercy.
“Lord Steward… Lord Steward, I was wrong! It was my fault! Please, spare me, I was wrong… Ah! Lord Steward… I’m begging you, please spare me! I… I’m going to die…”
