Lord Shadow - Chapter 2024: Pillar of Energy
After all, it might easy to start by creating perfect foundations.
But as the realm grows higher, the harder this would be. It also requires luck and fortune.
Hence, some powerful being would abandon the perfection path when they reached a certain realm. It cut off the possibility of pursuing the path of perfection but that does not mean they abandoned their perfect foundation.
Katarina could also see why Pandemonium have the strongest army in the world. If this mine is used to quickly raise an army, a few thousand Pillar Forming soldiers could quickly be raised to Orb Condensing stage.
Even if you are in level 10, the Energy Gathering Stage, just by being here and breathing in all of this mana mist, you could quickly level up right to Orb Condensing stage.
This is truly a factory to create soldiers.
“Are we going deeper?”
By now, Katarina could already see the scale of this mine.
She had to use her Divine Sense to get an accurate reading for this mine
Only after using it, she finally understands the true scale of it and how big it is
It is like a world onto itself. It would not be an exaggeration to say that if Pandemonium wanted to, they could create a mining city below this and it could house hundreds of millions of people
With all of this energy of heaven and earth, they could grow mana infused food.
Azief keep walking.
But unlike Katarina, when he is walking, he did not just walk. And Katarina also notices it. Each time Azief takes a step, the energy of heaven and Earth around him in one-hundred-meter radius is sucked into him.
So, wherever he is, there is no mist. The energy of heaven and earth is absorbed by him.
“How large is your energy reserve?” Katarina is shocked at this though she did not let it show.
Probably if this entire subterranean continent full of energy is absorbed into Azief……no….could it be that even if the entire mine is hollowed out of its energy it still could not fill Azief entire energy veins?
Katarina suddenly understood why the Essence Creation realm like Azief is truly a powerhouse in the Universe.
Katarina is about to break through to Divine Comprehension realm and she had once felt the energy of Divine Comprehension realm.
It is like the difference between heaven and earth.
Then how much of a difference there is in power between a Disk Formation realm and an Essence Creation realm?
This is two realms above hers. The difference would be overwhelming.
Katarina could only work hard.
“Let me see how much would it take to fill you up” she thought to herself
They go deeper and deeper until finally she saw it
“What kind of pillar is this?’ she mutters. Azief looking at it also nodded.
“If this mine is simply a place for me to replenish my energy it would be too much of a waste”
“What is this?” Katarina said with a trembling in her voice as she pointed toward a crystalline pillar.
There is a pillar. A pillar so large that it seems to hold the entire world.
And there is something inside it that made her gasp!

The pillar is massive. It is a hexagonal columns of pure energy. Like some kind of celestial energy mixed with the kind of energy of this world
The pressure around it is so strong that anyone below Disk Formation would find it hard to walk.
Of course, for Azief it is nothing serious.
What is hard for some people is not hard for him
Instead, he is just standing in front of it without being affected by the thick energy that is constantly emanating out from that pillar
The mana mist that should have covered everything about this pillar could not be seen.
The energy is being absorbed by him each second.
It is like he is a fan.
Absorbing all of these energy breath. But unlike a fan, he did not disperse it to different places and make a mess of the mist. Instead, it is directly absorbed into him
The thickness is miles and miles of measurement.
The mine extends for tens of thousands of miles in every direction.
Around this pillar.
There are rivers.
Streams of water.
But this water itself is not like the water on the surface
This water is shimmering.
And above the water is this mist. Pure energy water. Whether this water was infused with the mana in the mines or whether it was naturally formed as a result of the mine here, no one really knows.
No one would care so much about that kind of question
Of course, if you are the men of Order of Thinkers you probably care. But for someone like Azief and Katarina they did not really need to know why it is like this.
“It widens a bit” he thought to himself. These rivers would crystallize when it is compressed by the mana that keep flowing inside it
But right n ow they are clearly not yet compressed
“There are no workers here?” Katarina asks. But her eyes did not leave its gaze from the pillar. Instead, she simply asks about her observations.
“Robots. Automatons. Golems. Most of them would come out if I want them to.”
“But you don’t summon them?”
“Too much racket. Too much racket would bring unwanted attention to this place”
Katarina nodded
She understood. If Azief wanted to mine this place it would need around two million workers.
And even if these million workers work nonstop it would not chip these energy stone mines much even if ten years is spent.
And these are only the third largest. Azief told her this in his telepathic message when they are walking
Third largest mine and it is not known to the world. Then what about the mines that are known to the world? Azief, this boyfriend of hers really inherit the most prosperous region of the world.
And she knew that Azief never intended to. It is more like…luck.
“Luck” she mutters and something clicked in her mind and she looks at her man and she frowns
“This is the so-called luck and fortune” she suddenly said. Azief nodded. But both her and Azief is not smiling
“These darn luck and fortune” Azief nodded.
“Could not agree more”
“With this much luck and fortune, what kind of calamity one must endure?” she said.
Azief did not say anything. But he sighed.
“Walk alongside me. Here, the energy concentration is higher. If you inhale it too much, too fats, you would feel like you are drunk” Katarina nodded and she walk beside him. Then she snuggles close and she took Azief left arm and snuggle up close
“A date then” she suddenly said with a slightly high pitch. Azief was stunned for a second before he laughed.
“I would rather we go to a date at someplace more….beautiful”
Katarina shook her head
“I know what I signed up for”
Azief halted his step for a moment and then shook his head
“There is no need to suffer for my sake. Suffering…does not always bring happiness”
Katarina did not say anything to this.
“Even if I chose it?”
“Sometimes….there are things you are forced to do” Azief said.
“I chose it” she said again. Azief wanted to say something else but then he drops the issue.
The fatal flaw of Katarina is this.
They walk closer to the source of Katarina shock.
Azief still did not answer her question. But she knows from the way Azief acted right now, he would tell her.
What are these things inside the pillar?
As she comes closer, she also had a suspicion of what this matter is. And it explains that feeling when she was on the upper part of this mine.
“This place is hiding something. And that something….” She halted her thoughts. And remember what Azief said to her a moment ago. Something that is related to his plans for the war in Pandemonium. And something clicked
“I still need confirmation” she thought to herself.
“Can something like this be done? Can I imitate such method? Or is it because of the kind of laws and rules that he controls that he could do this?” there is many question that arises from the moment she has her suspicion.
Above there is the tent largest mine in Pandemonium. But if you below, far inside the core of the ground, there is another mine.
This place is defended with spells
Not a single machinery could be found. No online system. No machinery. Only spell. Only magic.
“Magic is harder to hack than machinery and online system”
This is probably Azief intention.
The mine above this mine is different.
Katarina notices that even though there is lack of machinery to mine the energy stone the kind of magic imposed on it was not as numerous as this one.
These spells are mostly concealing spells.
Not many people would have the ability to see through these concealing arrays.
Not to mention no one would use their Divine Sense to investigate this deeply into the ground.
Divine Sense is not so easily wasted. Even Azief did not use Divine Sense this way. Unless he has a reason to be suspicious, most Divine Sense are simple scanning of the surface.
“Could it be that feeling of life….is because of this pillar?” she thought to herself. Though she had her suspicion, she must first ascertain it

The sound of the mana mist surging like a flood echoes all around this place
