Lord Shadow - Chapter 2045: Cause and Effect

“And I thought you knew that too. That is why you wanted the world to recuperate. But when the conflict between Sasha and Wang Jian is about to erupt, when you could have solve it with one word….you simply urge Lukas to let them fight”

Sian shakes her head

“no, not urge. You incite them. If you had told Lukas anything else, tell him to stop Wang Jian and Sasha, uses your words to tell those two people to stop what they are doing….things would not go this far”

Azief did not say anything.

He let Sina said whatever she wanted.

He is letting her vent

Sian also feel that she is getting angry. Her tone rises and her hands is trembling.

She rarely loses control. Even when she was mad and angry at both Sasha and Wang Jian, she never blew her top.

Because there is a distance between her and Sasha and between her and Wang Jian.

But Azief….he’s family.

And this distance made her blew her top.

She does not know who she is angry with.

With Azief or with herself. She could not believe that Azief would be like this.

Sina could be ruthless but not to people who are innocent.

Because she knows pain.

And she learns it even more during the occupation.

She knew what war is.

And it is a terrible thing to wish on any good-hearted people of the world.

She knew some wars are inevitable. Some people drivee by ambition, greed would not care whether war is terrible or not.

But….this war…this is a civil war. And the war could easily be stopped.

And then when she found out it was her own brother that is orchestrating all of this….she could not believe it. She refuses to believe it

But now as she spoke with Azief she confirms the truth. She probably knows the truth a long time ago. But now she talks with him, she had to accept it.

She looks at Azief and she does not know what Azief is thinking. She realizes this.

As time passes by Azief become even more unfathomable. It is not a matter of not meeting. It is that Azief held more secrets and his method become colder. In the past, he would explain.

At least give her a hint.

But as time passes, he has this kind of cold approach to certain things.

Almost like he is no longer human.

Watching from a different perspective.

People said that the heavens are heartless.

The Heavenly Will is affected by Azief.

But is Azief not affected by the Heavenly Will?

Sina took a sip of the tea and she feel herself calming down a bit. She put down back the tea cup and ask

“After I know that Lukas is urged to do so by you, I ask him everything he had known”

Azief only smiles bitterly

“He hides some things from me but he revealed most of the things to me. There are many forces that is infiltrating Sasha and Wang Jian forces right now”

She paused for a second and then sighed

“Many. From the great powers, to the Crime Alliance, to the other unknown organization. Everyone wanted a piece of Pandemonium”

“Some wanted Wang Jian and Sasha to stop fighting so that the world disruption could be stabilized”

“Some wanted the war to keep going. Some wanted the war to affect Pandemonium. And then there is Lukas himself. Building up public opinion, propaganda and urging the two to kill. Why?”

“Lukas is only loyal to one person. He could even rebuke Sasha and he is not afraid of Wang Jian”

“That person did not hold any official position and he does not serve in the military. He is not a military general nor is he a civil servant”

“Yet, he is not afraid when he had to face off and could easily fight words with Sasha and Wang Jian. Who gave him the courage?”

“You”

“The reason why Sasha and Wang Jian could not control this one person, whose title is just a Head Keeper is none other than the fact that you are behind him”

“As for the reasons why, he keeps egging those two, manipulating thing from behind for them to kill each other, deepening the conflict so much so that Sasha would have no choice but to attack and for Wang Jian to have no choice but to rebel…all of this is because of you”

Azief accepted all Sina words. He did not argue and he did not interrupt. He just listens to her and nodded every once in a while.

“If I stop them this time, will they stop next time”

Sina hearing this nearly blow her top

“then stop them again”

For a moment there is silence between them. Azief look at her and she looks at him. And for a moment this silent stretched on

“You have reached the realm of Essence Creation. You have a lifespan for millions of years. Time would wash everything away. Even if those two people have resentment as long as you give them instruction, they would obey it”

Azief only smiles bitterly

“Now, not only you did not discourage them, you even sent a cheerleader to make them turns against each other. Sasha is like a sister to me. Wang Jian, I owe a debt of gratitude towards him. How could I not be in dilemma?”

Azief smiles

“People hearts are fickle. And the longer I suppressed it, the more explosive the reaction would be later”

“If they could not fight openly, they would fight secretly. And the thing about fighting secretly is this. Sometimes, you would make a mistake. And in order to not let this mistake be known you would make more mistake. And before you know it, you have gone too far to turn back and you could only walk forward following that mistake until the end.”

Azief sighed and then said

“I let them kill and I let them wage war”

And there a pause.

It is quite hard to put his thoughts into words.

Of course, there is the feeling of wanting to teach. But there is also a genuine curiosity and ta the same time there is a plot. It is a plot he created

He is just taking advantage of this conflict. He never had the plan from the beginning.

Though, those people who will see the aftermath of this matter might think he had it all planned out from the beginning

There is many of such misunderstanding.

After all, he himself rarely does explain things. In a way, the vagueness of his response is also a kind of intimidation.

The more they could not think of what he thought, the more they would find it hard to appease him.

And the more they do not know, the more cautious they became

This is something he learned by himself. After all, even though he remember some of the method of ruling when he was emperor in the trials of the Six Sabres, most of those memories are gone. Sometimes when he tries to recall that six lives he had lived, he would find himself sometimes confusing the lives and confusing the experience

Training the soul is not as easy as training the physical body.

Physical training could be easily created. Azief could train in some high-pressure gravity planets or he could bench press stars and planets weights.

But polishing the souls, polishing the mind….this is something that is in one self. It is not something that is easy to do.

Hence, Azief very much treasure the fact that he had experience those lives.

Yet, after he finishes his cause and effect with Azul, the memories slowly fades.

And then he understood that not remembering might be good for him

He understood that Azul knows it is not good for him.

And even though he said the cause and effect had ended, Azief also knows the cause and effect between them would not just end that easily.

Azief lives Azul lives for six reincarnations.

He had managed to revive Azul beloved.

That kind of life saving debt….that is not cause and effect that is easily solved.

Azief knows better now than to think that such cause and effect had ended.

But he dares not say that Azul owes him.

Not because he is afraid that Azul would be angry.

It is because he himself is afraid of the cause and effect that could be attracted to him the moment, he said those words.

Words have powers and once spoken it could attract things just by association of meanings.

Hence, if one ask him is the cause and effect between him and Azul ends?

He would answer it vaguely.

the real answer is buried deep in his heart.

And only he would know.

And only Azul would know.

Other than these two, others would never knows the true answer.
