My Celestial Ascension - Chapter 947: A Twist Of Plot

The Vampire King Evander forgot everything else as the horrifying sight before him sent a chill down his spine, soaking his back completely.
“H-How can we stand against such a massive force…?? This is madness…!”
His body trembled as his face turned pale; he felt like fleeing immediately to save his life. However, his pride wouldn’t allow it.
Suddenly, a gray mist began to appear as the sky turned dark, and the mist swallowed the undead, making them disappear within it.
The mist continued to surge forward at an unnatural speed, devouring everything in its path.
“T-This is bad… at this rate, they will be here within just a few moments!”
King Evander gritted his teeth as he strengthened his resolve; he immediately issued an urgent order to his men.
“Listen up, everyone! The enemy is moving too fast and will be here shortly! Wake everyone up and prepare for battle!!” his voice boomed with urgency.
“Ring the bell!!!”
The vampires didn’t waste a single second and immediately sprang into action.
Tong! Tong! Tong!
A massive bell rang out suddenly, sending powerful ripples throughout the entire border, jolting everyone awake from their sleep.
“Why is the bell ringing? Why disturb our sleep?” a warrior opened his eyes and muttered in annoyance.
“Wake up, you fools! The enemy is here! Prepare for battle!!”
Suddenly, a loud voice swept across the entire place, snapping the warriors fully awake.
Every warrior hastily equipped their battle armor and weapons before rushing out of their tents; all of them wore grim expressions as the sky turned unnaturally dark.
The sound of metal clinking resounded as warriors rushed toward the border wall and took their positions, weapons ready to face the undead.
Emperor Rhex also stepped out of his tent, clad in dark armor with a massive sword strapped to his back. He looked into the distance and saw what was approaching.
“Just what in the world is this… a storm, perhaps??” his eyes widened at the sight, and his entire body trembled uncontrollably.
’A-Am I feeling fear now…?’ he placed his hand on his chest; he could feel nothing aside from the cold sensation of his armor.
Whoosh!
Vampire King Evander landed beside him, sending a powerful gust of wind sweeping across the area as he touched down.
“What kind of situation are we in exactly?” Emperor Rhex asked without turning his head.
King Evander didn’t reply immediately; his gaze remained fixed on the darkness advancing at an unnatural speed.
He exhaled sharply, then said, “I’d call it the worst situation we could ever imagine, Your Highness. Within that darkness hides millions of undead moving toward us, their numbers far surpassing what we had anticipated.”
Emperor Rhex fell silent upon hearing this; his expression froze instantly.
’D-Did the scouts give us misinformation… but why?’ he pondered inwardly, his face devoid of any expression.
The silence lingered for a moment before Emperor Rhex finally spoke, “What about the scouts? Did they return?”
“Unfortunately, there is no news from the scouts. We’ve tried to contact them; however, every attempt has failed.”
“I see… it is as I expected.”
King Evander looked at Emperor Rhex with a puzzled expression and asked, “What do you mean by that, Your Highness?”
Emperor Rhex sighed softly and said, “It means our scouts fell long ago, and their information was nothing but a trap prepared by the Undead King.”
“All this time, we’ve been dancing in the palm of his hands… How infuriating…” Emperor Rhex’s voice turned cold as veins bulged on his forehead, his eyes glowing with a crimson hue.
’Damn it! How could we have fallen for the schemes of that damned thing?! This is outrageous!!’ he screamed inwardly in frustration and anger, feeling a sense of shame he had never experienced before.
Just then, a voice came from behind, immediately drawing their attention.
“It seems we’ve been played by the Undead King all this time… That bag of bones is quite clever…”
King Vargan appeared from behind with a wide grin stretched across his face, while at the same time, his eyes burned with rage, making the air around him tremble.
“This is embarrassing… To think the Undead King has planned this far… This is simply too unbelievable.” Lilith spoke as she stepped forward with a cold look on her face.
“It is our fault… we never thought that our scouts would get caught by the undead and turned into their servants… this was completely unexpected.” Emperor Rhex spoke with a heavy sigh, shaking his head.
With the discovery of the misinformation, the situation of the war completely changed. The enemy now had the advantage, with their overwhelming numbers enough to crush the allied forces.
However, the allied forces felt somewhat reassured knowing that Isolde and Nerith were on their side. With their overwhelming strength, they could definitely give the undead a fair fight.
Furthermore, Yuan and his companions were also present. Although no one knew the true extent of their strength, they were clearly far stronger than Nerith and Isolde.
After all, it was Yuan and his companions who turned Nerith and Isolde into true monsters, making them ten times stronger than before within just a few days.
“Let that bag of bones come… we also have trump cards at our disposal. We will make sure that he pays dearly for playing with us…” King Evander let out a soft chuckle before returning to his post.
“Indeed… with ’them’ on our side, we don’t have to worry too much about this unexpected situation… after all, he promised to end this war…” Emperor Rhex thought and sighed softly.
—
Yuan and his wives were casually spending their time inside the tent while observing the situation through their Divine Sense, keeping track of everything happening outside.
Before Vampire King Evander noticed the undead, Yuan and his wives had already sensed them long ago and were carefully observing their movements.
“To think that the scouts my brother trained were captured and turned into undead by the Undead King… what a twist…” Nerith muttered in disbelief; her voice was calm, but behind that calmness was a storm.
“The Undead King seems to be quite clever… He used them to spread false information just to lower the allied forces’ guard.” Valeria spoke with a faint smirk on her face.
“Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t know about our existence… He will be shocked when we destroy his army.” Vrasha added with a wide grin, cracking her knuckles, a maniacal glint flashing in her eyes.
“You all will handle everything. Unless the situation becomes too chaotic and requires my intervention, I won’t participate in the battle.” Yuan spoke in a calm voice.
Nerith and Isolde were immediately shocked upon hearing this and looked at him in disbelief.
“What?! Why would you even do that??” Isolde asked, almost shouting at him.
However, Nerith didn’t utter a single word and only stared at him with a puzzled expression.
Yuan took a deep breath and explained his reason for not joining the war.
A couple of moments later, Nerith put on her armor with Yuan’s help and was ready to face the undead.
And just as she was about to put on her helmet, Yuan stopped her and pulled her into his embrace before gently kissing her lips.
“What was that for?” she asked shyly, surprised by the sudden kiss.
“For good luck, of course.” Yuan replied with a soft smile.
Nerith smiled shyly and quickly put on her helmet to hide her blush before storming out of the tent, leaving Yuan slightly stunned.
“It appears that she is quite shy for a warrior woman…” Yuan chuckled softly before turning toward Isolde.
Unlike Nerith, Isolde was quite bold in her actions and behavior. And before Yuan could say anything, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his.
Yuan wasn’t surprised by her actions, as he already knew how bold she could be. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her back.
Anna Grace and the others also exchanged a few kisses with him before leaving the tent, leaving Yuan, Miss Zara, Little Zoe, and Yuyan alone inside.
“You humans are quite shameless with your actions…” Yuyan spoke with a deep blush on her face, feeling embarrassed to witness such intimacy.
“Why would you think that? Or is it perhaps because you’ve never experienced something like this?” Yuan asked with a smirk on his face.
However, instead of answering, Yuyan remained silent, and that silence spoke volumes; Yuan no longer needed to hear her answer. He understood everything.
’So, she turned out to be a tens-of-thousands-of-years-old virgin… Expected, yet still unexpected…’ Yuan thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Nerith arrived at the top of the great wall and looked at the sight that was making all the warriors tremble in fear.
Due to her newly enhanced senses, she could feel the presence of millions of undead within the thick mist that blocked everyone’s vision.
“This number is simply too large… So this is what the Undead King is preparing… to overwhelm us with sheer numbers…” she muttered in a low voice, gritting her teeth in frustration.
Isolde stood beside her and said, “Most of the undead are just low-level creatures, meant only to increase the numbers. They won’t be a problem for us.”
“However, those with intelligence will be the real trouble. Not that it matters— for us, they are nothing more than ants that we can crush however we want.” Lily added with a cold smile, confidence evident on her face.
Valeria nodded with a faint smile. “Indeed. We are the real threat here… not the other way around.”
In just a few minutes, the black mist almost reached the border, and thousands of undead emerged from it like ghosts.
“Everyone! Load your arrows and aim at the enemy! Release at my command!”
The commander’s voice suddenly echoed across the great wall, and all the archers immediately loaded their arrows, ready to shoot down the undead.
They waited only for the command, pulling the bowstrings to their limits.
“Now!!!”
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Tens of thousands of arrows were released into the sky at once, covering the heavens, while the flames on their tips illuminated the darkness as they descended toward the undead.
