Naruto: Copy System - Chapter 808 808: [808] : [BONUS] - Rangiku Gets Drunk

~ Next Bonus, 300!

Rangiku led Shin to a newly opened Izakaya. It was a spot Shin hadn’t visited before, mostly because he rarely went out to eat these days.
Between the dedicated cooks in the 2nd Division and his frequent meals mooched from the 4th Division, Shin was well-fed.
“Once again, thank you for saving my life, Captain Shin,” Rangiku said, standing up and bowing formally once they were seated.
“Enough with the thanks,” Shin waved his hand dismissively. “Verbal gratitude doesn’t do much for me. If you want to thank me, let’s focus on the meal.”
When it came time to order, Shin glanced at Rangiku. She didn’t look particularly wealthy. Coming from the Rukongai meant she likely had very little savings.
She was currently just a regular squad member. Even if a promotion was on the horizon, her salary wasn’t high. With that in mind, Shin deliberately avoided ordering anything too expensive.
Seeing Shin’s modest order, Rangiku let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She finally relaxed. If he had ordered the most expensive items on the menu, she truly wouldn’t have known how to pay for it.
Meanwhile, in the 3rd Division barracks, Gin Ichimaru’s expression was grave, his brow furrowed in concern.
“Why is Rangiku with Shin Uzumaki?”
Gin was perplexed. To be honest, he didn’t want Rangiku associating with Shin.
Aizen was dangerous, but Shin Uzumaki was an enigma. He was unfathomably powerful and surrounded by mysteries. If Rangiku got too involved with him, she might be dragged into dangerous waters.
“I need to find a time to warn her,” Gin muttered, sitting down heavily.
Gin knew about their meeting because he had people watching Rangiku. He had to. He lived in constant fear that Aizen might target her again to finish what he started.
Aizen appeared gentle on the surface, but Gin knew the truth—he was a cold, emotionless monster. If Aizen decided to act against Rangiku, she wouldn’t stand a chance.

Time flew by, and soon it was evening.
Shin found himself in a predicament. He was currently dragging a very drunk, very heavy Rangiku Matsumoto. Her eyes were glazed over and unfocused.
“Hic~ Captain… Shin… why are you… here?” Rangiku slurred, swaying unsteadily as she looked at him.
“Eh? Captain Shin… why… why are there three of you?”
Rangiku tilted her head, blinking confusedly at Shin.
Shin was utterly speechless.
“If I knew it was going to be this much trouble, I wouldn’t have drunk with you,” Shin sighed.
This was entirely self-inflicted on Rangiku’s part. She had insisted on challenging Shin to a drinking contest. The result was predictable—Shin was fine, and Rangiku was wasted. To be fair, her alcohol tolerance was impressive, just not compared to Shin’s.
“I guess I have to take her back to the 2nd Division.”
Shin didn’t know where Rangiku lived, so taking her back to his barracks was the only viable option.
However, bringing a beautiful, drunk woman back to the 2nd Division… Shin wondered if Yoruichi would blow a gasket. Just thinking about the ensuing headache was exhausting.
Shin shot a helpless glance at the stumbling woman before sighing and hauling her toward the 2nd Division barracks.
When Shin arrived, he was greeted by the sight of both Retsu Unohana and Yoruichi Shihōin. Unohana hadn’t left—she had stayed behind at the 2nd Division.
“…”
“Shin, care to explain?” Yoruichi stood up, her voice deceptively calm.
Looking at Yoruichi’s impassive face, Shin knew she was inwardly seething with rage. As expected, bringing Rangiku back was asking for trouble.
“Explain? How do I explain this?” Shin muttered, scratching his head. Even if he told the truth, Yoruichi probably wouldn’t believe him.
“First, tell me who she is.” Yoruichi’s gaze bore into Rangiku, who was currently asleep, leaning against Shin’s shoulder and letting out a soft hiccup.
Soi Fon immediately rushed over, pulling Rangiku off Shin and helping her onto a nearby sofa. She then stared at Rangiku, falling into deep contemplation.
‘Does Captain Shin like this type?’
Soi Fon looked down at her own chest, feeling a mix of shame and indignation. This woman was annoying. She should just throw her out.
Just by assessing the woman’s figure, Soi Fon felt a surge of hostility. She wanted nothing more than to toss Rangiku onto the street, but since Shin had brought her back, she restrained herself.
‘I wonder if I’ll ever grow to be like that,’ Soi Fon thought, feeling a pang of inferiority. Although this woman’s Reiatsu wasn’t particularly strong, there were certain… areas where Soi Fon felt she could never catch up, no matter how hard she trained.
Soi Fon turned her gaze to Shin, eager for an explanation. Who was this woman, and why had Shin brought her here?
“Her name is Rangiku Matsumoto. She got drunk, and I didn’t know where she lived. Naturally, I brought her back here. I couldn’t just leave her on the street,” Shin explained to Yoruichi.
“And why did she get drunk, Shin? Were you two together?” Unohana asked with a gentle, yet piercing smile.
Shin took a deep breath. His head was starting to throb.
“She invited me to dinner because I saved her life once. It’s that simple,” Shin stated bluntly.
“Anyway, you guys take care of her. If you don’t believe me, just ask her when she wakes up.”
With that, Shin used Shunpo to vanish instantly. This was a tactical retreat.
‘Sigh, this is all because Rangiku can’t handle her liquor.’
“Do you believe him?” Yoruichi asked Unohana, suspicion still clouding her eyes.
“I believe him…” Unohana said, glancing at Yoruichi. “If he had truly gone out to chase skirts, he wouldn’t have brought her back here. Bringing her to the 2nd Division proves nothing happened.”
“You trust him too easily. I’m still skeptical. We’ll see what she says when she wakes up.” Yoruichi glanced at the sleeping Rangiku, feeling a wave of irritation.
She didn’t vent her frustration immediately, deciding to wait for the truth.
However, this woman… she was a threat.
Not in terms of combat strength—Yoruichi could crush her with a single finger. The threat came from her appearance and figure.
Her curves were overwhelming, surpassing even Yoruichi’s own. It made Yoruichi feel a rare sense of insecurity.
Unohana, similarly, couldn’t compete with Rangiku in that department, though she seemed entirely unbothered by it.
“Soi Fon, go have someone prepare some hangover soup,” Yoruichi ordered.
“Yes, Lady Yoruichi. I’ll go right away.” Soi Fon nodded and jogged off to the kitchen.
“I think this woman is dangerous. Don’t you agree?” Yoruichi suddenly asked Unohana.
Unohana merely smiled at Yoruichi without saying a word, leaving Yoruichi guessing at the meaning behind that enigmatic expression.
