Adrian threw something that looked like a root but that root made the goddess before him trembled. The goddess that did not want to back down suddenly swallowed her indecision. The goddess immediately sent the root that Adrian threw into a subspace so that even the other Rakshasa did not see what it was.

“Since the mediator already gave his sincerity, I believe that the boy no longer holds anything desirable for this one. Still, I should tell the mediator that I will not be the first and only one that will want the boy. The other divine beings in this continent will want him so if you really want to save him then you would need to send him away.” The goddess stated.

“I already thought that was the case but if it comes from the mouth of a goddess then that just means it will be the inevitable truth. Thank you for those words of guidance and I hope that we meet in more pleasant terms if there is a next time.” Adrian stated.

“I will want that as well. After all, anyone would want a good rapport with the Mediator of Death. For my request, you can get your rewards if you go to my den.” The goddess stated as she transformed her body to her real form before vanishing.

The goddess’ true form is that of a Rakshasa that has the form of a Nagini when she gained her divine body. The hunters that were with her suddenly became confused because their employer was there with them and that very employer also went away just now. They looked at Adrian and then towards their acting leader to see what they are supposed to do.

“Are you going to attack when even a goddess retreated?” Adrian stated as his pressure became more pronounced as the goddess that was blocking it earlier is no longer with them.

“We have already done what we must and completed our mission. We will no longer interfere with whatever you are going to do.” The leader of the hunters stated as he was the first one to sprint away while the others followed.

“Thank you, big brother!” Hanu shouted as he hugged Adrian by the legs.

“Stop whatever you are doing. I only saved you because I felt guilty of leaving you with them when I am the reason you are weakened.” Adrian stated.

“Does that mean you would have left me here to deal with them if I was not weakened?” Hanu asked as he was curious.

“Of course.” Adrian flatly replied without a hint of hesitation and lie.

“Wow! That hurt. You could have at least sugar coated it or maybe thought it out for a few seconds.” Hanu stated as he looked like he deflated.

“Anyways, since I already gave something precious in exchange for your life. I guess you would need to repay me because that root was not cheap.” Adrian stated.

“What was that root anyway? It made even a goddess look like she did not want anyone to see it. Was it something like a forbidden item?” Hanu asked as he is also curious on what item could make a goddess suddenly change her mind.

“That root is a dried root of the Tree of Life and Death.” Adrian replied easily but even Hanu froze when he heard.

Hanu might not be as educated but he knows of the powerful trees in the world because of the mutation he got from the Monkey King. It seems that he received some knowledge regarding the things involving the divine as part of it. He also knows that the Tree of Life and Death are a powerful tree that is the root source of life in this universe as per his inherited memories.

“Big brother used that in exchange for my life! I will be forever your little brother that only listens to you. Me and Safed will worship you, big bro!” Hanu stated and even Safed gave a small thumbs up.

“You and Safed as you call him are still one body and soul. Both of you are the same being because he can no longer occupy his body since that was the sacrifice he made to save you. If I extracted his soul then he would be sent to the afterlife but I did not because he wished to always be with you until the end of your life.” Adrian stated as Hanu thought that Safed was a separate entity to him.

“Really! As expected of my best friend and brother. Do not worry because we shall cross the gates of the afterlife together!” Hanu stated as he hugged Safed which shocked even Adrian as he did not expect something like this.

Adrian did not tell Hanu that hugging a spiritual entity should be impossible for the latter but even he knows that the fusion of souls is a subject that even the gods of death do not want to do. It is basically illegal to fuse the souls of two beings together but that only applies to the gods of death. Usually, one soul will just devour the others but Hanu’s case is different as the souls of the two complimented each other.

In fact, if the soul fragment of the monkey king was not present then their souls would have resonated. It might have created something miraculous even for the gods of death. Still, Adrian basically put the gods of death on mute as they were all asking him to check on the soul of Hanu. They were like enthusiastic researchers wanting to know how that is possible.

“Anyways, do you want to come with me to my territory or should I drop you off in a mountain in the central continent? You heard the goddess earlier as you will not be safe here in the southern continent. I can even bring your monkey beast friends with you since that would not be bothersome.” Adrian stated as he did not want to have Hanu no choice on the succeeding matters.
