Chapter 239: Chapter 239: The Three Other Players of Forsaken City [2], Godrick’s Rage
The second person was a woman who stood at around two meters tall, her blue skin and the scales visible across parts of her face making it clear that she belonged to the fish race, while her long white hair flowed naturally behind her as she focused on what she was doing.
In her hands, she held a wrench, and instead of paying attention to the conversation, she seemed fully absorbed in constructing something on the ground, her movements precise and practiced as she worked.
“That’s Oasis,” Alicar explained, “her talent isn’t centered around fighting directly but instead revolves around creation, although that doesn’t make her any less dangerous.”
“Heyo~” Oasis greeted cheerfully without even stopping what she was doing, her voice light as she continued working, “Give me a moment, I’m almost done with this turret, you’ll get to see it in action pretty soon!”
“…Alright,” Leon replied, not adding anything more as he shifted his gaze to the last figure.
The third person sat near the edge of the rooftop, her back partially turned toward them as she looked down at the streets below, showing no interest in the conversation happening behind her.
Even without seeing her face, Leon could tell a few things immediately.
She wore a sleek set of armor and had a glowing rapier resting beside her.
But the most important detail was impossible to miss: she had a dragon tail.
The moment Leon noticed that, his thoughts aligned instantly, as there was only one place in [Eternal Ascension] where dragons came from, and that was an eternal-level world.
“That’s Violet,” Alicar said in a quieter tone this time, as if he was being careful about how he spoke, “she doesn’t talk much, but she’s the strongest among us.”
Leon didn’t reply to that, as he could already feel it himself, because even without her doing anything, the pressure she gave off was noticeably higher than the others.
Still, Leon activated his skill.
Appraisal!
Beep!
[You are not allowed to check this person’s panel.]
As expected, he couldn’t get any information on any of them, which only confirmed what he already knew, that they were far beyond what he could currently measure.
While Alicar, Oasis, and Violet didn’t seem to care about that at all, Godrick reacted differently.
With a heavy step forward, the demon approached Leon, his aura flaring slightly as his gaze locked onto him with clear hostility.
“Who do you think you are, human,” Godrick spoke in a low voice, his tone filled with aggression as he got closer, “trying to look into things that don’t concern you like that?”
Leon sighed internally as he looked at him, ’Here we go again… Another one of these types.’
“If you think you can act however you want here,” Godrick continued, his presence becoming heavier with each step, “then I’ll make sure to put you in your place myself.”
Leon didn’t respond.
He simply stood there, calm and composed, his eyes meeting Godrick’s without any sign of backing down, even as the tension in the air began to rise.
Godrick stood right in front of Leon, towering over him with his massive frame.
His shadow stretched across the cracked rooftop as he looked down with nothing but disdain in his eyes.
He was clearly seeing the human before him as something insignificant, something beneath him, especially considering the fact that Leon had only just arrived while the others had been here for who knew how long.
From Godrick’s perspective, that alone was enough to determine everything he needed to know.
And in a way, he wasn’t entirely wrong.
Leon could already tell that among the five of them, he was currently the weakest.
It was something that didn’t bother him as much as it normally would, because strength in a place like this wasn’t just about raw numbers.
It was also about adaptation, awareness, and the ability to survive long enough to figure things out, and that was something Leon had always excelled at.
Still, even if he was the weakest here currently, that didn’t mean he was helpless.
And it certainly didn’t mean he would just stand there and accept being looked down on like that.
Around them, the other three didn’t seem too interested in stepping in between the two of them.
Though for the first time since Leon had arrived, Violet slightly tilted her head in their direction, her attention shifting just enough to acknowledge what was happening.
That small movement alone was enough to draw Leon’s attention, and as his gaze landed on her fully this time, he finally got a proper look at her appearance.
She was wearing a set of scaled armor that looked both elegant and incredibly durable.
Her presence alone carried a natural authority that made it obvious she wasn’t someone to take lightly.
Her face, however, was what stood out the most.
She was stunning, far beyond anything Leon had expected, with flawless skin that seemed almost unreal, and two curved dragon horns rising from her head.
Her hair flowed down her back in shades of purple mixed with other subtle colors, blending naturally with the long dragon tail that extended behind her, and faint draconic scales could be seen across parts of her face, adding to the uniqueness of her appearance.
The only thing missing were her wings.
’Where are her wings?’ Leon thought immediately, his eyes narrowing slightly as he observed her more closely, ’She must be hiding them somehow.’
As far as he knew, every single dragon-folk possessed wings without exception, meaning that she had the ability to fly.
But before Leon could continue analyzing her any further, the tension in front of him suddenly exploded.
SMASH!
Godrick slammed his fist into the rooftop beneath them, the impact so powerful that it nearly shattered the entire structure.
Cracks spread out in all directions as debris shifted under their feet, the sheer force behind the strike making it clear that he wasn’t joking.
“You show up out of nowhere, act like you belong here, and then stand there like you’re above everyone else,” Godrick growled, his voice filled with rising anger as he stepped closer again, “And you’re a human on top of that, one of the weakest races there is?”
He leaned in slightly, his massive frame looming over Leon as his eyes burned with a dark intensity.
“I’m honestly surprised you even made it here in the first place,” he continued, his tone dripping with mockery, “Has the [God-Rank] assessment become a joke now?”
Noticing how quickly things were escalating, Alicar stepped forward slightly, trying to defuse the situation before it turned into something worse.
“Calm down, Godrick,” the elf said, “If he’s here, then he must have some level of strength, we shouldn’t—”
“Shut the fuck up, elf,” Godrick snapped immediately, cutting him off without hesitation.
For a brief moment, Alicar’s eyes flashed with a golden light, his aura flickering as if he was about to respond.
But just as quickly, he suppressed it, letting out a quiet sigh before stepping back, choosing not to push things any further.
From the outside, it was obvious how this situation looked.
To the others, this seemed like it would inevitably turn into a fight, and if they had to place their bets, the outcome felt obvious.
Godrick was overwhelmingly powerful, far more than Leon at the moment.
And more importantly, they had known him for a long time, while Leon was nothing more than a newcomer who had just arrived.
From their perspective, he was someone who had somehow survived by luck, not someone who could actually stand on equal footing with them.
“Go on,” Godrick grinned, revealing a sharp row of teeth as his aura flared up even more, “Feel it properly, understand what it means to stand in front of me, and realize that you’re about to die.”
And then, without any warning—
BOOM!
A powerful surge of energy erupted from his body, spreading outward like a shockwave as a dark aura filled the air around them, pressing down heavily on everything in its range.
Demonic Fear!
