Chapter 267: Chapter 267: Ascendant Treasure Chest, Every Item is Mine!
The ranking system of [Eternal Ascension] was clear in Leon’s mind right now: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Elite, Epic, Legendary, Mythical, Ancient, and then Ascendant, with even higher tiers existing beyond that, like the Divine rank tied to his [Primordial Dragon of Chaos] egg.
And yet, somehow, he had skipped an entire tier.
“You guys weren’t joking…” Leon muttered, a grin slowly forming on his face as excitement began to build within him, “These rewards are absolutely insane.”
And what made it even better was the fact that, because of his ability, he would receive everything inside that chest. Every single item.
Meanwhile, the others had also received their own rewards based on their contribution, each of them pulling up their panels as they checked what they had obtained.
“What did you get?” Violet asked, her gaze shifting toward Leon as she spoke, “This could be some of our last chests, so we need them to be good.”
“An [Ascendant Treasure Chest],” Leon replied without hesitation, his tone carrying a hint of pride as he spoke, “I bet it’s gonna have something amazing inside.”
But the moment the word “Ascendant” left his mouth, everything froze.
Oasis blinked. Alicar went silent. Even Violet’s expression stiffened slightly.
“…I only obtained an [Ancient Treasure Chest],” Oasis said quietly, almost in disbelief as she looked at Leon, “Wow…”
“I also got an [Ancient Treasure Chest],” Violet added, her voice steady but her eyes narrowing slightly as she processed it, “In fact… nobody here has ever received a chest that good before.”
“Oh,” Leon said, scratching his head slightly as if it wasn’t a big deal, “Well, I guess the system recognized my power and stuff.”
“Are you fucking serious?!” Godrick suddenly roared, his voice echoing throughout the chamber, “This guy shows up and everything just goes his way?! Is his talent related to luck or something?!”
Both Godrick and Alicar had only received [Mythical Treasure Chests], which were still incredibly valuable, but compared to what Leon had just obtained, the difference was overwhelming.
The gap between each tier of chest wasn’t small.
An [Ascendant Treasure Chest] was worth ten [Ancient Treasure Chests], and a hundred [Mythical Treasure Chests], making Leon’s reward completely absurd in comparison.
“Calm down,” Violet said sharply as she shot Godrick a glare, her tone leaving no room for argument, “Leon is our companion, and him becoming stronger benefits all of us.”
“Whatever,” Godrick muttered under his breath, clearly still annoyed as he turned away and pulled out his own chest, placing it on the ground.
The others followed suit, each of them summoning their respective chests and setting them down, preparing to open them and see what they had received.
But just as Leon was about to do the same, he noticed something.
They were all looking at him.
“We’ve never seen an [Ascendant Treasure Chest] before,” Violet explained with a small smile, her tone softer now, “We… want to see what it looks like.”
Hearing that, Leon simply shrugged before reaching into his [Storage Space] and pulling it out without hesitation.
And the moment it appeared… Everyone froze.
“Incredible…”
“This thing is beautiful…”
“I want that too…”
The [Ascendant Treasure Chest] radiated a powerful golden light mixed with streaks of darkness that wrapped around its surface like veins, giving it an aura that felt both divine and ominous at the same time, its size noticeably larger than the others as it sat there.
Even Leon couldn’t help but stare at it for a moment.
It was, without a doubt, the most impressive chest he had ever seen.
“Well…” Leon said finally, breaking the silence as he placed his hand on the chest, “Let’s open them and hope we get something good.”
“Agreed,” Alicar nodded, his eyes still lingering on Leon’s chest, “Let’s see what fate has in store for us.”
Leon took a deep breath, then poured his mana into the lock, feeling it react instantly as the chest responded to him, the energy within it stirring as if it had been waiting for this exact moment.
And then… He opened it.
Ding!
[100% Drop Rate has triggered, all items inside of the treasure chest have been placed into your storage space.]
The familiar notification echoed in Leon’s mind at the exact same moment the others began opening their own treasure chests.
And while the group focused on their rewards one by one, Leon already knew that what he had just received was on a completely different level compared to them.
From the outside, nothing seemed unusual.
Each of them opened their chest, the items appearing in their [Storage Space].
Their faces nodded in satisfaction of excitement.
Leon, however, kept his face completely neutral, not even glancing toward the others as he made sure to hide any reaction that might give him away.
Even though he had already revealed a lot about himself, there was no reason to expose this advantage as well.
Without wasting time, he opened his [Storage Space] and began checking everything he had obtained, starting with the drops from the [Spider Mother], his attention sharpening as each item appeared in front of him.
[Spider Mother Essence: Consuming will increase Constitution by 1,000 and Agility by 800.]
[Spider Crown (Mythical): +5,000 Agility, +3,000 Constitution, +4,000 Strength. Equipping this item will make spider-type monsters less hostile towards you.]
[Sub-Talent Scroll: King of Darkness (S-Level)]
[Skill Book: Dark Silk Threads (Mythical)]
[Spider Mother Head (Trophy): Proof that someone has defeated the “Spider Mother” in the “Forsaken City”]
“Pretty good,” Leon nodded slightly, a faint grin forming as he analyzed the rewards one by one, already thinking about how each of them could be used.
The [Spider Crown] immediately caught his attention, as it was far superior to the [Plant King Flower] he was currently wearing.
It was not only boosting his attributes significantly but also providing a useful passive effect that could reduce hostility from spider-type monsters, which might not be immediately useful but could become valuable in the future.
The [Sub-Talent Scroll: King of Darkness] was undeniably powerful, but Leon didn’t rush to use it, instead placing it alongside the other S-Level scroll he had obtained earlier, still holding back on trying to fuse them, as he wanted to be absolutely certain before taking that step.
As for the [Skill Book: Dark Silk Threads], Leon’s grin widened slightly as he immediately thought of someone else.
“Emilia will definitely make use of this,” he muttered under his breath, her [Silk Bind] skill could evolve if combined with this new ability, as he had no doubt that the fusion would result in something far more powerful.
Finally, he stored the [Spider Mother Head (Trophy)] with the others he had collected so far, his growing collection of proof steadily expanding.
’Once I meet the [Hunter], this is going to be interesting,’ Leon thought, a faint sense of anticipation rising within him, ’But if that’s the case, I might as well collect even more.’
The [Forsaken Minotaur] was still out there, and if it followed the same pattern, it would undoubtedly drop its own trophy as well.
As he scrolled through his storage, Leon also realized something he had completely overlooked in the middle of everything that had happened.
’I still haven’t absorbed the [Forsaken General Essence],’ he noted, slightly surprised at himself for forgetting something like that.
It wouldn’t have made a difference in the battle against the [Spider Mother], but it was still a valuable boost that he had unintentionally ignored due to how focused he had been.
Still, before using any of those items, Leon shifted his attention toward the real prize of this entire battle: the contents of the [Ascendant Treasure Chest].
