- Chapter 293: Three Points of Combat Power per Attribute?

Leon stared at the panel blankly. For a few seconds, he genuinely thought he misunderstood what he had just read.
This reward made absolutely no sense. At least not at first glance.
But the more Leon thought about it… The wider his eyes slowly became.
“Wait a damn minute…”
Ever since entering the [Forsaken City], Leon hadn’t even bothered checking his full status panel because too many things kept happening one after another.
But now, he immediately opened it.
[Constitution: 41,970 + 4197 (+16,850 + 126,034)]
[Strength: 55,549 + 5554 (+22,700 + 167,606)]
[Agility: 45,428 + 4542 (+26,700 + 153,340)]
[Spirit: 47,794 + 4779 (+209,700 + 524,546)]
And because of those absurdly high attributes…
[Combat Power: 419,626 (+2,533,302)]
“Holy shit…” Leon muttered.
Even before the reward fully applied, his combat power had already reached a completely absurd level thanks to all his boosts, sub-talents, equipment, and enhancements.
No wonder his spells had become powerful enough to one-shot beings like the [Forsaken Ghoul].
But then… The numbers suddenly changed.
Leon watched his panel update itself in real time.
[Combat Power: 629,439 (+3,780,778)]
“…Dude.”
Leon’s mind went blank. Nearly four million combat power. That number was completely insane.
Even level 90 monsters would get annihilated by him now.
In fact, even the [Forsaken King] would have stood no chance whatsoever against Leon in his current state.
Then suddenly, another thought appeared inside Leon’s mind, thinking about his combat power from before.
’Wait… then why did [Celestial’s Might] activate against the minotaur, ghoul or the king before?’
Leon frowned slightly. If his combat power had already almost surpassed the king’s, then the passive shouldn’t have activated according to what Leon understood.
He had more [Combat Power] than the both the [Forsaken Minotaur] and [Forsaken Ghoul] after all.
’I thought that the fight against the minotaur wasn’t fair,’ Leon thought, ’I guess it wasn’t just a feeling.’
Perhaps there was yet another condition he still didn’t know about. Or perhaps combat power wasn’t as absolute when it came to celestial’s might in a specific situation?
Still, Leon quickly understood the true meaning behind the reward.
Since the beginning of [Eternal Ascension], everyone believed one universal rule existed: every attribute point equaled two combat power.
That was common knowledge. Absolute knowledge. But now Leon realized something terrifying.
What if that rule only applied to mortals? What if higher beings… followed completely different laws?
Because just changing the multiplier from two to three had increased Leon’s combat power by an absurd amount.
Which meant if gods possessed even higher multipliers… Then their true strength might be far beyond what he thought.
And right as Leon reached that realization—
“GAHHHHHHHH!”
A horrifying scream suddenly erupted from his mouth.
Pain exploded throughout Leon’s entire body so violently that he instantly collapsed onto the ground while clutching his head.
It felt like his soul itself was being ripped apart into thousands of pieces.
Cracks began spreading across Leon’s skin as blinding white light burst from his eyes.
The pain was so overwhelming that Leon genuinely felt death would have been preferable.
“WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!” Alicar shouted while stumbling backward.
“Is this some kind of punishment?!” Oasis panicked.
“No…” Violet interrupted while staring at Leon with trembling eyes. “This is… a reward somehow, I can feel it.”
“How is that a reward?” Alicar asked while staring at him with narrowed eyes, clearly disturbed by what he was seeing. “This looks unbelievably painful.”
“I’m guessing Leon went further than all of us in the [River of Souls],” Violet answered while keeping her gaze fixed on him, her voice calmer than the others even if concern still flickered in her eyes. “The further you advanced, the greater the reward became, so whatever he obtained must be on an entirely different level than ours.”
“It’s true,” Godrick suddenly laughed despite the tension in the air, though even he looked slightly shaken by Leon’s condition. “I don’t know about you guys, but I kept moving until my legs literally stopped working, and the reward I got was insane.”
“S-Same here,” Oasis nodded quickly while pushing her glasses back into place. “My talent became much stronger after coming out of the river, and now I require far less energy whenever I use my inventions while the creations themselves are stronger than before.”
“My strength is constantly multiplied by fifteen now,” Godrick grinned proudly while clenching his fist hard enough for veins to bulge across his arm. “The description during the appraisal wasn’t exaggerating at all. Once I grow stronger, I could destroy anything!”
“My arrows became far more precise and…” Alicar began speaking before suddenly stopping halfway through his sentence as if he had realized he was about to reveal too much, eventually just shaking his head with a small smile.
As for Violet, she once again kept most of her reward to herself.
“…My talent improved as well,” she simply said after a few seconds.
That alone was enough to make the others understand how absurd these rewards truly were.
None of them were weak to begin with, and yet every single one of them had received something capable of drastically changing their future growth.
And yet despite that, all of their attention still remained focused on Leon.
Because compared to them, what he was experiencing looked completely different.
The cracks spreading across his skin continued growing larger while his body shook violently, and the aura leaking from him became increasingly unstable as though something inside his soul was trying to burst outward.
Even breathing seemed painful for him now. The situation only became worse as the minutes passed.
At some point, Leon suddenly slammed his head directly against one of the gigantic pillars supporting the [Colosseum of Ascension], the impact echoing loudly across the massive structure before he staggered backward and collapsed onto the ground once again.
“Leon!” Oasis gasped, trying to rush to see if she could help.
But Violet stopped her and shook her head, “No need, I said this was a reward, he needs to… deal with this himself.”
