- Chapter 321: Forbidden Spell In The Kingdom [2], The Awakener Lord is Here

“HOLD ON,” Iris suddenly shouted as she sensed something absolutely terrible about to happen.
Her magical senses were picking up on the catastrophic amount of mana that Leon was gathering above them.
Leon had already swung his staff at that exact moment, and the sky above the entire kingdom rumbled loudly as it tore open like a wound in the fabric of reality itself.
The massive vortex swirled ominously as dark energy poured from within the rift.
Across the entirety of the [Awakener Kingdom] at that very moment, every single person stopped whatever they were doing to look up at the sky in sheer disbelief and terror at what was manifesting above their heads.
Iris, Marcus, Mathilde and Elliot all looked up toward the vortex as well, though Iris was clearly the one most shocked out of all four guardians given her expertise in magical matters.
“A forbidden spell…” she muttered in pure horror as her face went pale, “Even I do not have access to something like this in my own arsenal…! How is this human even capable of casting something on this level…”
Fwoosh!
She did not have the time to wonder any further about the source of Leon’s power because the forbidden spell’s energy reached its absolute peak at that moment, the massive meteor preparing to come out of the vortex and crash down upon the kingdom at any second.
“What did you just say?” Leon asked in direct response to Iris’ panicked comment, his voice calm and cold despite the chaos unfolding around him.
He could unleash the meteor at any moment now with just a single thought.
A single swift push of his staff would send it plummeting down to earth, and after that, even if he died in the process, then so be it because he was not going to let these people capture him or Celeste without a fight.
“If any of you move even a single inch from where you are standing right now, I am destroying everything,” Leon spoke, his eyes locked onto the four guardians, “We all know perfectly well that none of you will survive.”
The level 100 NPCs standing before him were immensely strong by any reasonable measure, but when faced with the raw destructive power of a forbidden spell, and one as strong as Leon’s [Oblivion Meteor] in particular, they knew deep down that they would not survive the impact if he actually went through with it.
Iris, the strongest mage in the domain herself, would not be able to do much in this situation to stop the spell or protect herself from its effects, no matter how talented she claimed to be.
“We need to call the [Awakener Lord] immediately and tell him what is happening,” Marcus spoke up nervously, a bead of sweat appearing on his forehead.
“Call him from this spot right now, do it quickly, otherwise…” Leon’s eyes glinted with deadly intent.
“YES, we can call him from here!” Marcus hurriedly responded as he tapped an invisible panel in the air and sent a message extremely quickly to their lord, his fingers trembling with barely concealed fear as he typed.
To many of the players around who were just as shocked and scared as the guardians, seeing these powerful level 100 guardians be this terrified of a level 80 player was something entirely new and unexpected.
A player much weaker than all of them in terms of raw [Combat Power] on paper, was forcing them to follow his orders.
“Done,” Marcus coughed nervously as he gazed back at Leon, making absolutely sure that the human did not make any movements that seemed abrupt.
“Remove the cage right now,” Leon asked Iris directly, “From me and from her, both of them, immediately.”
Fwoosh!
The guardian mage swung her staff through the air without any argument, and the two massive silver cages lifted off the ground before disintegrating into harmless particles that scattered on the wind.
Immediately after the cages disappeared, Leon swiftly moved to Celeste’s side to check on her condition and make sure she was not seriously injured.
She seemed to be perfectly fine this time around which was a massive relief to him.
In direct contrast to what Mathilde had done, Marcus had not slammed Celeste into the ground at full strength or hit her violently, which was something Leon quietly appreciated.
And more than anything else in this moment, since Celeste was alive and unharmed, as long as he could find Emilia and regroup with her, the three of them could teleport out of this place using his [World Map] before anyone could stop them.
Yet right as Leon was about to move out and go find Emilia, Leon and Celeste heard a voice coming from directly behind them that made everyone freeze in place.
“I will give it to you, human, that was genuinely impressive,” the deep voice said with a tone of genuine admiration.
Leon instinctively backed away while keeping his eyes locked on both the four guardians and this new figure, and the person that appeared before him was someone he had only seen the silhouette of.
“Awakener Lord,” Leon mumbled under his breath, his grip tightening on his staff and sword.
The air was noticeably cold and heavy around the man standing before him, and the sheer power that he exuded was the strongest in all of [Higher Domain #3] without any question.
It felt like the lord, even though he was also technically a level 100 NPC just like his guardians, would be able to take on all four guardians at the same time without breaking a sweat, and would win easily against them in any fair fight.
