Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights - Chapter 353: Goliath Incarnation

Chapter 353: Goliath Incarnation
A while later, the old man came out and found Godfrey sitting on the roof. “Found a way to make money yet?”
Godfrey shot a glance at the old man, then turned away, ignoring him. There was no way he would allow this old man’s words to make him feel worse. Right now, he had his own promise to account for. So much for hospitality.
He lowered his head to the core in his right hand. It formed right after Miquella died, although not as fast as he expected. It turned out not even completely erasing your foe could stop the formation of their cores.
His eyes narrowed.
The reflection of the core shimmered in his golden irises. This core belonged to a 33.0 Titled god; it would provide an immense boost to his knights, but if he wanted to unseal his next noble knight’s door, Godfrey had to obtain cores for all his Alchemists.
It was big but a necessary bridge to rebuild the order once more. Once they all had the cores, he would have fulfilled all requirements to access other doors; thus, by his own will, he had created space for the rebel Knights.
He did not gain Symbiosis from the Alchemists, but they were indispensable. Not only did the alchemists possess a great amount of information, they could also upgrade his knights and, even better, create more if the situation required it.
They were the most vital part of the order and beyond the oath, since they were its creators and, in a way, they created his identity. They were as important as the king. He was the head, and they were the heart.
He couldn’t function without them, and there would be no order without them either.
As King, he was the bond that kept everything intact, the belief that held the created order together.
’I can’t…’
Instead of doing that, wasn’t it better to give this core to Ballista, who had not received anything in a while?
Trying to get ten cores in order to obtain Abaddon was a stretch, since he would have to kill ten Titled god Tier summons. Even then, he wasn’t certain of convincing Abaddon or if it would work.
Abaddon might be a Titled god with Ancient god Tier potential and with interesting Black-Out State abilities, but he wasn’t ideal.
Using this core might force an evolution in Ballista and evolve him into at least a commander. That boost, with Symbiosis, would make Godfrey much stronger, probably pushing him to the peak of the Titled god Tier.
That would give him a better chance when the Ruination came or when he faced other Titled gods.
With superior points, he would be able to shrug off some strange abilities like the abilities of Invincibles. Those were beings that couldn’t be beaten at their tier; they possessed overwhelming ability that could crush their foe.
Only two people were like that during his high school days. One was the Headmaster, and the other was a senior who had a tiger horse that could literally pause motion.
Had it not been for this superior tier, that battle would have ended in his absolute defeat.
Once he evolved Ballista, even his weakest noble knight would have the strength of a Throne Tier.
Godfrey closed his eyes, and his soul opened its own. His eyes slowly widened as he looked around.
’Is it me, or has the castle changed?’ Godfrey looked around. It had been a while since he entered his soul space and came outside the castle.
From the look of things, becoming a king with authority brought many changes. Now, the castle had a huge throne room in the center. Nine towers were connected to the throne room, each representing a noble knight.
The bright sunlight illuminated his soul space. Till now, he still didn’t understand the sun; was it part of the castle?
It had to be.
It made his own soul space bright and warm, while others had dark soul spaces that seemed as if they teleported into actual space.
When he got to the top of the grand staircase and looked at the mighty door fit for towering giants, it swung inward, revealing his throne room.
A gust of wind blew out.
’So… I’m king now.’ Godfrey said as he walked to his throne and sat down.
The throne room was incredibly massive; even his throne’s backrest was just too long. He looked small in this grand, magnificent space.
It was a throne fit for a dominant king, a being whose presence would dominate the place.
This throne itself was a test to his authority. Should his aura be weak, sitting on the throne itself would be a mockery to himself.
Godfrey’s eyes gleamed as he swung one leg over the other, leaned lazily on the backrest, and propped his cheek with one hand.
He had no issue sitting like a king; he was king. Why would a king try sitting like one? However he sat, it would be a king sitting.
Godfrey’s eyes gleamed brighter. He could feel it; there was something different about him the moment he sat on this throne.
His strength didn’t change, but his demeanor did. “Ballista.”
Godfrey’s voice echoed in the hall. Responding to his call, a portal flared up in the center of the hall, and with light steps that still made armour clink, Ballista emerged.
He went on one knee, lowering his head.
“You called, My King.”
Ballista lifted his head, gazing at Godfrey. There he sat… the unknown king who had become known. A false tale turned real; dying with the order despite its collapse was the best thing.
’If only…’
“Here,” Godfrey said as he sent the core over telekinetically. “It’s for you.” He allowed it to drop into Ballista’s hand.
There was a soft clink when it hit the knight’s gauntlet.
Truly, he did not want to use a human’s fire because of his own belief and fear of what it would lead to, but Miquella wasn’t a human anymore. In fact, all Fanatics were not humans in his eyes.
Ballista wrapped his fingers around the core, and the mana flowed through his arm to the rest of his body.
He remained on one knee. As all the mana entered his body, his golden armour unleashed a bright light. His silhouette increased in size as he grew to ten feet. Previously, he had been shorter than the females.
His helmet changed. Those sharp blades that made his crown changed. It was like that helmet was pulled off and he donned another. This one had a white hoodie, shrouding his face in darkness.
Ballista rose to his feet. His upper body could match other knights, specifically his upper chest, shoulders, and arms, which were used in pulling his great bow.
But his lower body was leaner, giving him a lesser build compared to the others.
“Thank you, My King.” He pounded his chest and dropped to one knee once more.
Godfrey’s eyes went to the translucent monument beside Ballista.
Name: Knight General Of the Golden Order.
Type: Hybrid
Tier: 20.6 (Origin Tier)
Potential: 25.0
Description: [Master of the Great Bow. Unmatched in Archery across all of Pathan. Late stages of alchemical alterations have been unlocked, granting this knight access to greater strength; a Time-Rune Falcon mount bound to this knight. Its power can only work on his weapons and itself. A Goliath Incarnation, a Pathan Goliath whose tier will always be 3.0 higher than him without restrictions of potential.]
’…’
Godfrey re-read the description several times. Not only did Ballista get an aerial mount, which probably might have been his mount before Pathan collapsed, but a Goliath Incarnation?
What was that? Did it mean a giant?
It would be his Incarnation.
This was a bit confusing; he had to see this Goliath. Ballista might have only risen to the Origin Tier, but his abilities and gains were something else.
“Ballista. I want to see your Goliath Incarnation.” The moment he said that, Ballista froze before Godfrey.
The knight was more shocked than Godfrey. His own shock carried a lot of emotions, and for the first time, he didn’t do what Godfrey asked of him.
Godfrey noticed this was a sensitive topic, so he sent Ballista back to his chamber and went to the meeting hall, which was below his throne room.
Right there, he found the Alchemists. They sat there, probably conversing about ideas in silence. They probably spoke in each other’s minds at this point.
Who knew what they were thinking about?
But this could wait aside for now; he had questions.
“You want to know about the Goliath?” the Chief Alchemist asked before Godfrey could open his mouth.
At this point, Godfrey couldn’t be shocked by his Alchemists anymore. They were weird and mysterious; it was best to focus on what brought him here.
“You know what it is. Good. I want to know, what is a Goliath Incarnation?”
All the alchemists looked at themselves and back at Godfrey.
“Very well.”
