Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 1016: Grave?

The date was fairly fun. The two of them went from one side of the city to another, exploring all the clothing shops and restaurants.
Since he had an infinite amount of money, he never held back. If she so much as glanced at something once, Rael went ahead and bought it.
This continued on for several hours, as they did nothing but chat, eat, and buy stuff… It was fun. Rael definitely hadn’t had this much fun in a very long time.
If anything, he thought he couldn’t have fun at all, since he knew for a fact that all the bullshit he had been dealing with in the last couple of years was just too much. But alas, it seemed like he could have fun in even the most basic things every now and again, and that prospect alone made him happy.
Glancing at the smiling Lilith, he contemplated if maybe she was the one who was making him happy, rather than the events themselves. It really was like that, and judging from the smile on her face, he was sure she felt the same way.
Except, he completely misread her. Lilith was only happy because she was trying her best to see what could piss Rael off. Shopping for the most ugly clothes, eating disgustingly demonic food… It wasn’t that she hated him, but she just wanted a bit of petty revenge for leaving her behind those couple of times.
Yet no matter what she did, it never worked. Therefore, she gave up on it entirely and decided to lead him out toward one spot in particular.
“Keep up with me, okay? It’s a bit far away,” she said.
Rael raised a brow. “Are we going to a place similar to the one we bathed in last time?”
She shook her head. “Not really. This place, I’ve never actually visited. But I did hear from my father that it was where he first met my mother, so there should be a different species of demons there entirely. Maiden Demons.”
Hmm…
That sounded a bit silly.
Rael was always under the impression that demons were these carnal, desire-driven creatures, and yet she just told him there was a race that was closer to maidens than to demons, but were still demons… Yeah. He was very curious now.
“Alright. Lead the way, then.”
With that, Lilith kicked off the ground, vanishing into thin air. Her speed was no joke, but for Rael, all he needed to do was feel her presence and he could effortlessly follow her. And so, that was exactly what he did, until eventually they arrived in front of a large cathedral several thousand kilometers away from the city they had just been in.
Rael didn’t think much of it at first, since he had seen a much bigger cathedral — Adam’s cathedral. Speaking of Adam, Rael had glanced at what he had been doing these past couple of years, and apparently, after Solenne stepped down from her position, she freed all the people she had under her wing.
So even those in her army were freed. Those that were in the middle of their training had also been let go, and thus they went on to live better lives. The Five Seats were the same, and the one person whom Adam had been dying to save since the start, Alcetas, was now back.
Granted, Alcetas looked like a stick figure now, since he was just so damn skinny. But oh well, Rael knew that popping in there for no particular reason was just bound to cause some misunderstandings and drama, so he didn’t.
Back to the present, Rael glanced ahead at the cathedral, trying his best to see whatever was special about it. Yet just then, he spotted that under the cathedral, there was a whole civilization of demons. They didn’t look like demons in the slightest, however.
They had angel-like wings and even halos. The only demonic aspects of them were their long, sharp nails and miniature horns poking out from their heads. In short, they weren’t demonic at all.
“Heh. They’re not that bad,” Rael said.
Lilith turned around with a confused look. “Did you fall for someone already? They’re all maidens, you know that, right?”
Rael scoffed. “No shit. I was talking about how interesting they looked. I would be down to play dress-up too, since I can technically change into whatever form I want, but eh… What do you think?”
Although she didn’t expect the question, she answered honestly.
“Uh… I prefer you just being yourself. So don’t change into whatever metaphysical form you’re thinking of. Just be Rael. That’s all I care about.”
He gave her a nod, then a thumbs up. Afterwards, he went up to the cathedral alongside Lilith and then entered it. As expected, these people tried hard enough to make it a front for what was happening under the cathedral, so there were a bunch of demons in robes that looked nothing like the Maiden Demons.
The moment those demons saw Rael and Lilith, they immediately approached them.
“Greetings, visitors. To what do we owe this visit?” They bowed.
Rael turned to Lilith, and she soon spoke up:
“Hello. I’d like to visit Celeste’s grave.”
Celeste?
“Celeste’s grave? I’m afraid we have no idea what that is. We may be a place of holy nature, but we don’t collect dead bodies here, miss. So if that’s all you’re looking for, then I recommend you turn back around and look elsewhere.”
They were lying.
Not to mention, Lilith wasn’t exactly happy about being turned down like this either, so she went ahead and took a step forward, menacingly glancing at the demon.
For a moment, there was only deathly silence, until finally, she spoke up:
“I’m looking for Celeste because I’m her daughter. I came to pay my respects, so if you’re not planning to allow me to do so, then I suggest you be prepared for the hell I’m about to unleash on this place.”
