It was the perfect way to advertise McTony’s restaurant. An item that would magically increase one’s Aubility Power would be very much sought after.

Not only was it cheap, but its effect wasn’t even lower than those elite pills that the Conglomerates and the Upper Echelons hoarded for themselves.

If they sponsored a contestant to eat chocolate ice cream and they began performing well during the tournament, then they’d be able to prove their claim that it indeed increased Aubility Power.

But the problem now was that they had no Knight to sponsor.

Almost all of them were already sponsored by the Conglomerates and the Upper Echelons even before the tournament was announced! Those ultra talented Knights were already sponsored simply because of their potential.

And even if they did find a Knight, they had to convince them to take payment in the form of ice cream, which without context, would be a very easy no from the Knights.

They couldn’t even use Jaku for this. Even though Jaku would be participating in the tournament tomorrow, he wouldn’t be the best person to show the effects of the ice cream.

That lazy Dragonborn was already powerful without it. He didn’t need the ice cream to take the top spot if he stopped being lazy about it.

So if they used the chocolate ice cream on Jaku, it would send the wrong signal to the general public.

What they needed was a swordsman who was infamous for his… for lack of a better term… bad skill. Then once he ate chocolate ice cream, he would suddenly explode in power and allow him to defeat opponents he couldn’t before.

Once Michael told Sheina of this plan, she immediately nodded. “Very well, Lord Michael. I shall have the Shadow Orcs spy on the current line up of competitors in the exhibition match tomorrow.”

And before Michael could even form his next sentence, Sheina already had a new paper right in front of her hands, delivered by a Shadow Orc that emerged from out of nowhere.

“Ah, here it is, Lord Michael. Chief Narito and Chief Sasuki nominate a Knight called Sir Fenix for us to sponsor. He fits all of our criteria perfectly.”

Michael was handed a very detailed background check made by the Shadow Orcs.

His eyes began to widen as he realized that this background check contained very intimate details about Fenix, including his daily schedule for going to the latrines.

Michael certainly didn’t need to know that. So, he skipped to the part that was highlighted by Sheina.

And after reading through it, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for the Knight

It seemed that Fenix was once a talented Knight who was said to have enough potential to go toe to toe against Sir Arthur himself. However, an unfortunate accident caused his potential to get cut short.

A literal explosive encounter with a group of thieves caused a metal to get lodged inside Fenix’s heart. And in order to save his heart, the best surgeons did what they could to get the shrapnel out of his body.

Thankfully, they did, but at the cost of Fenix’s potential. The apothecaries couldn’t fix the damage in the Knight’s heart, causing his Aubility Power to go haywire.

It was now widely known that Fenix’s Aubility Power was widely inferior to his peers. Even if he was in the 7th stage of the Body Formation realm, his Aubility Power was only equivalent to the 4th stage.

Even Fenix’s sword skills weren’t inferior to the best Knights, the fact that his Aubility Power was always lagging 3 stages behind his true cultivation meant that he never had any chance in winning the exhibition match.

In fact, the only reason why he was still in the competition was because he was still titled as a Knight.

Michael found it weird that they were using the same tactics as assassins, but they were in a hurry. They need to sponsor Fenix as fast as possible so that they could go right on time for tomorrow’s exhibition match.

Then, he turned to Remy.

“Remy, can you work on the chocolate ice cream and make it better?”

The little chef’s eyes glistened with excitement. “You got it, bro Mike!”
