- Chapter 2062: The Struggle Of A Tormented Soul

“What have I done with my entire life?”
“Worthlessly scraping by, only to be recruited by the King…”
“Fighting for my life since the moment I was born.”
“All for what?”
“To die here?”
“To watch my master die?”
“After everyone tried to save me… again?”
“How many times, Beelzebub…”
“Just how many times will you let them down?”
“Just when you finally found people who cared about you… are you really going to throw it all away?”
His soul stirred. Even as the ritual was interrupted, even as the soul cauldron shattered, even as his evolution was halted, and even as his body burned in agony.
His incomplete form twitched violently beneath the soil. Slowly, painfully, it began to move—to crawl. Every tremor, every gasping breath fueled by raw desperation.
His shattered heart began to beat anyway, evolution be damned.
Because the only thing left driving him forward was his endless, burning desire to avenge her.
“How long will I let them take everything from me?”
His eyes turned bloodshot as torn flesh continued leaking the vast energy meant for his evolution.
“For how long you will let them trample on those you love?!”
His mangled hands bled profusely as they slowly grew larger and sharper. From the ruined blood and flesh, a new skin began to form—hard as metal, cold and unforgiving.
“FOR HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP BEING TRAMPLED ON?!”
With a roar of pure defiance, Beelzebub’s spiritual soul surged.
He was a spirit now, no longer a normal living being. Spirits were ethereal entities capable of reassembling themselves even after being destroyed.
And with all this surplus energy still raging through his broken, bleeding body…
What he needed now was one final push to pull himself back together.
But…
How long would he keep relying on others?
“Why can’t you stand on your own, Beelzebub? They’ve already helped you once—do you really want even more?!”
He had reached his breaking point. Frustration boiled inside him as everything everyone had fought for was being ruined, falling apart right before his eyes.
What could someone like him possibly do now? With a body torn apart, a fading life force, and even his spiritual power failing to respond.
“No…”
He couldn’t wait for anyone anymore. He had to act. He had to move. For her.
He seized his own spiritual soul and crushed it harder, forcing the blood within it to bind his broken pieces back together.
“I won’t die…! I WON’T!!!”
With furious agony, he began reassembling himself. His torn body forcibly dragged the leaked energy back inside while absorbing anything it could reach in the surroundings.
“Sylphy…! Master…! Please…!”
Tears streamed from his eyes as he suddenly sensed something.
Thousands of pieces stirring, moving toward him.
“Huh?!”
Though he hadn’t seen what happened, he had heard and felt it. He heard the screams. He heard Sylphy lose against the new enemy.
He had hoped she could recover like him, but something entirely different was occurring. All her pieces were moving toward him—and toward what lay below.
“The Dungeon Core…”
Corrupted by the Curse of Lolth and coated in Miasma, it should have been impossible to refine. Yet whatever remained of her was drawn there.
Each piece of her, from what Beelzebub could sense in his recovering state, had transformed. No longer flesh, they had become small plants, branches, and ethereal spiritual energy.
Her body had been torn apart. Her soul had been shattered.
Nobody—not even the gods—should have been able to survive such a horrific ordeal…
And yet she…
“Sylphy…!”
Crawling underground toward the place where her pieces gathered, he called out to her.
“You’ve helped me so much. The least I can do is help you! Over here!”
Knowing her senses had been dulled and that she was moving mostly on instinct toward a powerful source of energy, Beelzebub guided her fragments.
Aquarina, still fighting desperately to buy time, suddenly noticed something.
“…?!”
Even in her monstrous form, she felt it.
“S-Syl… Sylphy?!”
But with Dimenion right in front of her, she could do nothing but continue fighting. He moved with terrifying ease, dodging or enduring her attacks while trying to suppress her without killing her.
The only reason she was still alive was that he considered her more valuable alive than dead. She would abuse that mercy for as long as she could.
“Whatever you’re doing… hurry!”
Aquarina’s bond with Sylphy poured spiritual energy, soul essence, and mana into her beloved.
Every dormant piece of hers began to glow. The fragments of her consciousness slowly reached for unity.
To achieve that, they needed a massive source of power—which they instinctively chased. As Beelzebub’s body warped in strange ways, the power of everything he had absorbed suddenly surged outward, twisting into a deep, swirling darkness that wrapped around him and forced him back together.
“This power…?”
As he guided Sylphy’s fragments toward him and the core below, he felt his own strength rising and transforming. Every piece of her seemed to be channeling something greater.
“Alchemy?!”
The realization hit him with shock and disbelief. The power of alchemy was repairing him.
Every one of her fragments was helping him. And when they finally drew close enough, Beelzebub’s newly evolved body had nearly reached the same level of power.
“W-What is this?!”
His eyes widened as his aura surged violently. The gifted energies coalesced, and a powerful core began to form within his spirit.
The space around him was warped. Inside him, an entirely new space began to take shape, endless power surging from within.
The laws of the world suddenly became clear to him, and he attained authority over them.
All the while, her fragments continued drawing closer. Then, even before her physical pieces could unify, her Divine Consciousness fragments merged.
Intelligence bloomed once more. All her memories reunited into a single Will.
Her Mind.
A surge of warmth flooded Beelzebub’s core as Sylphy’s consciousness fully awakened.
“Sylphy…!”
Her presence brushed against his soul like a gentle breeze cutting through flames. For the first time since the nightmare began, something other than rage and despair filled him. Hope. Relief. And an overwhelming determination.
