- Chapter 733 - 733: Showdown Devil VS Demon (part 5)

To confirm his theory, Daimon extended his right hand and green energy gathered to form a green energy wood bow that was then clad in brown-red metal energy.
“Boooom!”, Daimon pulled on the string releasing an arrow which went through the golden imp making it disappear before it landed on the ground where he was supposedly standing, leaving a small crater behind since the arrow was also reinforced with Femi’s energy
“Hoh, no green grass patch this time, so that metal devil mana is not inherently negative oriented”, said Daimon as he let go of the bow which remained floating next to him similar to how the reinforced wood energy shield was still floating behind of him, protecting his back.
‘Damn bastard, he can keep more than one of those annoying combined energy constructions at the same time, isn’t he a fucking knight!’, cursed Marcus to his insides.
Unlike mages, knights start focusing in refined energy control after their initial stages, around when they develop will manipulation at the Lord rank, Marcus could still somewhat accept it if Daimon was using martial arts to condense battle aura weapons, or even if he was just shaping his battle aura in the form of weapons without using a technique, considering that in his mind the masked silver haired youth is a follower of Adam, meaning that he has to be a remarkable talent among “normal” people, especially because Adam loathed having male subordinates.
But then here he was manipulating those strange energies at the same time shaping them as he wants without calling out the name of a technique or anything, it didn’t make sense for him.
‘Damn Adam, how much power did that bastard bestow to this guy!’, ultimately Marcus reached the conclusion that Adam was stupid enough to grant power to the subordinate that had teamed up with some of the girls he wanted for himself, to betray him when he was busy doing whatever was keeping from arriving for their ultimate battle.
“Black Devil Hell Step!”, returning to the real world as he saw the reinforced green energy wood bow being pointed at him, Marcus’s legs exploded in black flames as he flashed away from his previous position.
That didn’t prevent Daimon from shooting the arrow he had condensed on the bow, with the help of the green wood energy mask covering his face, he predicted where was Marcus going to appear.
“Damn it!”, loudly cursing at the previous, golden sparks appeared around Marcus’s legs and just when the arrow was about to hit him, he turned into a black flash that shot itself towards Daimon.
“Boooom!”, the black flash in which Marcus had turned fiercely collided against the reinforced wood energy shield that Daimon had moved to block in front of him, creating a loud explosion.
He actually managed to push the shield until it nearly reached Daimon but depleted the momentum of his attack with that, ultimately retreating as he felt wary of the green energy burning on Daimon’s fist which could take his dark flames and use them against him.
Of course, Daimon wasn’t planning to simply let him go after he attacked him, but just when he was about to throw a punch with his right fist which was covered in the brown-red metal armor that was also burning in bright green nature energy, the haunted locust tree general appeared out of nowhere descending from the sky with his halberd aiming at Daimon’s fist.
“Shattering Fist”.
“Clang!”, the halberd which had a golden gleam on its blade after being repaired earlier, blocked Daimon’s attack, now, on the outside it would look like Daimon was the one losing here because even though the attacks tied, he had used a martial art accompanied by the combination of Tessa and Femi’s energies.
But that was the case at all, in fact it was Marcus the one that was gritting his teeth at the sight of the haunted locust tree general not being able to gain the advantage in the clash.
‘What the hell, the haunted locust tree general is the trump card of the living hell jungle, the black flame horse used a movement spell, his physical prowess is being further enhanced by the devil mana of the mind burning hell and he has an energy arm created with the power of the golden opportunity mountain hell, so why is it a damn tie!!!’, cursed the devil ruler system user.
He had stacked so many things in the previous attack of the haunted locust tree general, hoping to take Daimon by surprise only to realize that in that “overbuffed” state the general could only equal the enemy’s attack.
“Golden Opportunity Mountain Hell, Treasure Boost!”, this time Marcus did call out the name of the spell which he had used earlier to explosively increase the effect of his movement spell in order to dodge the arrows which Daimon had shot his way while using the green energy wood mask to perfectly target him, but instead of boosting a spell, it was the general’s weapon the one that received the buff.
“Booom!”, a loud shockwave expanded with Daimon and the general as the origin, as the halberd suddenly grew heavier and sharper.
“Crack!”, the ground below Daimon cracked under the increased pressure coming from the halberd that remained unaffected by Tessa’s energy, since it wasn’t of a negative oriented nature at its origin, though being devil mana Daimon was sure that could change with a single order from Marcus.
“Clang!”, a loud metallic sound broke the stalemate as Daimon slapped the halberd to the side with his free hand, which also had an energy condensed gauntlet, however its composition was inverted when compared to the one protecting his right hand.
In other words, the gauntlet was created with Tessa’s energy and reinforced externally with Femi’s one, since the devil mana that the general used was unaffected by Tessa’s nature energy, then Daimon resorted to the good old brute force which perfectly aligned with Femi’s energy.
“So, the golden range area works by consuming itself in order for that imp to cast some really annoying support spells”, said Daimon as he saw the general returning to Marcus’s side after the golden sparks left the halberd, making Marcus snort to his insides, he of course had no desire to confirm the enemy’s words, unfortunately he wasn’t the only one who knew how his powers worked.
“Hahaha, that’s amazing, a knight who can inverse the composition of energy constructions powered with an energy that should be foreign to him and also maintain four of them at the same time so effortlessly, with that level of energy manipulation becoming a magic knight is guaranteed, not bad kid!”, cheered the ghost-like administrator as she saw the gauntlets with opposite compositions covering Daimon’s hands to then add.
“Here a little reward for such an entertaining movement, the golden opportunity hell can boost different aspects of whatever its master’s want, whether it is speed, destructiveness, toughness, sharpness, effectiveness and the like of spells, lineages, treasures, you name it and it can be boosted, it was created after the desire of greed for power after all, so be careful when you see those golden sparks, of course a corresponding price must be paid in exchange though~”.
Marcus had a vein bulge on his neck upon listening to Lezabel reveal the trump card of the golden opportunity mountain hell, the power to boost different aspects of whatever he wanted with the same spell at the same time by just paying more of the golden mountains as a price.
It might not sound that impressive, but think about it, even Jasmine who is basically an unmatched support mage can’t boost all aspects with a single spell, well, not on others since her innate ability only worked on herself as of current.
That being said, the light princess totally outmatches the golden imp who is the one casting those buffs, because Jasmine is completely capable of protecting herself and can even offer support directly in the battlefield, so the fierce light princess is a better support than the imp.
“I see, thanks for the reminder”, said Daimon to the administrator, he had no idea why she was going so far as to reveal so much about Marcus’s spell, though he more or less had an idea about it after feeling firsthand how the halberd went from exuding power on the Lord rank to the Arch rank temporarily a moment ago, but in any case, this worked in his favor so he didn’t care,
“You damned bastards how dare you chatter so comfortably in front of me!”, shouted Marcus whose eyes got bloodshot.
“Black Devil Hell Step!”, with a loud voice, both Marcus and the black flame horse had their legs explode in black flames which then were met with golden sparks as a small piece of one of the golden metal mountains was consumed, turning those two into black flashes that moved all over the place trying to disorient Daimon with their speed.
Imagine Marcus surprise when instead of powerlessness, Daimon’s feet were covered in Femi’s brown-red metal energy to then burn in green nature energy as well.
“Swift Step”, Daimon disappeared from plain sight, demonstrating that it wasn’t only attack type martial arts the ones he could more or less properly pull off now that had the support of those two’s combined energies, movement ones were also within possibilities.
And that wasn’t all, he also wasn’t limited to close range attack type martial arts as well.
“Shattering Arrow Rain”, appearing above those two with the reinforced green energy wood bow and the gauntlets still covering his hands, Daimon pulled the string of the bow to then release a barrage of both brown-red metal energy arrows burning in Tessa’s energy and bright green wood arrows reinforced with Femi’s one.
“Boooom!”, continuous explosions echoed through the vicinity as energy arrows with different effects rained down upon Marcus and the general, as well as the nearby ground, resulting in large veil of dust being raised due to the multiple impacts.
Once the dust was cleared, the sight of the haunted locust tree general whose golden energy arm had expanded and transformed into a shield with which he blocked in front of Marcus and himself, was revealed.
The golden energy shield had many arrows stuck on it and there were also broken pieces where the arrows that had Femi’s energy covering them externally, had landed.
In contrast, there were many new patches of lively green grass on the ground where the metal energy arrows burning in Tessa’s energy had ended.
Seeing the disbelief in Marcus face, Daimon coldly laughed to his insides, the devil ruler system user thought that he could only use punches or kicks with the power of martial arts, nothing that included external release of energy, since he wasn’t powering them but combining the power of a pure martial art and the energies that enhanced his body.
However, he overlooked one simple fact, though less fancy and smaller in terms of area of effect, there are martial arts with external release that can be used with just one’s body, namely those that are based in weapon wielding.
For example, the arrow rain from earlier, the power of that martial art came from both the projectiles and bow used which were indeed special, but also from the grip strength of the one using the bow.
So, with the extra strength Daimon could attain thanks to the gauntlets, he added more power to the arrows condensed with those two’s energies and the result was an attack with the power of a martial art with external release.
That being said, Daimon had reached the limit of the number of energy constructions he could continuously keep up at the same time since he had both gauntlets and boots, as well as the shield and the bow as of current.
‘Luckily, the arrows don’t count since they are meant to be destroyed after landing’, he thought as he dispelled the bow, to then change weapon, making a brown-red metal energy spear which was burning in bright green energy appear in front of him.
In case you haven’t realized it yet, Daimon also managed to project Femi’s energy separately from his body, as the base of a construction instead of just reinforcing it like with the shield which had Tessa’s energy as the base, earlier he did it in the form of arrows and now in the form of a spear.
It might seem like the restrictions on Femi’s energy to which Daimon was subjected are laxer than with her, because the dwarf princess only created a separate condensation of her energy when she obliterated the enemy with that giant hammer after she had completely tempered her skin.
But do remember that the limitations on their challenges are not the same, Femi’s zone of comfort included the usage of her hammer as her fighting style used to be only “Gaia Smithing”, but now she also had “Gaia Forge” in her repertory, so that’s why weapon creation and weapon usage was restricted for her, she had to fight with her body only.
In Daimon’s case, leaving aside the fact that he is not fighting as a system user, sure he used Disaster normally but he was mainly restricted to have no techniques and only be able use the silver energy, probably because what characterize him is the large number of spells and innate abilities, he has given his unique capacity to not be restricted in terms of affinities, which grants him a terrifying battle prowess.
Though one could see that he has advanced in terms of the challenge of the Blood Prison realm, because he had obtained the ability to transform his own energy into the ones of others which again gave him a wide variety of uses that indirectly increased his battle prowess, though he still couldn’t use techniques as of current, so he was slowly but surely getting past the harsh part of the challenge and approaching the reward, it’s also worth mentioning that unlike others he has yet to clear his own personal challenge as well, since his black sea emblem requires him to kill the Lords, not their alter egos but the real ones.
“Swift Step”.
Anyway, back to the fight, Daimon disappeared the next second, making Marcus mentally order the golden imp to cast his spell, which resulted in a piece of a golden mountain disappearing, as a result the golden energy arm repaired itself and turned into a barrier that covered the two of them.
‘You want to directly swing that spear at me, dream on!’, thought Marcus, since the spear used Femi’s energy as the base and had Tessa’s one burning around it, the devil system user guessed that Daimon wanted to bypass the general and directly attack him, using the nature energy’s power to turn Marcus’s dark flames against him.
“Boooom!”, however, the heavy loud impact made Marcus’s smile stiffen, up-close he saw that the spear’s colors had inverted, the base was the bright green energy and the external layer was the brown-red metal energy one, which in other words mean that it had high destructive physical power instead.
‘No way, I clearly saw it and it was the other way around!’, cursed Marcus as black flames exploded on his and the horse’s legs, but before he could open a path at the back of the golden energy barrier for them to retreat, Daimon tightened his grip on the spear as he said.
“Piercing Thrust”, thanks to the gauntlets and a martial art, Daimon pushed the spear frontwards, directly breaking through the golden energy barrier to then pierce the head of the black flame horse… killing it on the spot.
“Crack!”, the shockwave that followed the thrust type martial art, blasted the ground and sent both Marcus as well as the haunted locust tree general flying backwards, what happened was simple, making usage of his monstrously good energy control ability, Daimon had swapped the composition of the spear at the last second.
In other words, he set a trap and Marcus swallowed the hook, line and sinker as he specially reinforced the barrier against energy attacks instead of physical ones so that the nature energy wouldn’t reach him, resulting in the black horse dying, which meant that the haunted locust tree general lost the boost from the wraiths that were coming out of the corpse of the horse the next second, apparently, they could only possess “living” beings.
“Screeee!”, weakened since their possessed host had died while they were controlling it, the wraiths failed to dive into the ground and were burned into ashes by Daimon’s silver energy, which nearly made Marcus suffer a stroke.
There were still some in the burning mind hell, but the wraith in his gauntlets was about to be fully consumed and it’s not like he had an infinite number of them and he needed to leave a couple there at least so that the large area field of illusions would still be at active at all times.
“Ahhh, that’s enough you fucking bastard!”, roared Marcus, there were a couple of hellscapes which he was keen on keeping for his clash with Adam, but now even the black flame horse was dead so he didn’t care anymore.
“Page seven”, his anger had made a full circle and he was calm again as he ordered the devil librarian to shuffle through the pages of the black book, until it reached the desired one.
The ground behind Marcus dyed pitch black before a building made out of darkness emerged, covering a hundred meters of area, the thing looked like a smaller version of one of the famous ancient buildings in Rome back at earth.
“Black Devil Contract, Beast Colosseum Hell!”, and as if the fact that the devil mana on that hellscape was shadow attributed wasn’t enough to confirm who was the one whose sacrifice gave Marcus the base to create that page of the grimoire, he directly used the trump card of that hellscape.
“Beast Colosseum Hell, Devil Shadow Lion Queen!”, the spiked metal gates of the colosseum opened, giving way to a large lioness, it wasn’t an energy condensation but a living being similar to the black horse that had died not too long ago, which by the way was absorbed into its own shadow which then was dragged into the colosseum hellscape behind of Marcus, before its gate closed.
“Roaaar!”, with a loud roar, the shadow lioness then jumped into Marcus’s shadow, making a certain undead head maid coldly snort from within Daimon’s shadow, unfortunately she knew that Daimon wanted to fight the enemy by himself, so she couldn’t join the fight.
It was a bit too much, considering that she had felt another shadow user appearing not that long ago, but she didn’t interfere in that fight out of respect.
That didn’t prevent her from joining the group of girls that were looking up for a good fight in the near future alongside Narasha though.
‘Humph, once I’m done instructing the new staff, I’ll show them who is the best at helping from the shadows’, cutely thought Rita as she hugged her pillow while she laid down in her room at the giant shadow castle inside Daimon’s shadow.
