Shadows of the Deep Space - Chapter 1794 - 558: Lord of Death (Part 2)

Emkain spoke with his brows tightly knit.
“Exactly, and that’s the trickiest part.”
An Ruoxue agreed.
Coronan just silently observed the base city, no one knew what he was thinking.
“Coronan, got any good ideas?”
Seeing that Coronan hadn’t said anything, Emkain opened his mouth to ask.
“I don’t have any great ideas either, but I’m waiting for someone.”
Coronan said calmly.
“Who?”
Emkain asked in confusion.
“He’s here. Let’s go down and wait for him.”
At that moment Coronan saw a jeep driving out from the base city.
“Alright.”
An Ruoxue and the others responded at once.
Before long, that jeep drove to the foot of the small peak.
A dark-skinned, tough-looking middle‑aged man opened the car door and stepped out.
He turned his head, looking around, as if searching for something.
Just then Coronan and the others dropped their camouflage and revealed themselves, speaking up.
“Over here!”
The man was startled, but when he saw Coronan he immediately said respectfully,
“Lord Coronan, sorry to have kept you waiting.”
“Not at all, you’re just on time. Let me introduce you—this is General Sailuka, he’s currently serving in the Viasela underground base.”
Coronan introduced him to Emkain and the others.
“Perfect. Sailuka, you should know the situation inside very well, right?”
Emkain and the others brightened at once when they heard this.
“Very well. The Sin Domain Base is supposedly for resettling the families of the Abyss of Descent troops, so they’ll have no worries… but that’s all a front. The entire underground base has already been converted into a giant concentration prison. All the families are locked inside—no freedom whatsoever, and the conditions are terrible. Only the families of higher‑ranking officers get slightly better quarters; the rest are in a dreadful state. Quite a few have already died of illness.”
Sailuka briefly laid out the situation.
“Fanluo really isn’t even pretending to be human anymore. So how do we get the people inside out?”
Emkain immediately asked.
“Tomorrow afternoon we rotate shifts. My brothers and I will be in charge of internal security then. At that time you can move in, and we’ll coordinate with you to extract them.”
Sailuka said to Coronan and the others.
“Good, we’ll do it that way.”
Coronan answered in agreement.
…
The next night.
Inside the Sin Domain Base command room.
A middle‑aged man in a Vice Admiral’s uniform, with a beer belly and a face full of flab, sat in his chair with a woman in a sexy gauze dress in his arms, leisurely sipping fine wine.
Just then, a short man with tiny eyes walked over with a face full of smiles and said obsequiously,
“Lord Quibi.”
“Hodin, what is it?”
Quibi glanced at him and said.
“My lord, those imprisoned lowborn still won’t behave. They keep shouting every day about wanting to go home.”
Hodin said with a smile.
“You need me to teach you something this trivial?”
“I’m just worried if we’re too rough, when Commander Misa and the others come back…”
“Hmph, they have to be able to come back first. And even if they do, they might already be prisoners themselves.”
Quibi said coldly.
“You’re wise, my lord!”
Hodin flattered him respectfully.
Looking pleased with himself, Quibi raised his wineglass—when a shrill alarm suddenly blared.
Quibi jumped in shock, the red wine spilling from his hand, and then he shouted in fury,
“What the hell is going on?”
The operator reported in terror,
“My lord, we’ve detected the Holy Shadow Fortress—the Old King’s Army is coming in hot!”
“Put it on screen, now!”
Quibi shoved the beauty in his arms straight to the floor and spoke in a bit of a panic.
The operator immediately went to work, and the Optical Device threw the image up.
They saw the Holy Shadow Fortress leading a swarm of ships and the Mechanical Army straight at them, unleashing a ferocious assault on the defending ships and forces.
“Hurry! Request reinforcements from Ikafata!”
Quibi gave a flustered order.
“My lord, the signal is being jammed!”
The operator said in panic.
“Damn it! Send someone for help, now!”
Hearing that, Quibi smashed his wineglass onto the floor and roared in rage.
“Yes, sir!”
Everyone present, seeing Quibi enraged, answered in terror.
Hodin then cautiously asked,
“My lord, what do we do now?”
“Hodin, you take men and keep a close watch on the families of Misa, Deshier and the others. I’m going to deal with these bastards!”
Quibi’s expression shifted, then he spoke to Hodin.
“Understood!”
Hodin answered respectfully at once.
…..
In the starry sky.
The Holy Shadow Fortress’s Main Cannon erupted in dazzling light as countless launch ports fired!
Whoosh!
A blinding beam and a storm of missiles slammed toward the defending Level 5 Battleship·White Shell.
Boom~
The White Shell’s barrier was shattered in an instant, and the hull took varying degrees of damage.
“Kill!”
Coronan, piloting the V Generation Mecha·Light Breaker, charged in at the head of his subordinates.
The Apocalypse Divine Country Defense Team soldiers, panicked and uneasy, piloted their Mecha to intercept.
The moment the two forces clashed, Defensive Mecha were cut down one after another.
“Ah!”
On the public comms channel, screams rang out nonstop.
Most of the elite had been transferred away by the Fanluo God Emperor; the garrisoned troops were largely people with connections, so in combat power they were clearly outclassed by the Old King’s Army.
It didn’t take long for the outer defensive forces to be routed. Coronan, in the Light-breaking Messenger, led his subordinates into the planet, punching through the atmosphere and appearing in the skies above the Sin Domain Base.
At that moment, the ground in the outskirts of the Sin Domain Base split open, and all kinds of defensive weaponry deployed at once.
