I had to jump back to avoid being splashed by the liquid that was created from my divine energy.

It would have been bad if I had let it splash on me.

After all, it was already melting a hole in the ground where it had splashed.

However, it didn’t seem like it left a mark on the door even though it was melting right through the ground. It was as if this door was resistant to the acid that I had created with my divine energy.

It seemed like no matter how I tried, I wasn’t able to do a single thing to this door.

“Just what is this thing made of?”

But after a moment of silence, I realized something…

“Why am I so focused on a door when there’s a frame around it? Just because I can’t do anything to the door doesn’t mean that I can’t get rid of the frame around it…”

As I realized this, there was a part of me that couldn’t help feeling embarrassed.

So that was why I turned the acid to the wall around the door.

The wall itself was a bit resistant, but it was less so compared to the door.

With the acid, I was able to leave a mark on the wall and slowly melt it away.

As long as I continued like this, I would be able to make my way through this door.

Though it certainly was a slow process since it wasn’t easy melting through the wall.

“Well, it’s been able to remain here after all this time. It only makes sense that it would be resistant to a certain extent so that it didn’t decay like everything else here.”

Since I was able to make progress, I didn’t back down as I slowly tried melting my way through the wall.

After a while, there was a loud sound that rang out.

“Klunk.”

It was the sound of the door hitting the ground after it was released from its frame. Without the wall holding it in place, it only took a single push to bring this door down.

Though I didn’t even get to push it as it suddenly started falling towards me while I had been in the middle of melting the wall with acid. If I didn’t react fast enough, I might have been crushed by the door.

“This door really is quite heavy.”

As I looked at the dent in the ground that the door left, I really couldn’t help feeling glad that I had moved out of the way in time. If I hadn’t moved out of the way…well, it wasn’t as if it would have crushed me since I feel like I would be able to hold it up with my new strength.

But it certainly wouldn’t have been a good thing to be under this door when it collapsed like this.

Once the door collapsed, I was able to see what was inside of the room.

Though it seemed like it was dim because there were no lights that were there, so it was a bit hard to make out what was exactly hiding in this room.

If it wasn’t for the fact that it was so small, it would have been hard to see the entirety of this room with this faint light alone. However, it wasn’t as if that was a hard problem to solve.

A single snap of my finger was all that it took to summon some flames that filled this room.

Once the flames appeared to give light, I was able to make out what it was that was here.

“Is that a ring? No, it’s too big to just be a simple ring. It looks like some kind of portal.”

There was this large stone ring that was on the ground in the center of this room and nothing else.

Well, there was a bit of rubble that was under the ring that showed that there had been something that had held this ring up previously.

However, the position of the ring made it clear that this was the most important thing in the room.

It could even be said that this room had been built just for this ring.

“A door that strong and a frame like this ring that wouldn’t decay, just what is this thing?”

The more that I looked at this ring, the more that it felt like something special.

It was just that I couldn’t really figure out what it was about this ring that was so special until a thought popped into my mind.

“Could it be that this is some kind of portal?”

Once that thought popped into my mind, I just couldn’t get it out of my mind.

The more that I thought about it, the more likely it seemed.

After all, I had asked Solista to guide us to a way to leave this place and the trail of light had led us here. So it only made sense that this ring would be the way out of this place.

But since this ring was just a ring in the middle of the city, it wouldn’t make any sense unless it was some kind of teleportation ring.

It was just that I had never heard of such a thing before.

There were teleportation magic arrays, but those were rare and weren’t things that could be made with the current standard of magic

“Well, this is an ancient civilization.” I muttered under my breath as I looked at this ring.

Since they were an ancient civilization that was clearly more advanced than the current continent, then it would make sense that they would have these portals.

“Does it still work?”

That was the biggest issue right now.

After looking at the ring for a bit, I concluded, “No, it definitely doesn’t work.”

While there was still power that was being supplied to the lights of this place, it was clear that whatever had been supplying power to this ring had been cut off.
