Once my identity was revealed, they didn’t waste any time bringing me to the city lord’s manor.

Along the way, I was able to learn a bit more about this place.

This city was one in a large kingdom that had once been under the Democratic Union. Which meant that this city was actually a city that was under the rule of my Kite Kingdom.

It was no wonder they were able to recognize me so quickly.

Though it didn’t go the other way.

The territory that had been under the Democratic Union might have been transferred to the Kite Kingdom, but it wasn’t as if I had the time to learn all about these kingdoms.

Still, it was a bit embarrassing to learn that this was actually a territory that had been under my Kite Kingdom.

Once we arrived at the city lord’s manor, I saw that there was a reception that had already been prepared for me. However, I wasn’t in any mood to socialize with any of these nobles even though they had prepared all of this.

I was even a bit disappointed seeing them like this.

The end of the world might be near and they were still acting like this, it really was a bit disappointing to see.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I really needed information right now, I really would have turned around to leave.

“Your majesty, we’ve prepared everything for you. Please have some food and rest before you decide on your next course of action.” The city lord spoke in a sincere voice, but I knew that his intentions weren’t actually sincere.

The look in his eyes was more than enough to show that he was thinking about how to use this opportunity to get closer to me.

But I didn’t give him that chance in the end.

“I need information.” I said in a firm voice, completely ignoring what he had said just now.

The city lord was naturally caught off guard when I was being this direct, but he was also someone that had been able to rise up to this position. He was someone that could read the mood easily and knew that this wasn’t the time to be messing around.

So with a wave of his hand to dismiss everyone, he gave a nod and then gestured for me to follow him.

When we arrived at his office, I just said, “Tell me everything that you know about what’s happened with the forces of Destruction since I’ve been gone.”

I honestly wasn’t expecting much since he was just a city lord, but I found that this city lord knew far more than I had expected. Though the main reason he knew all of this was because the situation was much worse than I thought.

However, there was one thing that did catch me off guard.

“They actually didn’t do anything to the Kite Kingdom?”

The city lord had a strange look on his face when he heard this, but he said, “Even now, the forces of Destruction are still surrounding the capital city. Everyone thought that they would attack the rest of the continent, but they didn’t do a single thing.”

It really was hard to believe that this was the case, especially since what War wanted was trapped in the capital.

If War really wanted to take her away, then it would be easy for the forces of Destruction to break into the capital and take her.

So for them to wait outside the capital like this…

“Is there something else that they want?” The city lord asked the question that had been on my mind.

But even if the city lord asked me this, it wasn’t as if I would be able to say anything. I had no idea what the forces of Destruction were thinking, or it was better to say that I didn’t know what War was thinking.

War was the one that had control over the forces of Destruction, so the fact that they were waiting outside the capital like this was without a doubt its doing.

None of this made any sense as I had no idea what their goal was.

However, there was a part of me that was relieved as I asked, “So that means that everyone that was in the capital should still be safe in the capital?”

The city lord hesitated a bit before saying, “I haven’t heard anything about them trying to breach the capital, but I don’t think that they would have much food left. It’s already been close to a month since they’ve been trapped like this and racial alliance forces were never able to send supplies in. Even with transport magic, I heard that there was something that blocked it.”

Though the city lord seemed worried, I wasn’t actually worried since I knew that the prime minister had long prepared for this.

Even if the capital was under siege for a year, he had already prepared more than enough supplies that the capital wouldn’t suffer. With the prime minister and chancellor in charge, I wasn’t worried that anything would happen to them.

The only thing that I was worried about was if they lost hope and decided to charge the forces of Destruction.

Since I had confirmed that they were safe, the next thing that I had to do was prepare to save them.

For that, I needed the help of the racial alliance.

“Help me contact your king and the racial alliance. I have something that I need to discuss with them.”

The city lord had an awkward look on his face when he heard this, but he couldn’t do anything in front of my strict look.
