Slime Evolution - Chapter 189 - Silver Lotus [PS BONUS]

Chapter 189: 189 – Silver Lotus [PS BONUS]
Just as Devon had described, the place Lohan was looking at was indeed an abandoned drone hangar.
The wall that had previously featured a painting of the company that owned the place was now completely covered in graffiti with various different designs. The most common design was that of a silver lotus flower, which, to Lohan, was surprisingly familiar.
’Where have I seen this before?’ he wondered to himself, searching his memory for that familiar image.
Since he spent most of his time in Elysium, the majority of his memories since he had transmigrated came from that other world, with events from the real world representing only a small minority.
So when he saw something as familiar as that, his first thought was to try to remember where in Elysium he had seen that design, but no matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t remember at all.
Devon walked up to the front and knocked on the metal gate three times in a row, waited a few seconds, knocked once more, waited three seconds, and knocked twice more.
The sound of his knocks wasn’t very loud, reverberating only inside that shed, but not carrying very far to the other buildings around it.
After the knocks, the place fell silent for at least 10 seconds, then finally the gate opened.
From the other side of the gate came a short boy, the same age as Devon and Lohan, with dark skin wearing a silver jacket.
Even though Devon was wearing the large mask with a purification filter, the boy recognized him immediately, smiling and opening the gate wider for Devon to enter, but right after that he saw a man behind Devon, a little taller than his friend and wearing an extremely familiar outfit.
Although most people in the Lower Zone wore similar clothes, black overcoats and baggy outfits with nearly identical masks, the boy looked at that man and felt a sharp pain in his stomach just from seeing his face.
With wide eyes, Kai took a step back and screamed in fear.
“Shit, Devon, why did you bring that monster here?! GUYS, RED ALERT!”
Hearing Kai’s scream, Devon was confused, looking back in fear as he searched for the enemy Kai was talking about, thinking that maybe someone from the Asfixia Gang had followed them there, but no matter how hard he looked, he could only see Lohan behind him, staring at Kai with slight surprise.
The confrontation he’d had with that gang had been so brief that Lohan couldn’t quite remember how it had actually happened, but looking behind Kai, Lohan saw a row of white motorcycles parked there that finally made his mind recall where he’d seen that Lotus design before.
Those motorcycles were so striking not only because they were very beautiful, but because they were the only truly beautiful motorcycles he had seen in the Lower Zone.
The other motorcycles he saw were just basic, cheap bikes that workers used for deliveries or things like that. No one in that place really had the money to spend on something like that.
If they had any money left over, they’d either use it to get out of the Lower Zone, or at least to improve their quality of life.
There was no room for wasting money on luxury for ordinary people.
But that set of eight white luxury sport bikes was very eye-catching.
Looking at Kai, who reacted in shock, Lohan remembered the man he’d punched so hard that he’d vomited into his own helmet, and was stunned by the coincidence of it all.
’Great, if before the trouble was knocking on my door, now I’m the one who’s literally come knocking on the trouble’s door…’ Lohan facepalmed as he realized the situation Devon had dragged him into.
And he couldn’t even blame the kid for the surprise and confusion Devon was showing; clearly, he didn’t know that Lohan had beaten up the group he was so proud of.
With Kai’s scream, Lohan heard several footsteps approaching them at high speed from inside that hangar.
From the sound he heard, he counted six people running and at least two metal bars being carried in that direction as well.
Knowing a fight was possible, Lohan didn’t hesitate and also went into combat mode, activating his perception enhancements and forming a black exoskeleton over his skin beneath his black overcoat, ready for any surprise attack, while raising his arms ready to fight.
Seeing Lohan’s reaction, Devon finally realized that Kai was yelling at the group out of fear of Lohan, so he stepped in front of him and spread his arms wide while shouting.
“What the fuck, Kai?! That’s my friend from college, why are you shouting ’red alert’? Calm down!” Devon shouted.
But Kai didn’t hear him; seeing Lohan in a combat stance, his stomach hurt even more, already churning at the memory of the sensation of choking on his own vomit inside the helmet.
Lifting his shirt, Kai pulled out a baseball bat and pressed a button, causing the bat to vibrate intensely and emit an electric buzz, pointing it at Lohan.
Before Devon could say anything else, the people inside the hangar also appeared behind Kai, looking at Devon in confusion, but upon seeing Lohan behind Devon, they too recognized that figure and went into combat mode.
Even though they knew they had started the fight that day, seeing that man in front of their base made the group think of only one possibility.
He had come for revenge.
They remembered the beating Kai and Jenny had taken from that man, but no one there was intimidated by it.
They were confident that if they joined forces against that man, victory would be theirs.
But Lohan wasn’t afraid either. Having fought them while still at Level 09, now that he was Level 10, the power boost he received in the real world from a Double Mythic Base had made him much stronger.
Not to mention the new evolutions he’d received and the evolutions he already had that had leveled up since that day.
If a fight broke out, he was confident he’d emerge victorious if he could use his abilities at the right moment.
Zach, who was behind Kai, was the first to advance, running fearlessly toward Lohan while swinging a gigantic metal wheel wrench.
Lohan was ready to strike back, pointing his hand at the man and preparing to trap him with a web, when Devon shouted again.
“STOP! I DIDN’T BRING LOHAN HERE TO FIGHT!”
