SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will - Chapter 345 Star Evolver

Chapter 345 Star Evolver
Aaron didn’t step back. But standing this close, the difference between them was clear. Aaron was big. Broad shoulders, thick arms, the build of someone who had trained hard to achieve his physique.
The man in front of him was bigger.
“That’s enough. If you don’t cut it out, you will both be kicked out. And I don’t care who started it.”
One of the older guards appeared beside them. He was shorter than both Aaron and the man by a good margin, but the aura radiating off his body made the height difference irrelevant. Both of them relaxed on instinct, their bodies responding to the pressure before their minds caught up.
“Tsk.” The man rolled his eyes and returned to his spot in the line, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets.
Aaron stayed where he was, his fists clenched at his sides, knuckles white in frustration.
Moon glanced at him. “Calm down. There are many idiots in this world. You’ll always manage to come across one every once in a while, even when you don’t want to.”
The man’s head snapped back around. His face flushed crimson, unknown whether it was anger or embarrassment, “You little…”
“Enough!” The guard’s cold glare landed on the man first, freezing the words in his throat. Then the guard turned toward Moon. “You. Quit it.”
Moon nodded his head calmly. Although a mischievous smile sat firmly on his face.
Aaron had one too.
The two stayed in their line. Although this time, they talked more than before. Moon and Aaron kept their voices just low enough to not attract the guard’s attention, but just loud enough for the man ahead of them to hear every word.
They could both see his fists clenching, and even the vein on the side of his neck that hadn’t been there before.
It was amusing, to say the least.
When the man’s turn finally came, he was called forward by the assistant and asked a series of questions. Turns out he wasn’t a fresh Evolver, but quite an old one. Secondly, he was an A-Rank Awakener before his evolution, which placed him well above the average fresh Evolver in terms of raw power. A-Rank Awakeners were already considered elite in the First Sanctuary. Evolving from that starting point meant he had a significant head start over most people in the lines.
After the round of questions, the man was escorted by the assistant through a set of doors for testing. Moon had heard about this part. When officially registering as an Evolver, you were required to undergo a series of evaluations. These tests measured power output, skill, and overall combat potential. The better you performed, the higher your evaluation.
There was another purpose too. The Association used these tests to accumulate data on various classes. By recording the performance of every Evolver who came through, they built a database that allowed them to gauge the potential of different classes. When a new Awakener awakened the same class somewhere down the line, the Association already had numbers to reference. They could determine whether the class was worth recruiting for, investing in, or passing over entirely.
After around five minutes, the man returned. The smug expression on his face had doubled in size in comparison to before.
“Congratulations, sir. Your evaluation has increased by one spiritual acupoint from the last time. You have officially become a true First Star Evolver.” She smiled brightly.
“Your monthly allowance will increase to Five hundred thousand dollars. You are also eligible to apply for a position within our Association. If you are accepted, we will provide training and resources to help you reach Second Star Evolver status within the next year.”
The man straightened his jacket and adjusted his necklaces, soaking in the words like sunlight. He glanced back toward Moon and Aaron with a look that said everything his mouth didn’t.
“Of course, sign me up.”
“Great!”
Moon ignored him entirely, instead he asked Aaron, “What is a First Star and Second Star Evolver?”
He could tell it was some kind of ranking system used to gauge the strength of an Evolver, but the specifics weren’t clear to him.
Aaron leaned in slightly. “It’s the standard evaluation system the Association uses for Evolvers. A First Star Evolver is someone whose overall power is equivalent to having ten spiritual acupoints opened and filled to capacity.”
He held up a finger.
“But it’s not that simple. Even within the same star evaluation, there are tiers. Not all First Star Evolvers are the same strength. Some have stronger spirit manuals that give them better efficiency in each individual acupoint. The quality of the spiritual power they cultivate matters just as much as the quantity.”
Aaron paused, thinking for a moment.
“And then there are the real monsters. People who reach First Star power with only eight or nine acupoints filled. Their foundations are so solid, and their Spirit Art Manual is really strong, they output the same force as someone with ten, but with fewer Acupoints filled.”
Moon nodded slowly, absorbing the information. The system made sense. Raw acupoint count wasn’t everything. The quality of your cultivation, the strength of your spirit manual, and your individual talent all factored into where you landed.
“So the stars are a rough measurement, not an exact one.”
“Exactly.” Aaron confirmed. “Two people can both be First Star Evolvers and one of them could wipe the floor with the other.”
“What is a Spirit Art Manual by the way?”
Aaron hesitated. “That’s… complicated to explain.” He scratched his cheek. “The assistant will explain it to you when it’s your turn. Don’t worry about it. She’ll do a much better job than me. I’m quite bad at explaining these kinds of things.”
Moon nodded. “Thanks anyway.”
“No problem.” Aaron smiled.
The man at the front finished up his registration and walked out smugly.
‘Only a few people left,’ Moon thought, staring at the three people just ahead of him. He estimated that within fifteen minutes, it would be his turn.
