Chapter 354 Preparation For Second Sanctuary [2], Buying Items!
Moon made his way to the eleventh floor where Second Order items were displayed. Everything here ranged from F to E-Rank.
He browsed through the shelves and display cases, checking prices as he went. His eyebrows rose. In comparison to First Order items of the same rank, these were ten to twenty times more expensive. The jump in cost was staggering, even for someone with Moon’s income.
Nothing on this floor caught his attention, so he moved up.
The twelfth floor was different. Most items here were peak E-Rank, with a handful of D-Rank pieces scattered among them. The quality was visibly higher. The materials looked sturdier, the craftsmanship more refined, and the mana coming off some of the items were strong enough to feel from a distance.
Moon stopped in front of one display case that caught his eyes
[Zephyr Breaker] [Order: Second] [Rank: D-] [Details: A lightweight, close-fitting jacket crafted from tightly woven fabric that deflects 10% of damage from incoming gusts and reduces their force upon impact. Provides 10% resistance against wind-based attacks.]
Moon activated his Eye of Truth.
[Hidden Details: The jacket breaks against attacks of First Star Evolvers or above.]
Moon wasn’t disappointed to say the least. Although first order skills should have a lower effect when used on Second Order things, his Legendary skill did not disappoint to say the least.
‘Interesting.’
The item had a clear expiration date in terms of usefulness. Once he reached First Star or started fighting opponents at that level, the jacket would shatter under the power of their attacks. But Moon wasn’t at that level yet, and he wouldn’t be for at least a few days.
On a floating island where the wind never stopped and could knock you off the edge if you weren’t careful, 10% wind resistance was more valuable than it sounded.
His eyes moved to the price tag.
[Price: $1,000,000]
A soft smile formed on his face, it was expensive but he had money to buy it.
‘These Second Order items really are in a different league when it comes to pricing. Good thing I have passive income and savings built up.’
Moon turned toward the assistant stationed on the floor and pointed at the jacket inside its protective case.
“I would like to purchase this item.”
The assistant walked over promptly. She was polite and professional, greeting him with a warm smile without a single glance at his clothes or equipment to judge his ability to pay. She simply began processing the transaction as if every customer who walked up to her counter deserved the same treatment.
It was a refreshing change from certain people Moon had encountered—during his early life—who treated you like dirt the moment you didn’t look wealthy enough for their taste.
After the payment went through, Moon stored the jacket in his storage ring. It wasn’t exactly fashionable, so wearing it without a practical reason wasn’t part of his plans.
He moved up to the thirteenth floor.
The items here were a clear step above everything below. D-Rank pieces dominated the displays, with a few low-grade C Rank items placed near the center of the room. The prices reflected the quality. Most tags had seven figures on them.
Moon browsed carefully until a black ring in one of the side displays caught his eye.
[Mana Ring] [Order: Second] [Rank: C-] [Details: A ring found in the hands of a spirit inside a B-Rank Pavilion. Provides +20% Mana Regeneration. +10 Mana.]
‘A ring that increases Mana by 10 and regeneration by 20%. That’s pretty good.’
Moon studied the ring through the glass for a moment. Then he activated Eye of Truth.
The results made his eyes widen.
[Hidden Details: This ring was previously a B-Rank item. After incurring heavy damage to its mana pathways, it has lost a large portion of its original power. The ring can be repaired using the following materials: 10 units of Black Mithril, 5 units of Titanium, 5 C Rank Beast Cores.]
Moon’s gaze sharpened. He looked at the ring again, closer this time. He could see a faint red halo, that ran along the inner band where the mana pathways had fractured. They were tiny, almost invisible to the naked eye. The damage that no ordinary inspection would ever catch.
The Trading Center had priced this as a C- Rank item because that was what it currently performed as. But its true rank was B. If someone had the right materials and the skill to repair those pathways, this ring would be worth many times what the price tag said.
‘Eye of Truth is far more valuable than I thought.’ Moon thought, his eyes immediately searching the entire room.
The greed inside Moon’s heart increased exponentially. ‘What if I find more treasures…I will become rich!’
Unfortunately, after casting his skills several times and using a good portion of Mana. Moon found no other treasures in the room.
Finding such hidden treasures was almost a once-in-a lifetime event that rarely occurred.
“I would like to buy this Mana Ring.”
“Of course, I will prepare it for you right away!” The attendant smiled beautifully. ‘Thinking about it, the Trading Center’s floors are mostly ran by beautiful women as attendants…I wonder why…’ Moon thought before his attention returned to the item was placed inside a beautiful black case that suited it perfectly.
Moon took out his card and scanned it against the device.
Ding!
The payment of $6,000,000 went in smoothly.
After buying that, Moon made his way towards another floor that sold Second Order materials.
Moon found the 5 C Rank cores he needed and the ten units of Black Mithril. The total came out to one million which wasn’t cheap but not overly expensive.
For a B Rank item, he was willing to spend that much. In regards to the 5 units of Titanium. Unfortunately, Moon was unable to find them. Titanium was highly requested by most blacksmiths, rune-smiths and other professions, they were always sought out for.
The terrible timing of arriving a day after they ran out also didn’t help his case. “Titanium is replenished every week on Monday, you can return to try your luck then.” The attendant said politely.
Moon nodded his head and made his way out of the Trading Center. He wasn’t exactly in a hurry, he needed to learn a Blacksmithing skill in order to attempt at restoring it back to its previous state.
‘My Class slot has been restored, I can copy another skill. I need to find myself a suitable target to copy.’ Moon thought.
