SSS Awakening: I Can Class Change at will - Chapter 362 Powerful Beast

Chapter 362 Powerful Beast
The entire body left the ground. All five meters and several tons of it launched into the air like a nimble beast a quarter of its size, front legs extended, mouth gaping wide. It moved with a speed and grace that had no business belonging to a creature that heavy.
Moon’s eyes widened.
‘It lunged at me like it weighs just a few hundred pounds rather than a few tons.’
The gap between them vanished in a heartbeat. The shadow of the beast swallowed the ground beneath Moon as it soared toward him.
Moon didn’t wait for the beast to reach him.
The blue crackling lightning left his body and streaked toward the lunging beast. It struck the beast square in the chest mid-air. The creature’s muscles seized up, its legs turning rigid.
Its aerial momentum died. The fearsome lunge turned into a graceless fall, the beast’s massive body tilting forward as gravity reclaimed it.
Moon did not waste the opportunity to deal more damage, he channeled his mana through his staff. Responding to his call, the earth element surged through him and into the ground beneath the beast’s shadow.
Dozens of sharp, jagged spikes erupted from the soil directly below the falling creature. They shot upward in a cluster, each one angled to catch the body on its way down.
~SQUELCH~
The beast landed on the spikes with its full weight behind it. Most of them shattered on impact. The stone broke apart beneath the creature’s massive body like brittle sticks, unable to penetrate the dense hide and thick muscle underneath.
But a few held.
Three spikes found the softer spots. One drove halfway into the joint where the front leg met the torso. Another pierced the underside of its belly where the fur was thinnest. The third caught the flesh just behind its jaw.
Moon stared in surprise. The beast’s body was incredibly durable, his earth spikes should have skewered through it, he had put quite some mana into the attack.
But it seemed like the creature had shrugged off most of them through sheer physical toughness alone.
Despite its incredible durability, Moon knew it wasn’t invincible. Dark blood seeped from the three wounds, pooling on the broken stone beneath it. The beast thrashed and kicked, trying to pull itself free, but each movement widened the gashes and drew more blood.
Moon’s eyes narrowed as he studied the creature’s body carefully. He marked the weak areas to exploit, the joints, the underbelly and the areas just behind the skull where the hide thinned out.
‘Those are its weak points. Focusing on these parts will result in killing it quicker.’
He raised his hand, lightning already gathering in his palm once again.
The beast thrashed violently and ripped itself free from the remaining spikes. Chunks of stone snapped off inside its wounds as it rolled sideways and scrambled to its feet. Blood poured from the three punctures, but the creature didn’t slow down. If anything, the injury Moon had inflicted made it angrier.
It turned toward Moon with fury burning behind its small dark eyes. A low, guttural sound rumbled from deep inside its chest, quieter but more dangerous from the roar before. Whoosh!
Moon sent a fireball streaking toward the beast’s face, as he simultaneously put more mana into his lightning attack. The creature swung its massive head to the side, dodging it, but the attack was never meant to land. It was a distraction.
While the beast’s attention was focused on dodging the previous attack, Moon circled to its left and drove a concentrated bolt of lightning into the open wound at its front leg joint. The lightning surged directly into exposed flesh and muscle, bypassing its strong defenses.
The beast screamed. Its front left leg buckled and it stumbled forward, its balance broken for a critical second.
Moon didn’t let up. He thrust his hand downward once more and a spike of earth erupted beneath the creature’s belly, driving into the same soft spot that had been pierced moments ago. The spike went deeper this time, punching further into the wound that was already open.
The beast lashed out blindly, swinging its head in a wide arc that would have probably crushed Moon’s ribs if it connected. He stepped back onto a hardened slab of wind and launched himself out of range.
The creature was bleeding heavily now. Three wounds leaking freely, one leg compromised, and its movements growing slower with each passing second.
But it was still standing and fighting against the odds.
Moon landed softly and began channeling lightning in both hands. His goal was the same three areas: The joints, belly, and behind the jaw.
He just needed to hit the same spots again. The beast rose up once more, its body drenched in blood. Despite that, the anger in its eyes never dwindled. Without wasting a second, it began charging towards Moon once more.
ZAP!
Moon sent another bolt of lightning into the beast’s damaged front leg. The joint gave out completely this time, and the creature’s upper body pitched forward, its chin slamming into the dirt.
Before it could recover, Moon repeated the same combo once more. Using earth spikes as a way to injure, and slow down the beast. The beast let out a horrible, wet bellow and tried to roll sideways to escape, but its movements were sluggish now. It had lost liters of blood, and its few wounds were very severe, stacking on top of each other.
Surprisingly, the beast managed to stand again, swaying on five functional legs, the sixth dragging uselessly beneath it. Its dark eyes found Moon and it charged for what might be its last time.
Moon’s eyes held no pity at the beast, rather it held respect. The beast’s charge was no longer as dangerous or nimble, it was slow and…desperate.
“It’s time for you to go.” He muttered to himself.
When the beast closed half of the distance, Moon released the crackling lightning directly into the widest gash. The bolt punched through the wound, and spread through its body. The beast’s legs locked mid-stride, it slid forward on momentum alone, plowing a furrow through the dirt before coming to a stop, just a few meters from where Moon stood.
This time…it did not get up.
Moon used his earth element to flip the beast on its back, before summoning his sword, and plunging it deep into the gash beneath its jaw.
The body twitched once.
[You have killed the Level 28 E-Rank PanPig]
[You have gained 300 Lives]
Moon’s brows lifted.
‘This beast…it’s not star ranked?’
