‘The way they are placing their Nodes and Connections seems to make no sense, but I can feel how clean and powerful the Energies are,’ Kyle thought.

‘From what I’ve seen and learned, the way they construct Formation Arrays is completely different from normal. It’s like they have created an entirely new way of setting up Formation Arrays.’

‘How does this work?’

Kyle specifically watched the Fulfilled Crusher with the Fire and Wind Affinities.

He knew quite a bit about how to construct these kinds of Formation Arrays. Within a couple of seconds, the four Fulfilled Crushers constructed one Formation Array each, which were activated a moment later. The first set of fortifications had been built, and they were just waiting for Kyle to attack.

However, even if he didn’t attack, they would just continue setting up more Formation Arrays.

‘I need to see what they can do,’ Kyle thought as he activated his Law of Hammer.

This caught Kyle completely off guard.

He had never seen any Formation Array that could stop his hammer from appearing inside of it.

After all, Imposing Laws were self-created, personal Laws. To effectively interfere with how they worked, one would need to know how they worked. The five people in front of Kyle couldn’t possibly know how his Imposing Law worked. Even more, they most likely didn’t know that he even had one.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come here with that much confidence. And yet, their Formation Arrays intercepted Kyle’s Imposing Law.

However, by understanding what an Imposing Law could and could not do, one could provide a good explanation of how these Formation Arrays stopped Kyle’s Law of Hammer.

‘Is this the secret of Inner World? Is this why their Formation Arrays are unparalleled?’ Kyle thought.

‘Can they actually inject their will into their Formation Arrays?’

If the Formation Array had a will, it would explain why Kyle’s Law of Hammer couldn’t manifest inside of it.

After all, Kyle also couldn’t summon his hammer inside an opponent’s body.

‘But how? Formation Arrays are machines. They are dead. By giving them a will, you are essentially creating life. However, if you simply use them as a will amplifier, you would not be creating life. The Formation Array would just act as a medium for your will, just as a body acts as a medium for your will.’

While Kyle couldn’t see the components of the Formation Arrays anymore, he remembered how they had been set up.

For a moment, he tried to decipher how these Formation Arrays worked, but it was just too complex and difficult.

‘I need them to make more Formation Arrays so that I can watch, but every additional Formation Array will make it harder for me to win. I’m confident that I can take down these Formation Arrays, but if they keep making more, it will become dangerous.’

Kyle came up with a plan and shot towards them.

The five Crushers watched Kyle approaching, but they didn’t move. As Kyle got closer, he pointed towards the Formation Arrays, and a powerful laser of azure fire shot at the Formation Arrays.

As the laser approached, one of the Formation Arrays summoned a metallic cone that pointed at it. The laser hit the cone, which turned into dust.

It was almost like the metallic cone wasn’t even supposed to resist the laser. Naturally, the laser continued, but before it could hit, the dust of the cone vanished, and another Formation Array activated. Two portals, one black and one white, appeared in front of the laser.

As the laser moved through them, nothing seemed to change on the surface, but Kyle could feel what had happened.

‘They equalized the mass of my attack!’ he thought in surprise.

The laser had been launched with a complex mix of all of Kyle’s Minor Elemental Laws. Its front had its Yang-Metal attribute cranked to the top, giving it great penetrative power, while its back had its Yin-Metal attribute maxed. After the laser broke through, it would explode violently.

Yet, as it moved through the portals, all Yin-Metal and Yang-Metal attributes were equalized. This was no longer a complicated attack but a simple one.

The next moment, a wall of hardened metal-stone appeared in front of the laser.

BANG!

One part of the laser punched through half of the wall, while the violent Fire and Wind Energies were spread across its surface. Kyle’s attack had been stopped easily, and even worse, Kyle could tell that they hadn’t even used a lot of Energy.

The Formation Arrays had changed Kyle’s Level Four Complex Law into three Level Three Pure Laws.

This meant that Kyle’s attack had been weakened by over 95%!

‘That’s fucking crazy!’

he thought as he launched another laser.

This time, it had its Yang-Fire, Yin-Metal, and Yang-Wind attributes maxed, turning it into a volatile, explosive area-of-effect attack. Once more, the metallic cone appeared in the laser’s path.

As soon as the laser hit, it exploded violently. Surprisingly, the cone wasn’t fully destroyed, and it successfully redirected a small part of the attack towards the surroundings.

However, attacks like that weren’t like mindless waves of fire that kept shooting into the distance after a shield blocked their way.

Complicated attacks like this would just flow around the blocking object, fill the space behind it, and then continue.

At least, that’s what Kyle’s attack was supposed to do. Instead, a translucent sheet of water extended out from the cone.

The water crackled with lightning, which seemed to repel the fiery explosion. The water kept the azure flames at bay until they passed over the entire Formation Array setup.

Once more, Kyle’s attack had been trivialized with little investment of Energy.

‘The Metal part of the Metal-Earth Formation Array senses an approaching attack and determines if it’s physical, ethereal, or mixed,’ Kyle thought as he analyzed how the Formation Arrays worked.

‘If the attack is physical or mixed, the cone will turn into dust, and the dust will be analyzed by the Light-Darkness Formation Array. The Light-Darkness Formation Array determines the Elements in the attack and acts accordingly. If it’s a purely physical attack, the Darkness Element will lower its mass. If it’s mixed, both of them just equalize everything. Finally, a powerful wall appears. The attack isn’t massive enough to break through the wall, and the ethereal aspects will harmlessly wash over it.’

‘If the Metal-Earth Formation Array senses an ethereal attack, the Lightning-Water Formation Array will activate to repel it. Any kind of ranged attack will be trivialized. Even if I had a bow and shot an arrow, it would just be treated like a physical or mixed attack. Although mixing the mass of an arrow should be much more difficult since the arrow would be made of stable materials instead of temporary ones. They would still be able to block it, but it would cost them a lot more Energy.’

‘Either way, these Formation Arrays are designed to force me into close combat. If I want to get somewhere, I need to get close.’
