Strongest Mage with the Lust system - Chapter 919: Choosing A Profession

Chapter 919: Choosing A Profession
“Yes.” The receptionist nodded, rummaged through the records for a moment to confirm, then said, “Alchemy is in 7th section, Magic Weapon Smithing is in 11th and Talisman Making is in… 13th section.”
Max swept his gaze across the floor and noticed one to fifteen sections clearly labelled. Beyond them were rows of rooms—Comprehension Rooms.
“I see. Thank you.” nodded Max and was about to leave when the receptionist spoke up.
“Fellow disciple, let me tell you the rules as required by me…”
Max waited until she finished telling him what he already knew, then after nodding in acknowledgment, he walked over to the sections.
The first section had non Elemental spells and techniques and second to sixth had major elemental ones—Earth, Water, Wind, Wood, and Fire.
After taking a look at them, he stood in front of the seventh section—Alchemy—a surprised look on his face.
The contents of this section exceeded the elemental sections.
’With so much information, why is the Beast Emperor Hall not known for its alchemy.’ he briefly thought before glancing at the 11th and 13th sections.
He could take only two books or scrolls of any magic spell, technique and information. Therefore, he had to decide which two professions he was going to focus on or whether it was better to focus on just one.
After a few moments, he walked away from the Alchemy section—he decided not to pursue it despite the fact that it was the most profitable profession. After all, mages could do without magic weapons and talismans, but they definitely needed for various purposes.
However, an alchemist needed to master various kinds of refining techniques and medicinal recipes before they could stably produce medicine and earn. This required a significant amount of time, which he couldn’t afford to spare at the moment.
…
Unbeknownst to him, a trio stood not far away from him watching him with interest. When he stopped in front of the Alchemy section, one of their eyes lit up and he laughed, “Haha, he is going to choose my Alchemy Hall.”
The two standing beside him pursed their lips and sneered, “Don’t be happy so soon. He had yet to decide.”
The member of the Alchemy Hall nodded, but his confidence didn’t waver. After all, Alchemy was the most lucrative profession. Most of the disciples would give it a try if they had talent for it.
And he knew Max was a genius Fire Mage. With his talent at controlling fire, he only needed to learn some refining skills and he could become a beginner alchemist.
’Hall Master would definitely reward me generously if I could have this monster become a member of the Alchemy Hall.’ the man thought, getting more and more excited, his smile widening.
The other two, a man and a woman, clicked their tongues in annoyance seeing this. But inwardly, they felt helpless because Max was most likely to…
“He is moving.” Their eyes lit up when they saw Max walk away from the Alchemy section while the Alchemy Hall disciple’s smile froze.
“Hehe, told you not to be happy too soon.” The female disciple chuckled, teasingly batting her eyelashes at him.
“Hmph!” The Alchemy Hall disciple snorted, “Don’t be so smug. Maybe he is just exploring his options and would choose alchemy in the end.”
“You would wish so, won’t you?” The female disciple laughed, but she no longer had that teasing, smug look on her face. The same was true for the other disciple.
…
Max didn’t know the moment he asked the receptionist about the information related to three professions, people had begun paying him attention.
Of course, he felt some gazes on him, but this was nothing out of ordinary as he had also felt them when he was outside the library.
Thus, not paying them any attention, he walked over to 11th section—Magic Weapon Smithing. Then… he continued and finally stopped in front of the Talisman Section.
Just like in the case of the Alchemy, one needed to master some refinement techniques and it was labour intensive and time taking task. For example, a tier-one Magic Weapon Smith usually spent days to finish creating a magic artifact.
Max wanted something that wouldn’t take much of his time and would give him good returns.
Thus, out of the three, he felt the talisman making was the best for him as it took very short time to create a talisman and profit from selling it was quite good.
Without hesitation, he entered the Talisman Section, perused through the scrolls, books and memory crystals’ introduction.
Based on the information he got from them, he chose a booklet titled ’Introduction to talisman making’ and a memory crystal ’Thunder Runes for Talismans’.
Since it was placed on the second floor, the Introduction to Talisman Making not only had all the information one needed to become a Tier Five Talisman Master, it also had a comprehensive talisman making technique.
As for the memory crystal, it had Thunder Runes which he could inscribe on the talismans.
…
As soon as Max walked out of the Talisman Section, carrying the booklet and the memory crystal, he saw a young woman in elegant pink robes with a bronze insignia etched on her chest, looking at him with a warm smile.
“Hello, Mr. Maxwell. I’m Inner Disciple Ryuna from the Talisman Hall.” She introduced herself and asked, “Would you like to join the Talisman Hall?”
Max raised his brows and asked, “Doesn’t one need to be a talisman master to join your hall?”
Ryuna’s smile didn’t waver.
“This is correct, Mr. Maxwell. But as long as you want to join, I can recommend you to the Talisman Hall.” She said,
Then, like a good saleswoman, she went on to describe the advantages of joining the Talisman Hall.
“There, you needn’t worry about finding material for talismans and if you get stuck somewhere, you can ask seniors for advice too. Moreover, you wouldn’t need to waste time finding the customers for your talismans as you could sell them to the hall directly. The hall doesn’t shortchange anyone.”
