Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 157: Pet Eater

Chapter 157: Pet Eater
Back on the theatre stage, Torq was playing a piano. The keys, however, were made of nails. So, every time he pressed a key, the nail punctured through his finger tips, all the way to the other side.
His blood continued to drip as he finished the song. And then, he woke up, finding himself in his room, next to his mother, MyuraBuntara. He noticed the pellet trembling faintly, absorbing the influence radiating off his body, ’This is a consequence of my regression.’
’It will progressively grow worse.’ He thought, ’If not for the Chief’s timely assistance, there was a chance I could have died. And this is merely my second regression.’
His next regression had a solid chance of turning him mad, and the fourth regression…could break his mind. ’The plan was to have seven chances in total. It seems I won’t even survive that long.’
’Then, I’ll make this life worth the most.’ He firmed his mind, and only then did he notice something strange.
“Hmm…” Hearing her son’s cries, MyuraBuntara woke up to peer at her son, only to flinch upon being met with a skinless face. She blinked and rubbed her eyes, opening them to see the regular face of her son being displayed, ’I must be hallucinating from a lack of sleep.’
“Sleep, my dear.” She rubbed her son’s forehead and fell asleep upon hearing the other party’s soft snores.
Once she had fallen asleep, Torq opened his eyes and gently unfurled his fist to reveal a clumped roll of his facial skin. The moment he found himself in the theatre and woke up from the torture there, his palm rubbed his face, in an effort to calm his nerves.
During the action, it by mistake ripped off his facial skin. This was a result of the influence from his powers, which had progressively grown stronger. He was getting the urges now, to peel the skins of others.
Whether the skin belonged to him or not didn’t matter. He just wanted to rip it out. And subconsciously, his arm stretched towards MyuraBuntara, failing to make contact with the face because of the length disparity.
’What the fuck am I doing?’ Torq corrected his behaviour to the best of his capabilities, trying his best to hold in his urges. He then patted his stomach, feeling the residues of the Narlakk core being digested.
’Unfortunately, it belongs to a Mutated Pranic Beast.’ He thought, let out a mild sigh, and observed the changes in his being. It was subtle, but he could feel himself growing faster.
His body and mind were rapidly progressing through its growth, causing his development to reach a seven-year-old child now. ’A single Narlakk core gave me so many benefits.’
The Wean Clan had a total of five races. The Main Family consisted of the Empyrean Boar Race, a Beginner Gold Grade Pranic Beast.
The Empyrean Boar Race, despite being a Beginner Gold Grade Pranic Beast, was treated as the Main Family for two reasons: It was the original race, and secondly, it could grow.
Upon reaching a certain level of development, an Empyrean Boar could evolve to become the Boar King, an Expert Gold Grade Pranic Beast. And, even though the chances were abysmal, there was a possibility of the Boar King reaching the Mystic Grade to become the Empyrean Boar King.
The Branch Families consisted of the Forest Boars, Murky Boars, Heavy Boars, and finally, the Spectral Boars.
Advanced Gold Grade Pranic Beast–Spectral Boar!
With a Prana capacity of 7100 and a lifespan of 1690, the Spectral Boar was the strongest among the Branch Families. Of course, that was only in terms of individual strength. At the moment, Torq was the sole Spectral Boar in the Wean Clan.
His father was a Pranic Beast, while his mother was a Wean Clansman part of the Empyrean Boar Race.
Wean Clansmen were different from their Pranic Beast counterparts by one factor: They were part of the Human Race.
Wean Clansmen were capable of transforming into their respective Pranic Beast Part, upon which, they will unlock the Pranic Beast’s Natures.
At birth, just like the rest of the Humans, Wean Clansmen too were born at the Spirit Stage. And then, they would cultivate to reach the Body Stage. Generally for the Wean Clansmen, they didn’t have to worry about this part.
Just eating food and living life casually was enough for them to naturally progress through the Spirit Stage. At birth, GaraBuntara had 18 units of Prana in his Spirit Container.
And over the past four months, it steadily increased. It would have taken him a couple more months to reach the peak of the Spirit Stage. However, consuming the Narlakk Core accelerated the process.
This was the unique characteristic of the Empyrean Boar Race, in that they could mature faster by consuming flesh that is rich with Prana. The sister races had this characteristic too, in different measures of dilution.
As Torq focused on his stomach, he noticed changes happen to his body. Slowly, the excess nutrients gathered in his heart and built his Spirit Container, until 100 of them appeared in total. And then, there was a soft sound, like a nozzle being turned on to deliver water.
Swoosh!
All 100 Spirit Containers naturally fused into a singular whole, elevating him to the Body Stage. And the moment he entered the Body Stage, Prana surged into his Spirit Container to collate a mystical phenomenon that could unleash its effects upon reality.
Primary Nature–Spectral Boar Transformation!
Upon activation, he would transform into Spectral Boar, and would then unlock the Spectral Boar’s Primary Nature as his Secondary Nature. That was the Wean Clan’s mode of development.
Even though a Wean Clansman could only use their powers upon transformation, they had an advantage over their Pranic Beast counterpart, in that they could progress through the Life Stage.
’In this life, I will live past a Century.’ He thought and swallowed the ripped facial skin in his hands. And then, he ripped out another piece, ’It’s good that the furball had one of the vessels prepared as the Spectral Boar.’
’This creature’s synergy with my Blessed Clansman powers is insanely high.’ He had to suffer through influence every step of the way, but those were just the consequences of his actions. The benefits, however, truly made the suffering worth it.
Primary Nature–Daily Pet!
Immediately in response, Torq began to charge up his facial skin, intending to create a Pet of himself. Since he was only charging himself up, a baby, using his Gold Grade Prana to do so, things were damn easy.
In a matter of minutes, a GaraBuntara Pet stood before him. And then, slowly, Torq began to eat the Pet, munching as softly as possible to avoid alerting the figure of his mother sleeping nearby.
Cough!
The smell pervaded the air, so without hesitation, Torq punctured his throat and coughed up blood.
“My baby!” MyuraBuntara got up in surprise and grabbed Torq, “What happened?”
Torq merely coughed a couple more times to spew out blood before the injury healed. He used this blood to mask the scent prevalent in the room.
Since it came from his body in both cases, MyuraBuntara didn’t think anything was amiss. She inspected her son’s throat, ’Why did it get injured suddenly?’
She then noticed the pellet hung around his neck whirring faintly, understanding the reason immediately, ’My…poor baby!’
“Let’s get some sleep.” She held him deep in her embrace and let out soft snores soon after.
Torq had his eyes closed, but wasn’t asleep at all. Instead, he felt his stomach rapidly digest the Pet’s body, and funnel all the energy to begin forming a tangible outline in his stomach.
Upon seeing it begin to form, he grinned, ’It’s working exactly as I had pictured!’
’This is good!’
