Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 158: Tangible Nature Powered

Chapter 158: Tangible Nature Powered
Sumatra Continent has outgrowths, like small tendrils growing out of it, called Enclaves. These Enclaves possess a narrow path to the Continent, serving as a chokepoint.
Each Enclave once used to be an Iron Transcendent. Upon their deaths, and in a situation where their foundation was solid enough, Sumatra Continent consumes them. The result of that was the creation of an outgrowth, the Enclave.
The name of every Enclave was based on the identity of the dead, Iron Transcendent. Sumatra has a total of 392 Enclaves. One of them was the Varahan Enclave, home to the Empyrean Boar Race.
Originally, more than 500 Empyrean Boars lived on the Enclave, until they got massacred by the Empyrean Tusks. Their sole survivor ended up becoming Sumatra’s first Empyrean Boar King and had an entire era named after him.
When a Pranic Beast hits its genetic limit, it gets the prefix of Empyrean attached to its name. The Empyrean Boar King, during the course of its fight against the Mystic Seven, managed to evolve.
That led to the birth of the Celestial Boar, Sumatra’s hungriest predator. It became the Varahan Empire’s founder.
The Empire originally had four megacities where millions lived. When the civil war started, the Wean Clan ensured a tight grip on three megacities, thanks to their proximity to the Varahan Enclave.
The Empire’s capital, Narkn, was however situated 3542 kilometres from the Varahan Enclave. The Wean Clan was unable to maintain their dominance over such a large region. Hence, the Free Humans maintained control over the place.
Such a wide distance was still well within the Varahan Empire’s territory. This was the sheer regional size they had attained in a mere century. If not for the civil war, they would have continued expanding without limits.
The Varahan Enclave was an enclosed territory of the Wean Clan, where they raised multiple nests of Pranic Beasts for their consumption. After fully barricading the Varahan Enclave to form a safe space, they continued with their development.
Within Sumatra Continent, other than the many smaller cities, the Main Family of the Wean Clan controlled two megacities. The third megacity, while still under their control, was gradually being distributed to their four Branch Families.
Binkn Megacity!
This was Torq’s current domicile. The city consisted of large trees, each reaching a height of 400 metres, internally segmented through the step to form floors, rooms, etc.
They had all been developed naturally, as if the tree grew in this manner. Thanks to this, even if some damage were to happen, the tree would recover over time, just like it does everywhere else.
From the window of his room, Torq could peer over the edge of Sumatra. A jet-black curtain extended endlessly past the border, where light and sound gets consumed. Stretching endlessly past it was a void of space where living beings were unable to survive.
Sandy-Grey Void!
Like water where fishes swam, the Sand-Grey Void was the place where the Continents lived like fishes. The Sandy-Grey Void was filled with a substance termed the grey sand, which was capable of consuming all sorts of matter to make more of its kind.
If even a single grey sand particle were to enter Sumatra, it would rapidly create more of its kind and eventually consume the entire Continent.
Sumatra did have defensive means against the grey sand. The Mystic Empyrean Tentacle was one with the ability to counter the grey sand, of course, only at limited quantities.
If the grey sand were to spread too fast, the Mystic Empyrean Tentacle would run out of Prana. Moreover, the moment enough grey sand appears in a place, the area would create a pillar of darkness stretching through both the ground and sky infinitely. The area would become part of the Sandy-Grey Void.
The Sandy-Grey Void bordered the Sumatra Continent. Since the Continent was too huge, only those living at the border could even see the Sandy-Grey Void. The Varahan Enclave, on the other hand, was small enough that everyone living in the region were able to see the Sandy-Grey Void.
The only spot bereft of the Sandy-Grey Void was the narrow corridor stretching from the Varahan Enclave to the Sumatra Continent, stretching barely a couple kilometres wide.
Five months after his birth, as his daily routine, Torq stared through the window and observed the Sandy-Grey Void while his mother fed him food.
By now, his body and mind had developed enough to be on par with an eight-year-old child and was beginning to slow down. The Spectral Boar had a maturity time of 22 years. As a Wean Clansman, Torq’s rate of maturity was slightly lower.
He had observed his development and made the calculation, ’Around 28 years, that’s pretty damn fast for a Gold Grade existence.’
Of course, amongst the Wean Clansmen, that was the slowest. He wasn’t worried about that, for just by consuming precious food resources, he could accelerate his maturity.
Peering out the window, Torq thought, ’Not a single Quill has made an appearance in this region. It’s almost too peaceful.’
’As for the Nirclicks and Narlakks, those that naturally spawned in this region have already been eaten by the Wean Clansmen. There are even some like my uncle who are rearing Narlakks as a delicacy.’ A mild smile appeared on his face, ’In the original timeline, this was one of the last regions to collapse.’
Because, this was the Celestial Boar’s home!
The Celestial Boar was capable of wielding the Natures of any existence it consumes, as if it were its own. That was why no Quill appeared in the region, for that would only serve to strengthen the Celestial Boar and make it harder for the Celestial Rotocok to claim victory.
’If Sumatra Continent had a few more centuries, the Celestial Boar would reach a level where it’s no longer worth fighting it for the Celestial Rotocok. The damages would outweigh the benefits.’ Torq thought, ’So, all I need to do is to grow and buy time. That will push us towards victory.’
Ahem!
He swallowed a Nirclick Core fed by MyuraBuntara and felt his stomach rapidly digest the contents. Then, he focused on his stomach, and found a tangible version of the DaraBuntara Pet asleep there, treating his stomach as its home.
This was the Spectral Boar’s power.
Primary Nature–Internal Tangible Cultivator!
It creates a tangible version of whatever creature the Spectral Boar consumes. This only applies to existences with one Nature. If the consumed target had more than one Nature, their tangible counterpart won’t appear.
This tangible part has the same size as the original, but seventy percent of the original’s mass and physical capabilities. Its advantage, however, was its capability to fuse with the Spectral Body, like a Treasure, allowing the latter to use its Primary Nature.
The creature’s body, in its tangible state, was termed a Tangible Nature, and was treated as the Spectral Boar’s Spirit Weapon. It could be brought out and used like a regular Spirit Weapon, kept within the stomach and nurtured, and when necessary, harness the power of its Primary Nature.
The difference between when the Tangible Nature’s power is harnessed from the stomach and when it’s fused with the body is latency. Because Prana, carrying the effects of the Nature, has to flow through the blood from the stomach and reach the epidermis, from where the Nature effect is released.
If fused with the body, the effect is instantaneous.
Tangible Nature–(Wean Clansman) Spectral Boar!
He had himself as his Tangible Nature, which added some stress to his body. Having spent the past month acclimating to the stress, Torq looked around, observing the coast was clear.
Immediately in response, he created another GaraBuntara Pet and consumed it, swallowing the heart whole, so that the Tangible Nature in his stomach could consume the heart. Then, he grinned, seeing the reaction forming in the stomach of his Tangible Nature.
