Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 165: Mud Ball Fight

Chapter 165: Mud Ball Fight
The gruff man brought Torq to their home, strangely giving him a word of advice before opening the door, “Don’t fight.”
“Huh?” Torq tilted his head in confusion and suddenly felt goosebumps appear on his skin as his sense of hunger got triggered, launching his Prana detection means by instinct. A blade of wind slammed into his chest, forming a mild cut while the force of impact sent him crashing into the wall behind him.
The cut wound on his chest healed before Torq could orient himself. He blinked once, twice, and by the third, grew serious. ’Seriously?’
At the home’s entrance was a kid, three years younger to him. It was his sister, AuraBuntara, currently aged five and was already half way to maturity.
That meant she had around 3550 units of Prana in her Spirit Container already, which was bordering on the Prana capacity of Beginner Gold Grade Pranic Beasts.
’Is this like another Runthral?’ He thought and promptly became ready to retaliate, stopping upon eyeing the facial expression of the other party, ’Why…does she look on the verge of crying?’
“Brother…!” Her voice rang out like a train’s horn as she rushed into his embrace, “You’re awake! Finally!”
“What’s happening?” For someone prepared to fight, AuraBuntara’s actions puzzled him, causing him to ask for an explanation from the gruff man.
“You might have been unconscious all along, but that didn’t mean you weren’t a part of this family.” The gruff man casually took his leave, “Whenever your mother got busy with work, your sister was the one who took care of you.”
“There’s a lot I want to show you.” AuraBuntara exclaimed in excitement and dragged Torq into their home. Her room was situated right next to his, filled with a variety of carvings. She picked up a carving of Torq, in a sleeping pose on the bed and flashed it to her brother, “Look!”
“I made a carving of you!”
“This is…?” Torq observed the carving, which seemed very lifelike. He focused on the facial expression, which seemed twisted in pain, ’I looked this horrible all along?’
“Unlike then…” AuraBuntara seemed to have noticed his gaze and commented brightly, “You look handsome now!”
“Ah…” Torq was at a loss for words, unable to match the other party’s enthusiasm. It was then did he notice AuraBuntara’s room better. There were quite a few carvings there, of trees and other items that she probably used to practice.
Among the completed carvings, the majority were of him. That’s when he realised, ’She probably spent most of her time with me, judging by her carvings that show my development across the years.’
There were only two carvings of MyuraBuntara, which seemed strange, ’Mother was always with me.’
“Is mother busy?” He asked.
“Mother…” AuraBuntara made a saddened expression, “Ever since our Ancestor returned, she has stopped coming here.”
“What?” Torq expressed his shock, “How long has it been since you last saw her?”
“Around two years ago,” AuraBuntara smiled wryly, “She spent a day with me and went away promptly after, as if afraid to spend any more time with me.”
’That makes no sense.’ Torq frowned, because from what he had witnessed, MyuraBuntara seemed very involved with the well-being of her family. ’It seems strange she’s suddenly so distant.’
For a moment, he thought of the Narlakk influence, ’No, with her cultivation, her Prana will naturally filter out the Narlakk pollen.’
As for the Quill, the likelihood of its usage was basically zero, since the Celestial Boar would be able to sense it. ’Then what’s the cause?’
“Any idea on the reason?” He asked next.
“She’s been selected to accompany our Ancestor on his journey to Nusantara Continent in a year.” AuraBuntara sighed. “I don’t know anything beyond that. No matter how much I asked, Mother never explained her actions. And grandfather has always remained mum about such matters.”
“What about father?” Torq asked next, only to hear AuraBuntara snort in response.
“Never seen him,” She snorted in anger, “I don’t care about him.”
“In a few more years, I’ll become stronger than him anyway.” She was speaking the truth, for her reaching maturity meant she had cultivated to the peak of the Body Stage, giving her the same level of strength as an adult Spectral Boar.
And then, she could enter the 2-Life Stage, surpassing her Pranic Beast father in strength.
’Seems she has been pretty lonely all along.’ The moment he had the thought, Torq recalled the scene of Runthral having breakfast along with Eureur and Raurau in the theatre. He too was seated on the table, but was treated like air.
He had gone through a variety of nightmares in the theatre. However, that one scene remained burned into his memory, ’Ah…!’
“Want to play?” He asked and patted AuraBuntara on the head.
“YES!” AuraBuntara roared her response, feeling tears well up in her eyes. “I do! I do! Let’s play!”
’How long has she been hoping for this day to come?’ Torq felt sad by her plight and subconsciously, decided to make her as happy as he could. That short exchange finalized his decision. He truly considered her as family now.
“Shall we make a sculpture together?” He asked and crouched low in the living room, where he assumed his Empyrean Spectral Boar form for a second, during which he fused the Mud Viper Tangible Nature in his body and reverted to human form.
Now, he could wield its power without much worries.
“Here!” He created a Mud Ball and watched it harden.
“Awesome!” AuraBuntara seemed to have done the same. She eyed the Mud Ball that had hardened and flickered her form to the rear end of the room, upon which a blade of wind struck the Mud Ball and carved off a portion.
“Your turn!” She laughed at Torq, only to see him slap another Mud Ball atop the existing one, “…”
“You’re supposed to carve!” She shouted, only to be hit by a Mud Ball to the face.
With a grunt, she splashed the mud away and chased after Torq, intending to kill him, only to be forced to dodge multiple Mud Balls flying her way.
…
Two hours later, AuraBuntara walked to the entrance of her house, carrying a large vat of Mud Viper toxin, pouting as she splashed it through the entrance.
Standing there, and using a shovel to scoop out the mud that softened thanks to the toxins was Torq. His face had been shaped every which way, by the beating he received from the gruff man.
In their merry way, they had filled their house with Mud Balls, which hardened to make the place seem like part of a mountain. Creating sound came from the Decodus Tree their house was situated within, due to the sudden increase in the weight its stem had to bear.
“Before the both of you clean up the place, you won’t have dinner.” The gruff man huffed his way out.
“Screw you, Brother.” AuraBuntara splashed another vat of toxins into the house.
A couple minutes later, she burst into laughter, “Your…face!”
“It looks like a beaten pig!”
Torq eyed his sister in shock and then gradually laid out the facts, “Your brother is a pig. Your mother is a pig. You too, are a pig.”
“What?” AuraBuntara seemed shocked by the answer.
“We are a race of pigs.” Torq said and chucked another Mud Ball on her stupefied face.
