Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 170: New Strains Of Adaptation

Chapter 170: New Strains Of Adaptation
The gaining of every Nature other than the Primary Nature is through the means of adaptation related to a field for which there lies some empirical foundation in the race’s genetics.
To gain the Nature of Cultivator, however, means to add an entirely new strand in the genetics of the respective Pranic Beast. This could only be attained through an extremity, the chances of which lessened the longer a creature lived.
Getting the Tertiary Nature of Cultivator was relatively the easiest when a Pranic Beast hatched. That was the most ideal situation.
The moment he gleaned a possibility, Torq wanted to get his hands on the Nature, for with his abilities, he had the means to ensure Cultivator became the Nature for a new Pranic Beast variant.
And with the aid of a Boutique Lizard, he was confident in the means to mass produce it. ’That will instantly turn every single Silver and Gold Grade Pranic Beast into a powerhouse!’
It will help Sumatra in its war against Nusantara Continent. ’And my Blessed Race form’s Tertiary Nature of Life Condensation can further help in this regard.’
’There’s a lot that I can achieve through her.’ With that in mind, he asked Whoaja, “Do you accept my proposition?”
Whoaja fell deep in thought for a few minutes, considering the pros and cons. As for the cons, she couldn’t find any. After all, merely in terms of status, the individual before her stood at the peak of the Wean Clan.
’I wanted to get closer to him initially upon learning his identity precisely to get some support.’ She thought and made eye contact with Torq, ’If he wishes to actively get involved in my research, there’s nothing more that I can ask for.’
“It is my honour, Lord GaraBuntara.” Whoaja prostrated on the floor. There wasn’t much of a difference between the two.
Whoaja was currently ten years old, even though she looked older partially due to her leaner, tall figure. Had she been older, she couldn’t have gained the Tertiary Nature of Cultivator, as the chances of getting it exponentially dropped with every passing year since birth.
“Then,” Torq propped her up and asked upon patting his stomach, “Can we eat now? I’m starving.”
After a pleasant lunch, Torq met up with AuraBuntara at the Academy’s entrance and returned home. The Binkn Academy only had classes during the morning hours, allowing the students to do whatever they pleased from the afternoon onwards.
It had been set up this way as the Wean Clansmen typically reached maturity in eight years, at which point they were considered adults in the society and could officially take up work. However, learning knowledge was a time-consuming process.
Hence, this sort of setup had been made, making it mandatory for Wean Clansmen to remain at the Academy until they have mastered five Advanced Courses or reached the age of twenty.
“Did you have fun?” AuraBuntara asked.
“Yeah,” Torq seemed a tad distracted. His mind whirred on the type of build he intended to obtain and the refinement process involved to reach that point. ’The furball’s biggest mistake after reincarnating as Boiboi was to keep the two identities separated.’
Boiboi’s power and Torq’s power remained distinct from each other. That split attention, and most of all, failed to complement each power set.
’I won’t make that mistake.’ Torq thought, for his intention was simple. His power as a Blessed Clansman will serve as a stepping stone to improve the foundation of his Spectral Boar self.
Whether it be in a fight or no matter the time or place, Torq only intended to rely upon his Spectral Boar’s build, while his Blessed Clansman build will purely serve as a stepping stone.
’I wonder how long it’ll take for the Roshmon to be delivered to me.’ He thought, actually being hopeful due to the fact that the Celestial Boar had promised him, ’Since he’s leading an expedition out of Sumatra, he’ll probably intend to keep up on his promise before that.’
’In a year’s time, the first step of my plan will be done.’ Torq smiled, for when the Roshmon gets delivered, he’ll be able to finish creating his first Tangible Nature part of his endgame build. ’In the meantime, I’ll make enough achievements to form a rapport with the Celestial Boar.’
As long as the Celestial Boar makes a promise, Torq could use it to obtain any exotic Pranic Beast he ever needs.
As the days spanned past, Torq’s life turned pretty monotonous. During classes, he participated in research alongside Whoaja to understand the subject of her course. Once he returned home, he spent some time playing with AuraBuntara, and then familiarised himself with using the Tangible Natures of many Iron Grade Pranic Beasts.
He then worked on his private research, taking aid from the Boutique Lizard Pet made using Whoaja.
Mystic Ravaged Art–Nectar!
Torq was racking up food bills like crazy, for he was eating as much as his body could realistically cope to consume. And all the excess Prana was being used to produce Nectar, which he stored in a hidden container installed in his room.
His private research consisted of one thing–extraction of a Nature from a Pranic Beast that had more than one Nature.
Held before him was a Mud Viper, on which he dropped a couple droplets of Nectar and observed the changes, ’If I can figure out all the environmental changes that affect a Pranic Beast’s mutation, I should eventually be able to figure out the aspects of the environment that I need to remove, so that the Pranic Beast’s mutation turns useless.’
Survival of the fittest implied if a Pranic Beast gained something new, but was then subjected to an environment where this addition was actually harming it, then it would eventually revert to its original form.
Since Torq had his ability to make pets, he could constantly revive the same Pet every single day. Therefore, his current goal was to make a framework where a Pranic Beast–with multiple Natures–was being subjected to environmental conditions that will regress its growth to holding only one Nature.
Whether it be the Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary, if Torq wanted one of them to remain behind, then the respective Nature will be the only one available by the time he was done with the experiment.
As long as he succeeds, he would be able to obtain a Pranic Beast out of the Boutique Lizard that holds only the Nature of Cultivator. And then, using Nectar, he could make the genetics of the respective Pranic Beast adapt better to the Nature of Cultivator, until a new race forms as a result.
“One more, today.” Torq spoke to the Boutique Lizard Pet and immersed it in a tub of water. He didn’t have the means to create multiple environmental conditions. Only an Empyrean Snapper could do that.
Since he didn’t have Subtle Terrain Domination, Torq had to think of an alternative. Tired to the wall of the tub was a Mud Viper, in a state of suspended animation. He dropped a droplet of Nectar in it, causing the Nectar to react with its genetics and drip out carrying the respective characteristics.
The Mud Viper’s adaptation was according to the environment it typically lived in. Through Nectar, the respective essence was gathered in the Nectar. As for how he endured the gathered essence was accurate?
Mystic Sumatra Art–Imprint Check!
Basically, it treated the imprint in the Nectar as an Information Slip, allowing Torq to access the respective information and determine if the correct genetic strain was imprinted.
“It’s ready,” Speaking as such, he injected the Nectar carrying the genetic strain into the Boutique Lizard Pet, and made the latter activate Mystic Sumatra Art to imprint the Nectar on its Prana.
And this information, from the Prana, was then imprinted upon its blood, gradually adding a new genetic strain to the Boutique Lizard genetics.
