Chapter 180: Railway Assassin (Part 2)
In Torq’s stomach were two Tangible Natures in total.
Tangible Nature–Millinger!
Tangible Nature–Mud Viper!
He didn’t feel the need to have anything more at the moment, since his goal was to create the Tangible Nature of his choice, and only then start his growth. Until then, it was futile having multiple Tangible Natures whose influence he had to keep enduring.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
The sounds of a round of applause rang in his ears as Torq noticed the theatre seats superimpose upon some of the railway compartment’s seats. The moment he became serious, he started to hallucinate.
The pellet strung to his neck whirred in response, lowering the intensity of the hallucination as the theatre seats almost vanished. The sounds of applause too died down, at least enough that he could hear the happenings from reality.
The moment the Free Human man stopped next to his cabin, Torq took action, firing off a series of Mud Balls to serve as a cushion right as the other party fired off an Empyrean Boar transformation.
Boom!
The compartment walls exploded as a result of the space expansion from the twenty metre long Empyrean Boar’s appearance. Torq was sent flying outward, when he rolled through the layer of mud covering his body and barely slipped to the side, landing on the floor of the compartment closer to the edge.
The guard stationed to his right slammed into the wall of the railway tunnel and grunted in anger. He activated a Nature of Shredded Lunge and leapt into a trailing compartment to slide in through the window.
Then, he raced towards the compartment with Torq, only to collapse upon the floor as four Free Humans sneak attacked him, “What the…?”
Battles broke everywhere across the railway as the Free Humans quickly identified their allies and enemies. And then, they began to kill the Wean Clansmen.
Even though the Wean Clansmen were stronger individuals, possessing Gold Grade strengths and a Life Stage cultivation, the Free Humans from the Varahan Empire, despite a majority of them only having Silver Grade strength and a Body Stage cultivation, were winning due to sheer numbers.
Wean Clansmen were outnumbered in this railway by at least sixty to one. The number difference was staggering.
’Just how many of us have been replaced?’ One of the two guards frowned, ’No, that’s not it. They probably forged identities only to infiltrate now.’
The Wean Clansman with the respective identity was probably either in the city, going about their usual life, or travelling on a mission. The Free Humans had properly taken advantage of such identities to enter the railway.
Their only goal was to enter the railway, so that they could complete their mission, ’Dammit!’
The guard wanted to do the duty he had been assigned, but he was besieged by dozens of attacks that were rapidly cutting through the defences of his Pranic Beast flesh.
Without the defences of his Empyrean Boar form, the Wean Clansman would have already lost his three lives.
GRAH!
Suddenly, a painful squeal thundered through the railway, as the Free Human who had transformed into an Empyrean Boar got his head ripped up in two. Standing in the centre, with blood and brain matter dripping upon him was Torq.
Tangible Nature–Millinger!
A Free Human used Shredded Lunge to jump Torq, aiming the wind blades from the end of his jump straight at Torq’s neck. Prana surged out of his left hand, generating an Eddy Blade.
He had been accumulating Prana all along, and the moment he had charged up an Eddy Blade, he ignored the exponential increase in Prana consumption to charge up a second Spirit Weapon, which was the Nature of Shredded Lunge.
“Die!” As his attacks approached Torq’s neck, the Free Human roared with determination, intending to kill the other party no matter what. But then, whether it be the wind blade or the Eddy Blade, both dissipated, stunning him, “What?”
A robust arm grabbed him by the head and crushed it flat.
“Tch!” Torq flicked his hand once to throw away the blood and brain matter that had splattered upon him. He chucked the headless Free Human and eyed the other enemies nearby. The moment the attacks appeared, he used his Millinger Tangible Nature’s Inhibition Dome, rendering all externally actuated Prana effects useless.
He faced his palm towards another opponent and launched a spike, cleanly piercing through the other party.
“Ah…ahh…AHHH!” The Free Human wanted to escape as the spike began to melt his body. But right as he freed himself from the first spike, a second pierced him, then a third, and by the fourth, he had melted into a puddle.
Having practiced enough, Torq was able to control his Millinger Tangible Nature to unleash one spike at a time upon activating Bone-Melting Artillery.
Currently, he had an option to either unleash one spike at a time or carpet bomb the place. With more training, he could control the number of spikes he could unleash at a time. At the moment, he intended to make do with what he could.
Ack! Urgh!
A Free Human rushed at him, focusing only on activating Nature whose effects were internally actuated, such as Empyrean Boar Transformation and Shredded Lunge.
Even though the wind blade portion of the Shredded Lunge will be dissipated by Inhibition Dome, the lunging portion was still effective, since it was internally actuated. Hence, upon jumping closeup to Torq using Shredded Lunge, the Free Human transformed into an Empyrean Boar, using the space expansion to slam his target away.
“GaraBuntara!” One of Torq’s uncles shouted in alarm and activated a series of Shredded Lunges in quick succession, hurriedly rushing to the rescue of Torq who was ganged upon by a group of Free Humans.
Thump! Thud! Bang!
Due to the effects of Inhibition Dome, most of their prepared Natures were useless. Hence, the Free Humans focused on punches and kicks.
A Free Human angled his body and activated Shredded Lunge as he extended his hand forward. Shredded Lunge carried him forward, using the momentum of which the Free Human’s extended fist landed squarely in Torq’s face.
His arm got crushed from the impact, but as the Free human landed twenty metres away, he ran behind the crowd of his comrades, waiting for his arm to regenerate. In the meantime, the other Free Humans used the same tactics, jumping towards Torq while using the momentum to crash their limbs into him.
Boom!
Torq slapped forth two Mud Balls, hindering the lunge of a couple Free Humans. He then launched a spike to a farther Free Human and impaled the target. Raising his hands up in guard, Torq tanked the punch to his face, feeling tense.
’I have killed eight of them till now.’ He was panting a little, hurriedly blasting forth Mud Balls to create a temporary wall for the carriage as he rolled inside, ’They’re trying to push me out!’
The moment Torq gets trapped in the tunnel, the Free Humans would be able to calmly kill him. ’No matter what, I should stay within the railway!’
Boom!
Right as he rolled to safety, a Free Human lunged towards him, ignoring the spike that punctured through his head as he transformed into an Empyrean Boar at the last moment, ’Shit!’
The space expansion from the transformation pushed Torq out of bounds, slamming him into the walls of the railway tunnel.
A mere second later, right as Torq gathered his bearings and intended to rush back into the railway, before its last compartment moved past him, Torq observed dozens of Free Humans recklessly lunge upon him.
