Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 192: Empyrean Cosmic Brully

Chapter 192: Empyrean Cosmic Brully
Thump! Thump!
Torq felt himself lost in a world of dread, feeling an overwhelming force slam into him. To his senses, it was like a geyser endlessly gushing out of the statue to form a kilometre tall tsunami.
This tsunami hadn’t even crashed into him. It just poised itself, like a cobra ready to strike. And that caused Torq to grow so nervous, he waved his hand forward, intending to retaliate.
Thud!
Someone grabbed his arm, pausing his Nature activation. Torq returned to his senses, feeling as if the endlessly gushing tsunami had retreated, no longer poised to destroy him.
He felt momentary relief, only upon which did he look at the individual who had stopped him from launching an attack. It was a short man, slightly taller than him.
“Don’t,” The man shook his head, “Unless you wish to court death.”
“Chief!” Torq blurted in surprise, for the man who had stopped him was none other than the Wean Clan Chief, KalTara. He then asked upon realising the other party seemed to know what was up, “That…statue…”
“I was afraid you might do something like this ever since you purchased a ticket to the library.” KalTara breathed out a sigh in relief, “Good thing I kept a watch over you.”
’He tailed me?’ Torq was stunned, ’But I never sensed him!’
He always felt a sense of hunger towards everyone around him. The intensity of hunger he felt was a direct correlation of the quality in the cells making up the flesh and blood of the target, revealing their strength.
He refrained from focusing on the Celestial Boar, for the sheer level of hunger he felt was enough to make him go mad. The first time he was in the palace hall, he wasn’t able to pause his sense of hunger.
However, it felt like he was completely satiated, for some reason. Torq judged the Celestial Boar was able to switch off his sense of hunger. His thoughts were confirmed for the second time he entered the palace hall, his sense of hunger got promptly switched off.
The only two times this happened was in the palace hall. The rest of the time, it was active. Torq didn’t have the means to switch it off, for it was like a living being’s sense of hunger, only in his case, it also allowed him to perceive the strength of his prey.
Torq’s present visit to the Gold Varahan Library was precisely to gain a Skill that allows him to switch off this hunger, for if he were to encounter a Mystic Grade existence while in Nusantara, the sense of hunger will drive him insane.
Until now, it was able to detect even existences that were hidden from view, including the two Free Human assassins with a State of Harmony that none of his family were able to sense, except him.
However, the fact that KalTara had tailed him while not even being registered in his senses stunned Torq, ’How is this possible?’
He asked for a reason immediately, “I can sense even a State of Harmony expert from the Varahan Empire that’s hidden from the senses of everyone else. How did I not sense…”
“No,” Torq eyed KalTara in disbelief, “I’m staring right at you, but my sense of hunger is still not registering anything about you.”
“I have merely adjusted my presence to mimic yours.” KalTara chuckled, “You won’t feel hungry towards yourself, right?”
“If something that easy worked, I would have died ages ago.” Torq retorted.
“Well, it’s a matter of skill.” KalTara chuckled, “I can mimic your presence at a level it truly feels like I’m a part of your body. That’s how your sense of hunger registers me.”
“Don’t fret too much,” KalTara patted Torq on the shoulder upon seeing the rattled expression of the latter, “As you keep growing, your sense of hunger will become more pronounced, more nuanced. Eventually, you’ll be able to sense me too.”
“That’ll happen if my growth stops.” KalTara laughed in arrogance and shrugged an arm around Torq to speak casually, “Your sense of hunger has already reached a level where you could perceive the presence hidden within that statue.”
“Other than the Ancestor and myself, you’re the third person to do so.” KalTara smiled, “You can be absolutely proud of this fact.”
“What exactly is within it?” Torq felt strange to see the Wean Chief treating him as an equal.
“That’s a part of Leukeu, of course.” KalTara grinned, “This is where his journey began in the truest sense. And when he became a pinnacle existence, I chased after him and made a deal.”
“That statue,” He eyed the statue, “Exists to protect the Gold Varahan Library, from all harm.”
Intermediate Mystic Grade Pranic Beast–Empyrean Cosmic Brully!
It had come into existence mere minutes before the start of Torq’s every regression. Or rather, the situation that resulted in the birth of the Empyrean Cosmic Brully was something Torq never intended to interfere with.
After all, that would give Nusantara Continent the means to interfere with the situation and truly jeopardise Sumatra’s existence.
That was why he had taken measures to regress to a timeline only after that situation ended and the Empyrean Cosmic Brully was born.
Sumatra Continent only had three existences capable of using a State of Unity. The first existence to unlock it was obviously the Celestial Boar, who had the previous era named after him.
Second was the Royal Zinger, an existence that rose up to defeat the Celestial Boar. The final one was the Empyrean Cosmic Brully.
’That should be the product of his State of Unity.’ Torq thought as he eyed the statue, ’Though, I never thought something like this was possible. It never appeared in the book.’
’Well, it makes sense, since development continues to happen across the Continent.’ He quickly came to terms with it and asked KalTara a question, “How many of these statues exist in our region?”
“You’re not qualified to know.” KalTara chuckled and patted Torq on the back, “Well, as long as you refrain from peering into the statue for too long, you won’t get killed.”
“Now that I have warned you, I’ll take my leave.” KalTara waved his hand, “I need to prepare for the expedition.”
“You’re also going, Chief?” Torq was stunned, “Then…who will defend the Wean Clan in your absence?”
“The defensive arrangements have already been made.” KalTara expressed his confidence, “No external party will dare set foot here.”
“Now get going.” KalTara casually walked away and suddenly vanished from Torq’s view, “I’m looking forward to your growth,”
“GaraBuntara.”
