Sumatra's Greatest Fan - Chapter 191: Gold Varahan Library

Chapter 191: Gold Varahan Library
Mystic Sumatra Art, according to its Founder’s intent, was created as a technique capable of being wielded by all Pranic Beasts.
Typically, Pranic Beasts never needed a cultivation technique, for any benefits associated with a cultivation technique was something their physique could naturally do.
Information Slips? They had the means genetically imbued to transfer information through parts of their bodies, acting similar to Information Slips.
Skills? As long as they perform a certain action enough times, no different from regular training, they’ll grow the muscles necessary to unleash an effect with greater potency, which is the essence of a Skill.
Prime Skill? Reaching this level enables in the Pranic Beast a possibility to mutate, for only when a Skill gets taken to its absolute extremity is it called a Prime Skill. And once it can individually interact with Prana and express its effects onto Sumatra, it becomes a Nature.
That’s when the Pranic Beast successfully Mutates. This was why Sumatra had plenty of Mutated Pranic Beasts, because as long as they figure out a suitable Skill for their genetics, train it relentlessly until it reaches the level of a Prime Skill, and adapt until the effect of the Prime Skill can be unleashed in its base form, as if it were born with the necessary function.
That is when it becomes a Mutated Pranic Beast. Centingers had a stable path in this regard, which is why they could systematically create Millingers upon demand.
That’s why Pranic Beasts never needed a cultivation technique. Of course, this was only true for Iron, Silver, and Gold Grade cultivation techniques.
When a cultivation technique reaches the Mystic Grade, its effects become on par with a Nature. Just being able to practice a Mystic Grade cultivation technique means having another Nature in one’s possession.
And Mystic Sumatra Art was created specifically for the Pranic Beasts to use. Of course, it hadn’t been divulged much to Pranic Beasts at the moment, for any race could pretty much change its fate using Mystic Sumatra Art.
Hence, powerful Races with strategic capabilities were brought to the Wean Clan, in hopes of employing their services to the betterment of the Wean Clan in exchange of Mystic Sumatra Art.
By gaining access to Mystic Sumatra Art, these Pranic Beasts could try to create useful Skills for their respective races and attempt the creation of Prime Skills, for with Mystic Sumatra Art, mutating had become many times easier.
If they can lay the groundwork for mutation, their respective Race could rapidly strengthen itself. And upon Mutation, there was a solid chance they’ll attain the Empyrean prefix to their names.
The Empyrean prefix to a name signals that it had reached its genetic limit. That’s why Empyrean Tusks and Empyrean Snappers had the respective prefix.
Of course, these two Races had reached their limit only after hitting Sumatra’s limit for natural birth. There existed plenty of Races that hit their genetic limits way earlier, some even at the Iron Grade.
When a Pranic Beast race attains the prefix of Empyrean, it only has one path left for progress, which is to grab Free Humans, pour its influence into their Spirit Containers until they turn into Ravaged Tribesmen, and hope at least one of them is talented enough to become a Clansman.
For when a Ravaged Tribesman fully adjusts and adapts to the Pranic Beast genetics infused into them, they turn into a Clansman. And this change creates a sort of energy with a harmonious mix of Free Human and Pranic Beast genetics, which funnels into the source of the genetics–the Pranic Beast.
This ends up causing the Pranic Beast to undergo an Evolution. And the moment it evolves, it will mate with its predecessors and keep producing progeny until at least a few of the progeny are born as part of the evolved race and not its predecessor.
The moment there appears enough of the evolved Pranic Beast, the first thing they do apart from killing the Clansman is to get rid of their predecessors. It is a purge of sorts, to prevent information about their genetic secrets from getting leaked to the enemies, which is possible through both the predecessors and the Clansman.
The creation of Mystic Sumatra Art drastically increased the chances of success for this process. And hence, the races that control it first will have the chance to move ahead of others and aim for the limit of Sumatra.
All the Pranic Beasts that had been brought to the Wean Clan had such an ambition. They were majorly Gold Grade Pranic Beasts, and had grouped together to create a place of sorts that fuel research and development.
Gold Grade Pranic Beasts were significantly more capable than humans, whose intelligence and information processing capabilities were only on par with Silver Grade Pranic Beasts.
And when a large group of Gold Grade Pranic Beasts from various races, with completely different perspectives, needs, and outlook on life pool their resources together to research Mystic Sumatra Art, the cultivation technique gets developed to incredible levels.
The place where this is done is the Gold Varahan Library!
For a price of 1000 Credits, a Wean Clansman can access the library and interact with the Librarians. The Gold Grade Pranic Beasts part of the Gold Varahan Library were uniformly addressed as Librarians.
Arriving at the entrance to the library with a ticket that he had just purchased, Torq took in the sights of the place, ’I can purchase at least a few useful Skills from here.’
At the moment, he was incredibly lacking in his usage of Mystic Sumatra Art. But instead of wracking his brain, trying to come up with valuable Skills, he could just learn suitable ones from the library.
And if there isn’t anything suitable for him to learn, he could commission the Librarians to customize a Skill for him, for a huge sum of money, of course.
Before he entered the library, Torq’s attention fell upon the statue erected beside the entrance, of a 100-metre-tall humanoid Pranic Beast. It was a statue built using Vara, honouring a Librarian who had reached the pinnacle realm.
And in large, bold words, the entity’s title was carved.
Sumatra’s Defender–Leukeu!
Torq knew who Leukeu was, for he read about him in the climax section of the book. Just as he was casually observing the statue, his eyes locked onto the other party. And then…
Thump! Thump!
The eyes stared back.
