Chapter 256: Chapter 167: What’s the Difference Between This and a Wizard Apprentice? (Part 2)
Though the two snake heads quickly reformed, their bodies appeared somewhat illusory, and the scales on the snake heads grew increasingly dull.
Without the ability to absorb nourishment from the seeds of murderous intent, these seven transformed giant pythons were no match for the Secret Puppet girl.
With every kill and rebirth, energy was rapidly declining.
Witnessing this scene, Saulo’s heart sank.
Initially thinking that the bloodline ability of Carlos Python could easily handle the people in the forest cabin, it was unexpected that Sunan still had such a trump card hidden.
“Relying on the seven snake heads is hopeless; the only solution now is to get rid of Sunan first!”
A cold light flashed in Saulo’s eyes. He thrust out his hands, twisting them into two hideous snake heads, swiftly extending forward, hissing and lunging to bite Sunan.
At the same time, a peculiar wave enveloped Sunan entirely.
Eerie spiritual power drilled into Sunan’s mind, intending to warp his thoughts.
“Some people never learn,”
Sunan sneered, without hesitation using the last Funeral Bell Mark.
As the thunderous sound of the funeral bell erupted, Yiluo stumbled out from the shadows hundreds of meters away. Before she could catch her breath, two Refined Gold Golems descended from the sky, surrounding her, pounding their iron fists down upon her.
Night Owl and the others, intending to step forward to assist, saw this and immediately halted, secretly clicking their tongues.
Not just one, but two Refined Gold Golems!
On the other side, Saulo was also shaken by the sound waves of the funeral bell, groaning as the two hideous snake heads exploded into a mist of blood.
He retracted his hands, both arms already drenched in blood.
“Bloodline Mark!”
Saulo’s temples throbbed violently.
Having lived nearly two hundred years, and fought against perhaps seventy or eighty Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, he had never encountered someone like Sunan, whose trump cards seemed endless.
It was truly troubling!
The only consolation was that Sunan was likely severely drained from previous battles, and his spiritual power was likely near exhaustion; otherwise, he wouldn’t cease casting spells after a single clash.
In other words, Sunan now only had those magic artifacts for protection.
Once his magic artifacts are depleted, he can be defeated!
Saulo made his decision in a flash, forcefully slashing the palm of his right hand, causing the skin to split open, but what flowed out wasn’t blood, but a gray, viscous liquid.
With excellent eyesight, Sunan clearly saw what appeared to be sesame-sized white dots within the liquid.
Upon contact with air, these white dots rapidly expanded as if inflated, turning into egg-like objects, then cracked open, revealing slender little snakes soaked in the mucus inside.
The mucus quickly evaporated in the air, while the snakes swiftly grew larger.
In an instant, the cavern was filled with hundreds of giant pythons over ten meters long, hissing as they charged at Sunan.
Sunan’s expression remained unchanged, flipping his wrist to reveal a High-level Rune Gemstone in his palm.
In the next moment, a deafening explosion erupted, countless snake-like bolts of lightning burst forth within the cavern, instantly obliterating dozens of giant pythons.
Saulo’s eye twitched, his face darkening as he unleashed a swarm of snake eggs once again.
Sunan now saw through Saulo’s plan, chuckled inwardly, and took out another High-level Rune Gemstone.
For a while, the cavern was filled with the hissing of snake tongues and the rumble of thunder reverberating non-stop!
Giant pythons continued to be born and were subsequently obliterated by lightning.
The center of the cavern had clearly become a battleground resembling a meat grinder!
Observing from the side, Night Owl and the others instinctively swallowed, secretly amazed.
If they had to face either of these two, they would definitely be dead without question!
Their powers were indeed in a league of their own!
Boom!
Lightning exploded, once again eradicating the surrounding giant pythons!
Saulo’s face turned pale; he made no further moves this time.
After all, the snake eggs within him weren’t infinite, and the fierce battle earlier had already depleted them all.
Seeing this, Sunan coldly smiled, flipping his hand to reveal four High-level Rune Gemstones between his fingers, glinting under the fluorescent light at the cavern’s top.
For this operation, he had prepared over a hundred High-level Rune Gemstones.
Though the previous battles, especially against multi-winged monsters, consumed a considerable amount, nearly a hundred remained.
Saulo wanting to compete in attrition was purely a dead-end.
Even another Saulo wouldn’t be able to match him!
To take a step back, even without High-level Rune Gemstones, he still had the golden apple and the golem legion within the magic cube; losing the attrition battle was simply impossible.
The moment Saulo decided to engage in attrition, his fate was already sealed.
Seeing the four gemstones in Sunan’s hand, Saulo’s face instantly turned ashen.
In the next moment, accompanied by a loud explosion, blinding lightning engulfed Saulo!
Not far away, the seven snake heads, already battered to near death by the Secret Puppet, as illusory as if they might vanish at any moment, suddenly convulsed as if electrocuted, and then abruptly shattered like foam.
Sunan fixed his gaze, watching as the lightning dissipated, revealing only a charred corpse.
“The body fused with ancient bloodlines is indeed formidable, not reduced to ashes despite this.”
Sunan marvelled quietly.
The power of the combined strike from four High-level Rune Gemstones was enough to obliterate even a Refined Gold Golem, yet Saulo’s body remained; his physique was truly astonishing.
Without rushing forward, Sunan let the Secret Puppet girl inspect, confirming Saulo was indeed dead, then instructed her to retrieve the Space Ring, before turning his gaze toward Yiluo in the distance.
Immune to all illusion techniques, under the siege of two Refined Gold Golems, Yiluo was no longer composed as before but instead in a perilous situation.
Witnessing Saulo’s death at Sunan’s hands, she realized the danger and attempted to escape, but Sunan’s gaze had already found her.
“I let you escape amidst the chaos once before, didn’t expect you to dare return, thinking there would be a second chance?”
Sunan sneered.
Without him having to act, the Secret Puppet girl charged forward.
Facing an opponent with combat capability comparable to top-tier Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, immune to illusions, Yiluo found herself almost powerless, quickly having her Shield Skill and magical item protection layers shattered by the Secret Puppet girl, then decapitated by a single sword stroke.
The head soared high, landed more than ten meters away, then rolled far before finally stopping, its bright blue eyes still firmly staring at the cavern ceiling, lingering with resentment and terror.
Sunan shrugged.
Specializing in illusions could indeed exert immense power at times, but encountering opponents immune to illusions, one would be absolutely suppressed with no chance to retaliate.
“Although it’s unnecessary to specialize, it’s still worth exploring slightly.”
Sunan took Yiluo’s Space Ring, opened it for a glance, finding many Wizard’s Scriptures inside; perhaps he could find illusion spells among them.
Pocketing the ring, Sunan glanced at Night Owl and the others nearby, then headed towards the multi-winged monster.
Due to its position in the corner, the multi-winged monster wasn’t affected by the earlier battle and instead managed to recover some strength.
Seeing Sunan approaching, the divine creature frantically flapped its wings, stirring up air currents to lift itself, attempting to flee, but was knocked down by the Secret Puppet girl’s sword.
She then followed up with several punches, leaving the multi-winged monster completely powerless.
Only then did Sunan bring out the gemstone to begin drawing the Sealing Array.
Only at this point did Night Owl and the others gradually recover, gazing at Sunan’s back with complex emotions.
There was both awe and admiration.
The fearsome founder of the Eternal Life Association just died at Sunan’s hands.
Before this, he had even subdued a Tier Four Legend divine creature.
Such strength genuinely inspired inner exclamation.
Knowing Sunan for so long, only today did they deeply realize how powerful Sunan truly was.
In the entire southeastern region of the continent, it’s likely impossible to find a more potent Wizard Apprentice than Sunan!
