Ten Lucky Draws: I Became OP - Chapter 489: A Night of Gods (3)

Chapter 489: A Night of Gods (3)
The Grand Ball had only just begun, yet the tension in the hall was already thick enough to cut with a blade.
“Is this to be some sort of joke?”
The voice rang out clearly, cutting through the murmurs before Layla, Elara, and Evelyn could even begin their introduction.
All eyes shifted toward the speaker — an elder from the Sword Pavilion, one of the most respected sword sects in Reality Nine.
He was a tall, stern man with a long silver beard and sharp, arrogant eyes.
He had been among those quietly eyeing the massive stronghold months earlier, his pride and patience clearly worn thin.
He stood up from his table, voice loud and challenging.
“You invite the entire verse here under the guise of a celebration, speak in riddles about Heaven and the Night, and now you expect us to sit quietly while you parade your so-called Gods?”
“Who do you think you are?”
The hall fell into a heavy, anticipatory silence.
Many guests held their breath, some had secretly been hoping for a confrontation, others fearing it.
Before any of the three women on the floor could respond, Summer appeared.
She materialized directly in front of the elder in a flicker of black light, her long black hair swaying gently as she stood barely a foot away from him.
HUMM!
The elder’s eyes widened, but before he could react, Summer raised her hand and gently touched her fingertips to his forehead.

With a simple thought, she activated her newest upgrade to her Codex Power.
In that instant, a subtle yet potent pulse of energy emanated outward, scarcely detectable to the senses.
The elder’s soul was severed from his body in an abrupt and irreversible act.
His physical form halted mid-inhalation, eyes locked wide in silent terror, as the essence of his being was violently torn away.
A moment later, a large, dark golem — similar in design to the one that still held Vesper — materialized beside Summer.
She casually flicked her wrist, and the elder’s soul was thrown into the golem like a discarded rag.
The golem’s eyes glowed once before it became motionless, now housing the trapped soul of the arrogant elder.
Summer turned around without another word and walked back to her throne on the dais, sitting down as if nothing had happened.
Layla, Elara, Clara and Evelyn exchanged small, amused glances before Layla chuckled softly, her voice carrying clearly across the now-silent hall.
“Well… that was rude of him.”
Elara smiled gently, picking up where they had left off as if the interruption had never occurred.
“As we would have said…”
Layla stepped forward first, her presence calm and commanding.
“I am Layla — or Lady Truth, as some call me. The Goddess of Truth.” She paused for a moment and smiled.
“I’m the mother of Clara, the grandmother of Elara, and the great-grandmother of Evelyn. I’m also the wife of the one above them all.”
Hearing this the room was instantly confused, but they’d learned from blatantly speaking out.
Elara followed, her long pastel purple hair swaying gently as she offered a warm smile.
“I’m Elara, Goddess of Change—mother to Evelyn, niece to Clara, and wife of the One God.”
Clara and Evelyn stepped up together, their contrasting energies — bright and gentle — complementing each other perfectly.
Clara chuckled at their words, unfazed by the deliberate complexity in their explanation of the relationship.
Within the family, there had never been any ambiguity.
With Ash, one was either counted among his Wives, Brothers or his Children, and accordingly, the heirs of the Pantheon regarded the Wives solely as their mothers, without exception.
“I am Clara, the Goddess of Unspoken Verity,” she introduced herself with quiet authority.
Evelyn, smiling gently, followed with her own introduction. “And I am Evelyn, the Goddess of Perpetual Change.”
The four women then began to display their prowess in subtle, almost casual ways that still left the hall in awe.
Clara stepped forward first.
Much like Aurora, she had no real need to summon any power or tap into divinity.
Once someone reached a certain level of strength and existence, their mere presence was enough to accomplish anything in their field—so long as they weren’t in battle.
She lifted a hand and uttered a single, quiet sentence.
“Everyone in this hall will feel the truth of their own heart for the next ten seconds.”
And…. the effect was immediate.
HUMMM!
A wave of raw, uncontrollable honesty swept through the grand hall like a silent storm.
Guests who had been calmly sipping wine suddenly stiffened, their mouths moving before their minds could stop them.
A high-ranking Sect Elder from the eastern domains blurted out, eyes wide with horror, “I came here to scout for weaknesses in your defenses… I was going to report everything back to my Patriarch so we could plan an ambush later—”
His companion, a Clan Leader, gasped and then involuntarily added, “I brought poison meant for the drinks— I was going to test it on one of your lower members to see if it worked—”
A woman in an elegant gown from a merchant alliance covered her mouth too late. “I slept with three different elders just to steal an invitation to come here— I wanted to seduce one of your men for information—”
Instantly the Chaos… Khaos seen brewing had erupted in pockets across the hall.
Some guests tried to clamp their hands over their mouths, only for more truths to spill between their fingers.
Others stood frozen, faces flushed with shame or rage as their deepest ambitions and petty schemes poured out.
“Brother?” Tyla asked, her voice laced with confusion.
In that moment, she was still sheltered by her mother’s protection, but Eldrin… he had never known such safety.
Amid the chaos, Eldrin — the Witch’s son — suddenly emerged just a few steps from Evelyn.
He dropped to one knee without warning, his face flushed and his voice trembling with raw honesty forced out by Elara’s power.
“Evelyn… I came here from Reality Ten with the intention of putting this Pantheon in its place. My mother sent me to observe and undermine you if possible.” He revealed.
“But the moment I saw you… I fell deeply in love. I can’t stop thinking about you. Your grace, your power, your kindness — it’s consumed me.”
He stood up, breathing heavily…. Then, with a look of helpless determination, he walked closer to the dais and raised his voice so the entire hall could hear.
“I… I confess my love for all of you. Every woman in the Ineffable Pantheon. Your beauty, your strength, your unity — it’s overwhelming. I would give anything to be near you all.”
