Chapter 493: The Arrival of The One (3)
“Trying to play the fool, huh?” Ash said his owl form looked over, the golden eyes locking onto the Watcher’s with utter calmness.
The Watcher shuddered under that gaze, a visible tremor running through his snowy feathers.
And instead of indulging in things about the Mother, he quickly switched the topic.
“…Who are you?” he asked, his golden eyes narrowing. “And what… are you?”
Hearing those words, Ash’s form gave a small, almost amused hoot.
“Well… it’s about time for me to introduce myself, isn’t it?” He said, “But don’t think you’re done seeing me, old pal.~”
With that, he pushed off the railing and flew from the Watcher, gliding in slow, majestic circles high above the grand venue.
—-
In that moment, a single, brilliant spotlight of golden light suddenly shone down on him from above, illuminating his regal owl form for the entire hall to see.
Instantly, all attention was drawn to him. As the music and conversations in the hall gradually died down as all eyes turned upward.
Perched on their thrones, apart from the bustling crowd, Katherine, Raven, and Summer exchanged knowing smiles.
Katherine let out a soft chuckle. “Sonna put it perfectly—he’s always had a thing for the dramatics, hasn’t he?”
Raven folded her arms with a smile.
“Honestly, I’d bet he spent the whole time just watching, letting the tension simmer.”
Summer’s eyes glimmered with quiet amusement as she leaned back comfortably. “Well,” she said with a hint of anticipation, “the one everyone’s been waiting for has finally arrived.”
—
High above the venue, Ash’s owl form began to glow brighter.
HUM!!!!!
In a slow, deliberate transformation, he shifted back into his normal form — long black and red hair flowing, golden eyes shining with calm authority, two infinity earrings glinting at his ears, and light brown skin glowing with an almost ethereal radiance.
Seeing him… as this was many of their first time. The entire hall fell into a stunned, breathless silence.
Then the reactions erupted.
Ancestor Seeker, standing near one of the side balconies with Tyla and Eldrin’s brother, turned her head upward.
Her warm brown eyes widened slightly as seeing him again was nothing like what she’d last seen…
But she regained her composure as she leaned toward Tyla, speaking softly.
“Easy, child. Maybe… your brother will be fine.” She said, “I will try to negotiate something… now that he’s shown up.”
Tyla scowled, her violet-streaked hair shifting as she clenched her fists tightly at her sides.
She had been trying her best to maintain composure for the mission but worry for Eldrin was clearly eating at her.
“Maybe? That… man took him like he was nothing. If he hurts my brother—”
Seeker placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, smiling with a mix of worry and quiet anticipation.
“Then we’ll deal with it. But for now… focus.” She said, “I’ve told you already, if you are going to establish Reality Ten’s rule again… then he is the one.”
Although she had said that, Ancestor Seeker was already searching for other ways to test Ash.
Seeing that even his wives could simply speak Mana out of existence, she knew this plan was already done for.
But still… it was strange that she wanted to keep testing him, as if she hadn’t already seen more than enough.
—
Male, who had been quietly conversing with The Merchant in a shadowed corner, suddenly froze mid-sentence.
His long black hair shifted as he looked up, his pale face showing rare, genuine surprise.
The Merchant, who had been trying to persuade him to join, fell silent as well.
Her fiery hair seemed to spark in the light as she fixed Ash with a sharp, measuring gaze.
“…So that’s him,” she murmured under her breath. “No wonder the others can’t stop whispering about him.”
Male gave no reply, only swirling the wine in his glass a little faster, as his thoughts tumbled rapidly through his mind.
—-
Ancestor Sealing, standing with Lord Alchemy and the Prime Devourer, exchanged conflicted glances with them.
His weathered face tightened, the earlier confidence in their sealing plan… had obviously long began to crumble.
While Lord Alchemy’s long white beard gave a slight twitch as he frowned. The Prime Devourer’s shifting form quivered with unease.
Even still… all three stood firm, yet the unease was plain to see.
—-
The Gambler, who had never seen Ash before, stared with wide eyes from his table, his usual smugness gone.
“Who… the hell is that?” he muttered under his breath.
Ancestor Thinking simply arched a brow, his expression unreadable but clearly intrigued as he observed the man at the center of all the chaos.
Throughout the hall, guests from all corners of existence were overwhelmed.
Ash hovered there for a few more seconds, letting the weight of his presence settle over the entire venue like an invisible crown.
Then he finally spoke, his voice calm, warm, and carrying effortlessly to every corner of the grand hall.
“I hope you all have been enjoying the Grand Ball thus far,” he said with his trademark smile — casual, confident, and just a little dangerous.
He paused, golden eyes sweeping across the crowd.
“Since many of you have been wondering… allow me to introduce myself properly.”
Ash blinked once as an innate power activated.
|One Sight|
In that moment, the entire Grand Ball shifted.
The grand hall, the guests, the music — everything faded into a soft, ethereal haze as Ash projected his memories directly before everyone present.
It was not forceful; rather, it felt as though they had stepped into the beginning of a film, with the past unfolding around them as if they were witnessing it in real time.
“I hold many titles and bear many names,” Ash declared, his hands clasped behind his back.
“But I am Ash Originat, Creator of the Ineffable Pantheon—Husband, Father, and Brother to all who stand behind me.”
As his words came to an end, there was no need for him to say anything more. He simply let those who wondered who he was or where he had come from find their answers on their own.
“Tick tock, motherfuckers,” the clock Aurora had crafted suddenly spoke, even though only a few hours had passed since she first brought it into being.
What had once been ten hours abruptly shifted to just one with Ash’s arrival.
“Will it be damnation, or will it be paradise? Tick tock, motherfuckers!”
