The Broken Halo - Chapter 348: Pierce The Brain

Chapter 348: 348: Pierce The Brain
Despite the words of his foolish classmate, Simon knew that it carried no weight.
Instructor Amahi never told them to work together, to form teams, or to save one another.
Her instructions were for them not to hurt or kill one another.
If Simon ignored this foolish classmate of his, he should and would not be punished.
However, Simon could see that ignoring and leaving this foolish classmate of his to die could have a particular negative effect.
In this simulation, they were in a war against the Bulwark clan, and for them to win this war, they needed to fight together.
He was certain that instructor Amahi would be watching out for things like this, and she would most likely report back to her superiors.
The academy and clan already knows that he was a lone wolf who had no empathy for his classmates or even his seniors.
But what of during a time of war?
Would Simon choose to put aside his differences and fight for the clan?
Or would he remain the same and even decide to kill his classmates and fellow clan members in a time of war.
War was a different scenario, and one little mistake or discord could cause a clan to lose the war and become history.
The decisions he makes in this simulation and in the future simulations to come would help the clan to know what sort of action they should take when it comes to Simon in a time of war.
Unfortunately for his foolish classmate, Simon could think of numerous ways to make him die even with his ’help’.
It was easy, and he believed that he could even do it in a way that instructor Amahi would not notice anything wrong and would just believe that they were unfortunate and weak.
However, Simon had no desire to waste his time pretending to help his dumb classmate.
He was on a time limit to get the reward instructor Amahi promised them. Besides, he might get exposed if he pretended to help them which would then lead to him getting punished.
He had lots of excuses he could use for ignoring him.
’And I’ve been exposed because of him. I can feel the killing intents of about seven Bulwarks aimed at me.’
He shifted his gaze to the northern tower.
’Sigh… What a hassle.’
With a completely indifferent gaze, he turned and started running toward his destination- The Northern Watchtower.
His three classmates were extremely shocked by this, and they could not help but shout.
“What the fuck?!”
“Where do you think you’re going?!”
“Come back here, you bastard!”
“Fuck! He’s really running away!”
“Coward! Son of a-”
Bang!
Crush!
His curses were cut short as he turned to meat paste.
Not too long after, the last two were also killed. The Shadow Blade suffered the same fate too.
Meanwhile, Simon was sprinting across the surfaces of the roofs of destroyed and partially ruined buildings.
Three arrows were fired at him, but Simon dodged them all with the slightest of movement.
Another three were fired at him, and this time around, he dodged them again.
As he jumped from one roof to the other, a spear was shot toward him and he spun in the air, fell on the roof in front of him, then he quickly stood and rolled, dodging another rain of six arrows this time around.
Bang
The roof beneath his feet cracked as he dashed forward like a bullet.
Arrows came flying toward him, but he dodged many of them, those he could not dodge, he would punch or defend while coating his fist or body with demonic energy.
At some point, the attention he was drawing was getting dangerously high for him.
And some seconds later, it showed why.
He reached the end of the roof of a building, and he jumped to another roof. However, something he did not expect at all happened.
The ground trembled furiously and the building crumbled, leaving Simon with no foothold to use.
Simon’s eyes flickered, but he was still calm.
He looked down, and he saw a Bulwark demon placing his hand on the ground. His hand glowed with a dark brown light, and the ground was trembling beneath him.
’A Prime Archfiend. And this one uses the earth element.’
As he fell, he scanned his surroundings once again, but before he could completely scan his surroundings, the Bulwark demon attacked him.
The ground vibrated intensely, then large and small pieces of stones rose from the ground and flew toward Simon.
“Tch.”
He clicked his tongue, then he placed his two arms in front of him, curled up into a foetus position, and coated his entire body with demonic energy.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Stones of different sizes crashed into him, and Simon felt pain all over his body.
Even with his demonic energy protecting his body, he was still injured and he could feel his skin ripping apart and his blood escaping from his flesh.
A few seconds later, the barrage stopped, and Simon fell on the ground with a bang!
He was not moving, and the Bulwark demon chuckled when he saw this.
He approached Simon, then he saw the injuries and blood on Simon’s body.
They were numerous, but what the Bulwark demon did not know is that they were not grievous injuries at all.
Maybe for an average normal human they were.
But for a Fiend?
They were not.
“Pesky annoying assassin. All you guys know how to do is jump around like monkeys.”
He raised his leg to crush Simon’s skull.
“I’ll crush you like the bug you-”
Before he could even complete his words, Simon suddenly sprung up like a cat, and he climbed the body of the Bulwark demon like a cat rather than a human.
“What?!”
The Bulwark demon was shocked, but Simon was now around his neck.
He crossed his legs around the Bulwark demon’s neck, tightened it, then he stabbed the eyes of the Bulwark with his claws.
“ARRRGGGHHH!!!!”
The Bulwark demon screamed in pain, but Simon didn’t stop there.
His demonic energy flashed around his claws, then a longer claw made out of demonic appeared inside the Bulwark demon’s eyes.
They pierced his brain but could not shoot out of his skull because of how hard it was.
However, the Bulwark demon breathed his last and it died.
