The Broken Halo - Chapter 349: Little Weak Pussy Cat

Chapter 349: 349: Little Weak Pussy Cat
Simon exhaled deeply as he looked at the fallen corpse of the Bulwark demon.
’The fact that I can’t use weapons and armors is affecting me so much against the Bulwark demons.’
’My physical strength might be above the ones I’ve encountered, but if I don’t kill them through their eyes, to kill them by punching and kicking would take a lot of time because of their physical defenses.’
’If they choose to use their chaos to protect their bodies, it would make it a lot more difficult for me.’
The more Simon thought about how how the Chaos Wraps were limiting his battle prowess, the more he was looking forward to the day he could remove the chaos wraps, find a way to use other weapons even with the chaos wraps, or at the very least, the day he could use the Chaos Blade without fear.
The Bulwark demons were difficult enemies for assassins, but with a powerful blade, weapon, or armor, the chances of an assassin killing a Bulwark demon was greater than when an assassin had no weapon or armor.
Simon looked away from the corpse in front of him, then he looked around.
’This simulation has shown me a weakness and a potential future problem, and instead of whining about the Chaos Wraps, I have to find a solution to this problem.’
’Once I’m done with this class, I’ll start focusing on the mind path and chaos runes.’
’If my fists won’t be enough to kill my enemies because of their physical strength and defenses, then I’ll use my mind and chaos runes.’
Simon’s eyes flickered, then his mind went to his Hollow Sky Eye.
’Will it work in this simulation? Will it work on my classmates and the Bulwark demons most especially?’
’I should give it a try.’
He crouched slightly, then he jumped to the pile of rubble which was the building the Bulwark demon destroyed.
From the pile of rubble, he jumped to the roof of another building.
However, while he was in the air, his instincts suddenly screamed at him.
Whoosh!
He perceived the disturbance of the wind behind him and he could feel a massive figure behind him.
Those who were watching him from afar in the simulation, and those who were watching him outside the simulation like Instructor Amahi and the students who had been killed…they all saw a Bulwark demon flash into existence behind Simon with his hands raised, almost like he was about to dunk a basketball.
No.
To be more precise, almost like he was about to slap Simon into oblivion.
Simon felt a threat to his life, and he was only able to coat his entire body with as much demonic energy as he could muster in a single go before he was slapped into a building, bounced out of it and crashed into another one.
BOOM!
The sound of the slap and Simon’s crashes travelled far and wide, causing those who were in the vicinity and those who were far away to look in Simon’s direction.
Some foolish assassins and Bulwark demons died because of this.
Taking your eyes off your enemy?
Absolutely foolish.
Meanwhile, Simon felt like all the bones in his body were broken, fractured, or had one damage or the other.
He felt so much pain as he lay in a pile of rubble.
He felt pain from the slap he received from the unknown Bulwark demon.
He also felt pain, no… he was feeling pain from the pieces of stones and metals that were on his body.
’Oh… This is bad… I might actually die.’
Despite his current situation, he was still calm and was not panicking in the slightest.
He had been in this situation a lot of times in his past life, and it was in situations like this, he himself became calm and Fearless seemed to be very active.
Step!
Step!
Step!
Step!
The ground trembled, and the sound of loud and heavy footsteps shook the air and drifted into Simon’s eyes.
Simon was barely able to look at the source of the sound, though he already knew that it was the Bulwark demon that did this to him that was also approaching him to finish the job.
’What a big guy.’ He thought with a tinge of amusement.
The Bulwark demon was the biggest Bulwark he had seen in this simulation, but not in his life.
He was nearly 11ft tall, and unlike other Bulwark demons, he was wearing a black metal armor that covered his full upper body.
The only part that was not covered were his arms, though he was wearing a pauldron on his right shoulder.
’If he was wearing a gauntlet, I’d be dead by now.’
He could not help but chuckle as he had this thought, but he groaned when he felt a sharp pain shoot throughout his body.
’Damn it. I can’t even laugh my sorrows away.’
He continued his observation of the giant Bulwark demon approaching him, and he saw that the Bulwark was also wearing a chiton as pants, and this reminded Simon of the ancient spartans of earth.
The black greaves the Bulwark wore as leg armor further made Simon to think of this Bulwark as a spartan…to a certain extent though.
’A Supreme Archfiend with strength that’s so close to that of a Greater Demon.’
’Yeah… I’m screwed.’
A smile appeared on his lips, and his smile was shown to the world because the bottom half of his mask was broken.
His right eye was also exposed because that part of the mask was broken.
His face was more exposed than it had ever been in the academy, and some of his classmates who were watching him outside the simulation had wide eyes as they wanted to see his face.
Some were cheering and wishing for his death, and it was not limited to the failures outside the simulation.
Those in the simulation were watching wide eyes, wanting to see the invincible and untouchable king and slave of their class fall for once.
Meanwhile, the Bulwark demon stood in front of Simon, then he grabbed his neck and lifted him up.
“Little weak pussy cat, why don’t you jump and dodge like you’ve been doing?”
