The Broken Halo - Chapter 362: A Magnet

Chapter 362: 362: A Magnet
The bulwark commander could not believe what he was seeing.
He already knew that Simon was talented, but this was very shocking to him.
What was that healing ability?
What was that level of control over his demonic energy?
What was that physical strength in such a lean body?
What was that decision making?
The bulwark commander already knew that the members of the Shadowgrave Clan were extremely good at many things.
It was known that the Shadowgrave Academy was one of the best academies in the demon realm, and it always produces talents and monsters.
But there was something about Simon that made him to be slightly beyond many monsters he had seen in the Shadowgrave Clan.
“Now, I’m more interested in him. I wonder what secrets his body and storage ring has.”
Even though Simon had dodged his attacks numerous times and was getting closer to the northern tower, he was not worried.
First of all, he was a half-step Demon Lord. His power was more than enough.
Second of all, Simon was a mere Fiend. What could Simon accomplish under his watch?
And lastly, he was a half-step Demon Lord.
He was more than enough to destroy any plan Simon had.
He stretched out his left hand.
“If you keep on running, I might have no other choice than to crush you like the bug that you are.”
He chuckled, then the wall quaked.
Simon noticed this, and his expression changed.
He heard the sound of rocks and stones moving and crashing into one another behind him.
He took a glance behind him, then he saw that parts of the wall had been used to create two stone hands that were the sizes of three adult elephants.
’You have got to be kidding me.’
One of the stone hands moved.
It attempted to grab Simon from the front, but he quickly jumped with all his strength and dodged the hand.
However, while he was in the air, the stone hand grabbed his ankle.
Simon looked down at his ankle that was being held.
Without hesitation, he twisted his body which led to his ankle getting twisted as a result.
His bones broke, his flesh became a mangled mess, but Simon became free.
The expressions of Instructor Amahi and the first years changed when they saw this.
Even the bulwark commander had a shocked expression when he saw this.
They couldn’t even begin to imagine the pain Simon felt and was feeling after doing this.
What level of madness does one need to self inflict such injuries to their bodies?
Simon was mad.
Yes.
But if this was the real world, he would never do such a thing.
Simon’s eyes were calm despite the immense pain he was feeling.
Two seconds later, his ruined ankle began to heal itself.
Three seconds later, his leg was fully healed.
Healing his body took a lot of mental energy, and because he had been doing it a lot, he could feel a small ache in his mind.
’How long have I even spent in the simulation? Almost thirty minutes? Or more than thirty minutes?’
’Sure feels longer than thirty minutes.’
Simon landed on the wall as he had these questions in his mind.
He continued running, and the second hand flew toward him and attempted to swat him like a fly.
Simon fell face flat on the ground and dodged the hand by inches.
Just as the hand passed him, he didn’t wait for even a second before dashing forward.
It looked like he just did a single push up.
The first years who were watching Simon had opened mouths of disbelief and shock.
They watched as the bulwark commander became more aggressive with his attacks.
He was no longer making an attempt to capture Simon or to kill him while ensuring that his body was in one piece.
He now wanted to kill Simon… or so the little ones believed.
The large earth hands were now punching and slapping with a greater force. However, Simon always found a way to dodge it.
And if he couldn’t, he would sacrifice an arm or a leg, then he would heal himself.
It felt like unless Simon was killed with a single strike, he would heal from anything.
Some of the first years found it interesting to watch, but some had dark expressions as they were beginning to realize just how wide the gap between them and Simon was.
How in the world could they surpass him and leave his shadow?
No
Were they even worthy to be in his shadow in the first place?
As for Simon, he was in a state where everything was coming to him naturally.
He was listening to all his senses. He was listening to the wind, and he was perceiving his shadow and the shadows around him.
Because of his current state, his absurd reflexes, and his vast experience, he was able to react and predict the movements of the earth hands.
Another thing that helped him is the fact that the earth hands were not exactly fast.
Whether it was because the bulwark commander was not controlling them with all he had, or because the commander was not so proficient in using this technique… Simon had no idea.
He was just hoping that he could capitalize on the arrogance and belief of the bulwark commander.
Just because he was dodging the attacks did not mean that he could survive against the Bulwark commander.
Absolutely not.
If he could, why was he running and not fighting.
’I’m close. I don’t care about the reward anymore. I just want to see the array and formation. I just want to catch a glimpse before I die.’
To Simon, he could no longer complete the mission assigned to him.
With the bulwark commander on his toes, how could he hope to destroy the formation core?
’What of the other commanders of the Shadowgrave Clan? What in the world are they doing?’
Just as Simon had this thought, four walls surrounded him again, and he clicked his tongue.
He raised his hand to punch it, but the moment his fist was about to collide with the wall, the wall that was made out of rocks and stones transformed into a wall made out of metal.
’Oh… fuck me.’
Shatter
His entire arm shattered, and the last three walls also transformed into metal, moved toward Simon like he was a magnet, then they crushed him.
CLANG!
BANG!
