The Broken Halo - Chapter 361: Unhindered

Chapter 361: 361: Unhindered
The bulwark commander was right when he guessed that Simon’s reflexes were absurd, but he was wrong in his assumption of Simon possessing an affinity for the earth element or Simon having a danger sense skill because he was able to dodge all the earth spikes in a fraction of a moment.
Meanwhile, the reason Simon was able to dodge the earth spikes was because of Shadow Sense.
Whenever an earth spike was about to shoot out from the wall and pierce him, he would feel a distortion in his shadow, and this alerted him about the attack.
At first, he was not used to it and it was so sudden.
That was why he stumbled, fell, and rolled on the wall.
But now, he was very much used to it.
Shadow Sense was a skill he used mainly to ensure that nobody was hiding in his shadow like Thorgan.
In terms of perceiving danger or perceiving the arrival of a living thing, an object, or an attack in his vicinity, he felt more comfortable using his wind affinity to perceive this.
However, in cases like this, Shadow Sense was more suited for it.
And what pleased Simon a little bit is that even though this was a simulation, he could feel his increasing proficiency for Shadow Sense in this situation.
It was in dangerous situations he grew best, and with his life on the line, his Seven Stars Blessing and his mind was rapidly improving his skill proficiency for Shadow Sense.
’Can luck just shine its blessing on me and make the bulwark commander to continue unleashing attacks like this from afar?’
’If he does, I might just survive.’
Though, Simon had this thought, he knew that with his luck, it was very unlikely.
Three seconds later, there was no attack, but this did not make Simon to feel safe.
Instead, he felt even more pressure.
All his senses were on overdrive, and he was paying attention to every single thing he could see and perceive.
However, another three seconds passed, and no attack still came his way.
’What’s going on?’
He frowned deeply, then he took a quick glance behind him.
A mistake he shouldn’t have made.
He felt a disturbance in the wind in front of him, and from what he could sense, it was a large object and it was close.
Too close
He knew that he would not be able to stop in time, so he coated his entire body with a thick concentration of demonic energy, and braced for impact by tensing his body.
He could only hope that it was enough.
Bang!
He crashed into a solid object, and he felt the bones in his shoulder, arm, and nearly every part of his body shatter.
’Fuck.’
Simon cursed internally as his vision went dark for a moment before it came back. However, everything was blurry to him and he could not see clearly.
’Is that… a wall?’
Simon thought as he fell from the wall with his broken body.
He felt a lot of pain, and it looked like he was going to fall to his death.
’Damn. Did that bastard wait for me to look at him before he created that wall? Or was he just lucky.’
Simon closed his eyes, then he inhaled deeply despite the pain.
Three seconds later, his body began to heal itself at an absurd rate.
His broken bones melded themselves and his flesh became new. He looked as new as one could be, and the bulwark commander was extremely shocked and baffled.
Simon’s eyes snapped open, then he spun in the air and unleashed his claws from his fingers.
Dark emerald-orange demonic energy coated his claws and hands, then he struck the wall with all his might.
Bang!
The wall shattered, and Simon’s claws dug deep into the wall as he fell.
Deep claw marks appeared on the surface of the wall as Simon used the wall to slow down his descent.
Because of his demonic energy, he felt very little pain as he did this.
Eventually, he came to a stop.
He looked down, and he saw that he was no longer so far away from the ground.
’I’m at the middle of the wall. Not safe. I can be attacked from the ground and from that bastard at the top.’
’I need to move.’
Without wasting a single second, he placed his legs on the wall, removed his hands from the wall, then he continued running.
This time around, he did not make the mistake of looking at the bulwark commander.
Despite what just happened, his destination was still the tower.
After running for a few seconds, another wall shot out from the wall a few inches in front of him.
It was very fast and very sudden, but Simon’s expression was calm as he jumped, landed on the wall on all fours, then started running on it.
He reached the top of the wall in no time, then he jumped over it and landed on the northern wall.
He continued his run.
The bulwark commander’s lip twitched when he saw this, then he clapped his hand.
Simon’s eyes flickered as he slowed down and came to a stop when he saw what was coming for him next.
To his front, back, left, and right were walls.
They surrounded him.
The walls were not moving at first, but two seconds later, they moved.
They all approached Simon, fully intending on crushing him.
The only obvious way was running on a wall and jumping out of the encirclement, but Simon did not rush to do this.
He knew that the bulwark commander was not stupid and must have realized this, which meant that it was a trap.
Simon’s eyes flashed, then he dashed forward at a very fast speed.
The bulwark commander was baffled when he saw this, but in the next moment, his eyes widened in disbelief.
Simon raised his right hand, then he swung his demonic energy coated fist and broke through the wall with a punch.
Simon continued unhindered, and the bulwark commander had a solemn expression seeing this.
