The Broken Halo - Chapter 460: Going Naked

As Simon’s body moved through space, he instinctively realized something… Where they were going was a little bit far.
Normally, one should not feel any sensation when teleporting.
It should be like one just closes their eyes, and when they open it back, they find themselves in another location.
But it was different for Simon.
Simon could feel his entire body moving through space, and it felt like he was on a high speed train.
He tried to see something in this space but all he saw was darkness.
Because of his relatively high spatial affinity, he was able to perceive a few things in space.
’We’re in a bubble, and the bubble is protecting our mind and body from disintegrating into pieces as we move through space.’
’This bubble also seems to be made out of… spatial energy… How interesting.’
Just as Simon had this thought, the teleportation ended.
Simon blinked, and from a place of complete darkness, he found himself in a building.
He looked around, and he realized that the building was made out of wood, it was old, and it was even dilapidated.
He frowned when he saw the state of the building they were in.
’Is this a shack? And why is it so dirty? Why’s there sand everywhere?’
He looked down, and he saw the light of the teleportation circle going dim.
“Have you used a teleportation circle before?”
Vexa’s voice reached his ears, and Simon looked at her.
He saw the confusion and suspicion in her eyes, and he knew why.
As long as one does not have a spatial affinity, one would feel a sense of discomfort and would also be nauseous after teleporting for the first time… especially for a Fiend.
’Does he have spatial affinity or an artifact that helps him to not be nauseous after teleporting?’
’But how would he know that he’d need such an artifact for this mission. First years should not know that we use teleportation circles to leave the clan for missions.’
Vera was not the only one that had such thoughts, Noctis, Silith, Morrow, and Gorr were all giving Simon suspicious looks.
But Simon remained calm and his eyes were completely indifferent despite the stares he was receiving.
“I have not used a teleportation circle before.” He answered.
Vexa narrowed her eyes.
“Then how have you fine? You should be nauseous or feel some sort of discomfort at least…”
She paused for a moment and looked at Simon from top to bottom with slightly narrowed eyes.
“… Do you have a spatial affinity?”
Simon shook his head, then he pointed at his temple.
“I don’t have a spatial affinity. Only a very strong Will.”
The expressions of Vexa and the rest, and majority of them became baffled.
“A strong Will?” Vexa with a baffled and suspicious tone at the same time.
Simon nodded. “Yes. I felt nauseous, like my insides were turning, like the world was spinning, like the colours were chaotic.”
“I felt all of that, but with my strong Will, I was able to suppress everything and not puke out my insides or fall on my knees.”
Vexa, Noctis, Morrow, and Gorr had strange expressions after listening to Simon’s words.
They had never heard of a Fiend using their Will to suppress the nauseous feeling of a first time teleportation.
Surprisingly, the reason Simon gave was actually not a lie and was something demons with no spatial affinity could do to avoid the aftereffects of teleportation by a teleportation circle.
And fortunately for Simon, one of them was knowledgeable about this method.
“What he said is true. Some beastkin use their Wills to suppress the aftereffects of teleportation. It’s a normal thing among beasts.”
“And considering everything what we know and heard about him, it’s not surprising that his Will is strong enough to suppress something like that.”
Simon looked at Silith who just spoke, then he nodded his head.
’At least one of these kids know something as basic as this.’
He shook his head slightly, and if his face could be seen, one would see the disappointment he had.
He looked at Vexa.
“Where are we? And can you tell me what the mission is now? And what I’m meant to do in the mission.”
Vexa looked at him, then she turned and walked to the door of the shack. She stopped at the door and looked at Simon.
“I can’t tell you where we are because I don’t know.”
Simon raised a surprised brow. “You don’t know?”
Vexa nodded. “Yes. I don’t know.”
She opened her right hand, and a new set of clothes appeared on her hand from her spatial ring.
Simon looked at the others, and he saw them also bringing out a new sets of clothes.
They all brought out different clothes, and to Simon’s disbelief, every single one of them began to remove their clothes.
Even Vexa and Silith removed their clothes and became completely naked.
“What’s going on?” He asked with a slight furrow of his brows.
Vexa glanced at him as she wore her new set of clothes.
“Our mission is to assassinate a prodigy of House Mercer. The prodigy has the potential to become a future Demon Lord, and House Vaelor who are the rivals of House Mercer paid the clan to kill the prodigy of House Mercer before he blooms and becomes a future threat to their house.”
“Because of the difficulty of this mission, we can’t go dressed like assassins. We have to dress normally.”
“Do you have a different set of clothes?”
Simon nodded in response to Vexa’s question.
“Then you should change.” She said.
’Demons don’t really care about their nakedness, even their women. And they don’t put much value on it. That’s one of the differences between demons and humans.’
Simon’s lips could not help but twitch, and after looking around the shack, he realized that he had no choice.
He had to be completely naked in front of everybody.
’And unfortunately, demons don’t wear boxers or pants. Well, they don’t actually need it so I guess it’s understandable.’
He released a soft sigh, then he removed his clothes and changed into a different set of clothes.
It was a little bit strange for him going naked in front of everybody, but he did what had to be done.
He also had to remove his mask after seeing that Vexa and the rest were removing their masks.
“Alright. Let’s go. We have to go to the next teleportation circle and take a third one before we finally reach our destination.”
“I’ll tell you more about the mission on our way.”
Vexa turned the door handle, and the moment she did, Noctis, Silith, Morrow, and Gorr used their demonic energy to cover their eyes.
Vexa did the same, and the moment she did this, Simon also covered his eyes with his demonic energy.
He didn’t ask any question before doing this, and what happened showed that he did the right thing.
“Brace for impact.”
Vexa opened the door, and the moment she did, Simon heard the wind howl and he instantly covered his face with his right arm.
A second later, a powerful gust of wind blew into the shack and this wind carried lots of sand.
