The dragon's harem - Chapter 1961 1961: The Shift of Power

Kukumon rapidly turned around and glared at the little girl for a second, then immediately paled and fell to one knee.
“Your Supremacy!” It took the other demons a second to realize it, but soon, they all were kneeling down. They recognized Kali, and none of them dared move.
Kali waved her hand to Arad with a smile. “I made you wait a lot! We can go somewhere private.” She then turned toward Kukumon. “I’ll be taking her now. I hope you didn’t say anything rude.” She smiled. “Well, since you’re alive and in one piece, I can say you at least didn’t get on her bad side.”
Arad laughed in the back, “He kinda did. Asked if I could be his mate, I’m even feeling sorry for him.” He stood, “Shall we go?”
Kali waved her hand and then threw a sharp glare at Kukumon. “You don’t understand how lucky you are. If you didn’t catch her on a good day, you and this entire layer would’ve been melted.” She smiled. “In fact, she can probably kill several Demon Lords and their armies all at once.”
She clapped her hands, and both she and Arad disappeared into golden dust, leaving all of the demons both terrified and shocked. If the goddess of destruction said that the nymph could have wiped out several layers, then that has to be the truth. None of them had managed to understand the terrifying nature of the woman who said in the tavern, and they almost brought forth their own death.
Far away, Arad landed alongside Kali at the peak of a secluded mountain of black stones and boiling lava. He looked around, saw several wild demons scurrying at the bottom of the mountain, but there was no one close to them.
“This volcano erupts once every seven years, and it’ll erupt next year. All demons avoid it currently, so no one would bother us here.” She shifted to her true demonic form, stretched her six arms, and then looked at Arad with a grin. “Let’s see what we have here.”
“You look like a meatier version of Violet, thicker, and boasting more flesh on your bones. You’re also taller than her.” She approached, looked at Arad’s face, eyes, torso, and limbs, then smiled. “And for nature, you’re built for the dark energy of the universe.”
“You know what that is?” Arad asked, and she pointed up. “This isn’t a good example since there are no stars here in the abyss. But the dark energy is what holds the universe together and keeps it from cracking and spilling into the outer void.”
She clapped her hands and summoned a cube of ice with pebbles frozen inside it. “This is how the universe looks, but it’s a sphere. The pebbles are the worlds, and the ice is the dark energy holding the worlds together, and these tiny pockets of air are the empty void.”
She threw the cube of ice to Arad, and then flicked her fingers, causing the pebbles to turn bright red and start melting the ice around them. “Each universe needs a star to exist, so the dark energy’s second job is to cool them down, metaphorically. What it really does is prevent them from doing so much damage to the fabric of space and time.”
She then clapped her hands once more, and one of the pebbles became so hot that it became surrounded by a bubble of compressed water vapor. “Then, there are black holes, stars that had became so heavy and dense that they collapsed on themselves, tore the fabric of reality, and the dark energy can no longer hold it back.”
Arad lifted one palm and summoned a tiny black hole, suspended it in the air with gravity magic and his void, then stared at it. “These things? Gojo’s Yarnballs?”
“Exactly, but the ones out there are much bigger, and have formed naturally without the help of magic.” She pointed at the tiny black hole with a grin, almost causing the thing to come to life and blush. Kali really, really loved black holes since they are the epitome of pure destruction.
“Are you serious? I’m certain these things would never form naturally. They are just too extreme to exist without someone’s interference.” He swallowed the black hole back into his stomach. “An ancient god, a dragon, or an abomination must’ve had a hand in their forming.”
She giggled. “Believe me, even in a universe without magic, these monsters would be born; they are a fundamental law of reality. They have their job.”
“And what is their job? I can’t ever think of a good reason to have reality-breaking, uncontrollable titan stars out there without anyone keeping an eye on them. Here, at least, we got Amaterasu keeping them in check. Even with how she is, we can at least be thankful she keeps those things in check.”
“At least in our universe, they rend abominations, cleanse the void, and maintain order by being like support pillars that keep the dark energy in check. That dark energy is like muscles; it’ll grow weaker over time if not used, and so, those black holes stimulate it.” She walked past Arad and laid a hand on his back. “What I am saying is that in due time, after a few thousand years, you would at least be as strong as Amaterasu, and that if you just survive and do nothing but exist.”
They both knew that Arad wouldn’t stop at that point, but neither would tell the other. Arad won’t speak of his speculation because he doesn’t want a war to start between Kali and Amaterasu, and she won’t say a thing because she doesn’t know if Arad knows or not, so she won’t risk it.
She then grabbed his hand, “Let me see your nails.” She them smiled, “As expected, they are painted. Did they come out like this?”
Arad smiled, “Of course not, I had Eris paint them for me so I can fully use witchcraft if I wanted to.” He replied, and she gave the nails a deeper look.
“They are indeed nicely done.”
When Arad was taken over by AO, he had stormed the frontlines and violated countless abomination settlements at once; the death toll was as much as the gods’ entire army kills in months, so… which was terrifying. That was one of the reasons Kali could return so soon, she had nothing else to do in the frontlines, and Nyar seems to have gone into hiding.
If she knew anything about AO, it is that he is extremely merciful toward the people of the universe, but violently deranged when it comes to the abominations. He was merciful with them at the start as well, but since they stabbed him in the back once, he has a vendetta against them.
She was his weapon, his spear of destruction, so she knows well how AO fights. “Say, Arad. Want to try something fun?”
“Fun? Like what?”
“Guerrilla warfare. Can you create a pocket of void outside the universe, and then fly around to blast the abomination bases?” She asked, and Arad lifted an eyebrow.
“Isn’t the army already doing that?”
“They are, but not like how I wanted them. They move with large armies supported by several void dragons that carry supplies; they are slow and generally easy to target.” Her entire body flashed with light, and soon, she became a long golden spear in Arad’s hand. “And, not just with me.”
In the next moment, Eris appeared by their side. “Kali? You called me. What is going on?” She looked at the spear, and became confused.
“I turned into a weapon, and I want you to do the same. But you don’t know how, so do you mind if I take control of your body for a moment?” The spear twitched, and Eris sighed. “Do as you wish.” As a superior goddess, and with Eris’s acceptance, Kali managed to take control of Eris for a brief moment and turned her into Morningstar, just a burning sun attached to a long plasma chain that Arad gripped.
“How… I became a sun?” Eris gasped, and Kali laughed, “Well, this is the best I could do with your body. Try to maintain this shape. Arad, can you use us both? I wanted to bring Isabella as well, but her creation power is too weak for this now.”
Arad swung the spear, spun the sun, and smiled, “Well, it feels right.”
