The First Legendary Beast Master - Chapter 1692 Targeting Elders

Chapter 1692 Targeting Elders
The bat wasn’t noticeably slower than the attacks of the Elder.
The difference was in the attack power of a Peak Immortal, and what Karl could output, even with the combined bonus from an entire Clan’s damage applied by [Rampage], plus the benefits of [Predation].
The {Amulet of Destruction) was working wonders for him, its ability to increase a spell by one subrank in the Immortal Realm had brought his [Warbeast] enhanced cat demon form to the physique of a mid Ascended Rank Immortal as base, with all the buffs stacked on it.
That left his skills a bit on the weaker side, but his actual attacks, and his physical defence, as well as his health pool, were absolutely monstrous.
Thanks to [Limited Invulnerability], most of the Sect Leader’s attacks wouldn’t even damage his barriers if he didn’t actively use a skill, so the Elder was forced to burn energy constantly, just to avoid a war of attrition against the roaming World Boss that was Karl.
Unintentionally, the pair moved out over the harbour, further into the sky where the Supremes were fighting.
It seemed appropriate for a Sect Leader’s fight to be visible, but Karl was careful to keep them as far as possible from the main fight, as the aftershocks of that battle were enough to destroy everything on the surface other than the Immortals themselves.
Sparks of electricity flew as the Sect Leader’s Arcane Element attacks hit the wrap of Tribulation Lightning chains on the bat dozens of times in a second, and the fight drew to a stalemate.
Karl activated an [Illusionary Domain] to hide his own attacks and set off a series of [Chaos Vortex] attacks around his opponent, shaking the Immortal, who struggled to see through the illusion.
Then, his barrier broke under the steady onslaught, and a focused attack by Karl sent him crashing to the ground, even as his blade shattered the [Bulwark] shield in Karl’s other hand.
Dust flew into the sky as Karl landed on his fallen opponent, his feet coated with [Chaos Blast] attacks.
Blood flew from the man’s mouth, and Karl swung down at the man’s head, forgoing defence in order to go for the kill.
The sound of shattering bone told him that the bat connected, and then the Sect Leader simply vanished. Karl sent Soul Sight out to see where his wounded target had retreated to, but couldn’t find anything in the crowd of combatants.
“It’s an escape talisman, he returned to his Sect Compound the moment that he would have died so that he could be resurrected,” The female Captain shouted at him as Karl searched the battlefield.
Well, that was annoying.
If the Elders were just going to respawn, didn’t that mean that he couldn’t take their territory after the battle?
Karl had assumed that it was going to be largely unpopulated by the time that they finished. Rae had over a thousand Blood Golems now, and they could only be made from enemies that died to [Blood Destruction], so her kill count was definitely not low.
At that rate, the attacking Sects couldn’t have too many members left at the end of the day.
The Elf’s expression turned shocked, and Karl looked down to see that his Tabard had changed. The three golden rings of his victories had merged into one bloody red stripe with a golden knot pattern overlaid on it.
“Congratulations, Tyrant!” The Captain shouted, and the other sailors raised their voices in a wordless congratulation.
The remaining fighters in their area, the few who hadn’t succumbed to the combined force of the Elves and Oathbreaker, simply fled.
That seemed to be the turning point of the battle, for when Karl turned, he saw nothing but the backs of the invading Clans, who were now in full retreat. But it wasn’t the Captain’s shout that had made the difference.
At the moment that Karl’s tabard changed, two more of the Sect Leaders had fallen from the sky, decapitated by the reinforcements from the Darklight Host. Now outnumbered eleven to three, even the bravest of Supremes wasn’t willing to remain anymore, and activated whatever emergency escape talismans they had, leaving the New Home Clan members standing around with nothing but a destroyed city and a mountain of corpses.
{SYSTEM NOTICE} [The Hyperion Sect has been disbanded after losing a Guild War by Challenge against the Darklight Host]
{SYSTEM NOTICE} [The Gralpedrin Templars have been disbanded after losing a Guild War against the Darklight Host by loss of their Clan Leader in combat.] {SYSTEM NOTICE} [The Condim Commanders have been disbanded after losing a Clan War by Challenge against the New Home Merchant Clan]
The notice appeared in front of everyone on the battlefield who had a System Interface, not just in their vision, but physically in front of them.
Even hundreds of Kilometres away, halfway between New Home and the city of Condim, the Sect Leader of the Almeixei Sect got the notice.
The Commanders weren’t the rulers of the city, they held a smaller territory along the northern coast, bordering the New Home’s usual hunting grounds. But they had brought a Supreme Ranked Clan Leader to the battle.
So, that was two Supremes and a Peak Immortal dead, only seconds apart.
And now, the battle was effectively over.
He had sensed the other Clan Leaders fleeing for their lives, but he could also still sense nearly a dozen Supreme Ranked beings in the New Home compound, and what felt like hundreds of Supreme Ranked constructs.
Clan Leader Nerissa sighed, and then raised her voice, using a skill to let it
carry over the membership.
“We have held the day! Elders, with me! We go to claim the spoils of war from the Gralpedrin Templars.”
She bowed to the Darklight Host Supremes, and then gestured to Karl on the
ground.
“Forgive my lack of manners, but this is time-sensitive, or their survivors will loot everything worth taking from the city. We will take our fifth, and then leave the city to rebuild under a new Sect.” She explained.
“We are intimately familiar with the process, Clan Leader. Fear not, we will
happily go speak with our Guild Member who was brave enough to fly a War Banner, knowing that it can’t be taken down until he is victorious or permanently dead.”
