THE GOD EATER - Chapter 406: A Ripoff.

Chapter 406: A Ripoff.
In exchange for spending all of that money, the sect will give him 10% of the awakening fees of everyone who uses the awakening room that he built, and he will earn 10% from all of the missions and sources of profit of the sect’s ground that he built.
So he will do all the work and only get 10% of the profit, while the sect does nothing, loses nothing, and earns the remaining 90% of the profits. This is why he felt that even though it was called a privilege, it sounded like a scam to him.
As he thought of this, he chuckled and said, “I have no difficulty believing that the Four Directions Sect created the Money Pathway and the Enslavement Pathway. They have a terrifying grasp on earning money and using people for free.”
In his opinion, only the City Building Privilege, the Personnel Setup Privilege, and the Mission Setup Privilege don’t sound like a rip-off.
Of these three, the City Building Privilege is the best. This is because it grants him property that actually belongs to him.
For the Awakening Arrangement Privilege and the Sect Expansion Privilege, the things that he will build with his own money don’t actually belong to him. Those things are sect properties and can be used by the sect however they want. He will only be an investor.
But the city he builds around the sect ground will belong to him. In exchange, he will have to pay the sect a yearly tax so that they can continue to recognize his ownership of the city.
When he read this part in his token, his lips quivered with barely subdued rage. Eventually, he could only laugh.
At the end of the day, he concluded that every privilege was going to benefit the sect in one way or another. He also determined that the most useful privileges to him are the Personnel Setup Privilege and the Mission Setup Privilege.
The City Building Privilege, Awakening Arrangement Privilege, and the Sect Expansion Privilege aren’t useful to him because he doesn’t need the money and because he will have to rebuild them anytime he reverses time.
On the other hand, the Mission Setup Privilege can be used to issue a mission for the disciples of the sect to do. Of course, he will still need to pay the reward of the mission, and the sect will take a 10% mission handling fee from him.
Then there is the Personnel Setup Privilege, which he can use to assign sect disciples to specific missions. He can’t use this privilege to force anyone to do anything, though.
His personnel arrangements can still be rejected by the disciples without any consequences. But regardless of the success or failure of his personnel arrangements, he will still have to pay the sect some money.
This made him say in annoyance, “So I can’t use this to force Greg to come out of the Earthly Battlefield and meet me. What a scam.”
After grumbling some more, he put away the token and thought about where to go next. He didn’t take long before he decided on where to go.
He decided to go to the Heavenly Battlefield. So he took out his token and signed up for the Heavenly Battlefield.
His main goal for going to the Heavenly Battlefield is to gain access to a lot of cultivators that he can eat for free. He wants to eat so as to expand the size of his Power Core and increase its amplification from 9 units to 900 units.
He also wants to eat so that he can raise his cultivation from the early stage of rank 5 to the peak stage. So he has a lot of reasons to eat, which is why eating is his main goal.
His second goal is to use the heart of the small world to create a divine position. For this one, he doesn’t know if it will work, and he needs to be at the peak of rank 5 for it to work, which is why it is his secondary goal.
Of course, he could use the Mission Setup Privilege to achieve these goals without lifting a single finger. For the first goal, he can use the Mission Setup Privilege Metac to set a mission for cultivators of the sect to come to him willingly so that he can eat them.
For this mission to succeed, he will have to offer a premium on the purchase of their lives. He also has to pay upfront, and he has to pay the sect an extra 10% of the premium that he is paying for people to let him eat them.
For his second goal, he can also set a mission where someone has to deliver an intact and living heart of the world to him. Just like the first mission, he has to pay up front. He also has to give the sect 10% of the value of the heart of a living world.
So the Mission Setup Privilege can help him achieve these two goals. But it will require a lot of money.
If he could take the goods and pay later, he would use the Mission Setup Privilege in a heartbeat. But he has to pay up front, which limits what he can achieve with this privilege.
Take the living heart of a world, for instance, it will cost at least 1 trillion energy stones. And the sect will take an extra 100 billion energy stones to let him use their network of manpower to achieve his goal.
He doesn’t have that kind of money, and even if he did, he doubts that anyone would take money from him and give up the opportunity to become a divine being. His doubts aren’t baseless either, since it is a fact that no one is selling Divine Metacs for money.
With this kind of uncertainty on the matter, even if there was a method to earn 1 trillion energy stones, it would still be better for him to use that time and energy to go and take the living heart of a world for himself.
