THE GOD EATER - Chapter 448: Ignorance Is Bliss.

Chapter 448: Ignorance Is Bliss.
Loki liked this situation where the divine beings ignored them more than everyone else and even made sure to make himself look more unremarkable. He achieved this by making sure that the energy chamber containing the Vengeful Bones Metac had been deactivated and that he wasn’t using his second skin.
These are things that he had done before he left his room to go to the air dock. But he was still making sure that nothing was out of place.
A few seconds later, one of the divine beings announced to everyone, “You may begin.”
Then the divine being became quiet again. It was as if it had taken all of his strength to say those words.
No one had any complaints about this. No one even noticed how unwilling the divine being was to talk to them. Everyone was too busy focusing on the small world and their impending battle to care about the demeanor of a divine being.
Only someone who was secretly monitoring the behavior and reaction of the divine beings noticed something like that. So only Loki and one other person noticed this. Both of these people were also the only ones who breathed a sigh of relief when the divine beings continued to ignore them.
Since they have been given permission to act, every soldier surged from their modes of transportation and rushed towards the small world. Their behavior indicated a certain level of eagerness despite the inherent danger involved in the enterprise.
Loki and the other two rank 5 cultivators led their soldiers into the small world. As soon as they sank into the crystal shell, they disappeared from the Blessed Heaven World.
While the mortals were jumping into the small world, the divine being from the Four Directions Sect, a woman called Monarch Astra Body, said to the other four, “I am willing to wager that this round will end in the victory of the small world. Who is interested in betting?”
As she spoke, her body glitched, and she turned into a two-dimensional form. But the glitch was for an instant. Her body filled out a moment later, and she returned to being a three-dimensional being.
The divine being from the Martial Body Sect, another woman called Monarch Bull Strength, asked, “How exactly will they win?”
This woman had two huge black bull horns on her head. It made her look menacing. But her huge chest dispersed the menace about her.
Monarch Astra Body replied, saying, “It will be a total wipe. All of them will die.”
In response, Monarch Bull Strength shook her head and said, “I don’t think there will be a total wipe. They may be mortals, but they are not that useless. They should be able to protect themselves somewhat and survive.”
Monarch Astra Body smiled and said, “Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is?”
Monarch Bull Strength also smiled and said, “Why not? I am willing to bet that at least one person will survive from each of the five sects.”
The divine being from the Myriad Phenomenon Sect, a man called Monarch Talisman Paper, said, “Count me in. I want to bet that at least half of them will survive by the end of the month.”
He was a pale white man as white as a sheet of paper. There were also writings on his skin of various colors, ranging from red, yellow, green, blue, to black.
The divine being from the Sword Way Sect also joined in betting. He was a man, and his title was Monarch Thousand Cuts.
Monarch Thousand Cuts looked ordinary enough. But his skin was crisscrossed with white scars. The scars were plentiful. They covered every inch of his body, including his eye.
The last divine being, the one from the Nexus of Truth Sect, didn’t join in the bet. Their gender and appearance couldn’t be discerned because they appeared to be a shadow.
They were a three-dimensional shadow, though. So they had form, and they weren’t an image formed on the ground because of the absence of light.
All five divine beings were different. Just like Divine Metacs, no two divine beings were alike in appearance. They all had distinct features that set them apart.
Despite all of these differences, the five of them had two things currently in common. The first thing they had in common was that they were not wearing clothes.
They don’t wear clothes because they serve no purpose to them. A cloth won’t block the sight of another divine being from seeing their nakedness, so there is no use wearing it.
They also don’t wear clothes because clothes can’t survive their travels through the various dimensions of space. Only special clothes can survive passing through space tears, but those special clothes are usually more expensive than they are worth.
Only divine bodies or divine materials can survive passing through spatial tunnels and space tears. And even when they do survive the trip, they will be worn down and have to be repaired for every trip, or they will break apart.
Rather than spend so many resources on looking good, they would rather spend the resources on increasing their lifespans. After all, lifespan is far more important than anything else. So divine beings rarely wear clothes.
The second thing that all of these divine beings have in common at this moment is that none of them believes that this Heavenly Battlefield will end in the victory of the five sects.
They are of this consensus mostly because this world isn’t actually a small world. According to their observation, this world is a medium world, so the world is very old, and the will of the world has had time to grow and become smart.
It is rare that there will be a world that can defeat the combined armies of the five sects. Such worlds never appear among small worlds, but the possibility of them appearing in a medium world is significant.
Because of this set of circumstances, the expectations of these divine beings for the Heavenly Battlefield are very low.
